This is the dirtiest department store I’ve ever been in, just repulsive, the entire store smells gross, but the bathrooms are horrendous. The management should be ashamed of themselves.

Back when I bought my home in March 2008, I purchased a «floor model» Washer-​Dryer unit from Sears Appliances. It was spanky brand new and a wonderful price. The employee put my name on a label and stuck it to the unit.
A week later, the unit was delivered. My dad was home for the arrival of the unit. My dad calls me, concerned, asking me what kind of washer-​dryer I purchased, since he received one that was dented, scratched, rusted, and with detergent caked on the side of the washer drum. He said he had spoken with the delivery driver about the fact I received a unit in used condition, and the driver cryptically said «You know, in this town, sometimes people know each other, and do favors for them.»
I immediately returned to Sears, to see that my spanky new floor model had a new label on it, with «Mrs. So-and-So’s» name on it. Mrs. So-​and-​So was to receive MY unit that I paid for.
I immediately confronted the sales people. They said «If I had such a problem with it, that I could return the washing machine, but NO they would NOT sell me my original unit because «Mrs. So-and-So’s name is on it and it’s her’s, have a nice day.»
I guess my trustworthy employee was feeling especially Christian that day and did a favor for a friend, at my expense.
To make matters worse, they didn’t send me all of the parts to my washing machine. I was unable to level the unit for two weeks, meaning it just sat in my house doing nothing. I eventually had to order parts for it at my own expense.
Since then, that unit has been serviced FIVE TIMES, just while it was under warranty. Belts have snapped, there have been leaks, the transmission died, the buttons and knobs have fallen off, the screws fell off the front of the unit, and the lint guard has never properly fit and we’ve had two fires in the back of the unit as a result.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM PEOPLE WITH HORRIFIC BUSINESS PRACTICES LIKE THIS!!!
