We actually went here twice because we were impressed with the ribs. Unfortunately the ribs the second time around we’re not quite as good. Definitely get the chili!

This past weekend my buddy & I drove to Waco to hit a few guy stores. It was around 5pm and we were starving. We both wanted to grab a steak so we hit Texas Road House on the way home. We walked in and my buddy told me to pick out a steak. I had never done that but picked out this sweet ribeye. We were seated quickly and grabbed a beer. That steak and food was top notch! The manager came by and offered us a free appetizer and wanted to make sure we were taken care of. Overall this place kicked butt, clean, great service, great food. 5 stars for a chain restaurant

Wonderful waitress, food was good with only one exception. The steak. After traveling to Magnolia’s downtown with friends, we stopped for lunch at Texas Roadhouse. Hadn’t eaten at one in years. Cactus Blossom(aka Blooming Onion) was great. Salads good. Rolls delicious. All in all not a bad visit. While eating the steak, noticed that there was excess fat around the edge. It’s a ribeye… But as I ate thru it, there was more than normal ligament and fat. After chewing down thru half, could not eat the rest. Picture shows the remaining portions of the fat and ligaments. All inedible. It’s a steakhouse, so the main dish needs to be on it. Today it was not.

**3.5** We wandered in on a Saturday night and found a line a mile long. We were going to go elsewhere, until we checked on the wait time and surprisingly they told us only 20 minutes. Atmosphere felt a lot like Phil’s BBQ in San Diego if you’ve ever been there. So we waited and got a table in about the time they told us. Restaurant def has a circus, party feel to it, every 3 minutes the staff is doing their group Happy Birthday song and clap show, which was a bit annoying but that’s what we signed up for when we walked in. How can so many people be having a birthday on the same day? First night on the job for our waiter and he did a great job despite his inexperience. Everyone talks about the incredible bread basket that comes before the meal. It comes with a cinnamon butter and it’s just as good – if not better – than everyone says. Wow. That bread comes off more like a dessert. Served warm, the rolls are soft and pillowy. They are roll-your-eyes delicious. We asked for regular butter and he brought a second basket of bread almost immediately since the bread disappeared like a magic trick. We ordered: Ribeye Steak w/Ribs Combo(3⁄5) This comes with two sides. I got the loaded Baked Potato and Caesar Salad. The steak was undercooked, but he took it back no problem and grilled it a bit more. Steak was OK but not great. The ribs were under-sauced but enjoyable. Caesar Salad was good but way overdressed, literally swimming in dressing. The Baked Potato was on target. Deep Fried Onion(3⁄5) I forget the name they had for this, but it’s the one they serve where the onion looks like a flower that’s blooming. It was served with ranch dressing and I had no complaints. Deep Fried Mushrooms(5⁄5) Possibly my favorite thing on the menu, right up there with the bread. Something just plain delicious about these. We all left very full and satisfied. The service was good and the food was enjoyable. I’ve had better steaks but if we lived in the area, I might come back again to try other things on the menu. Actually, the bread alone would bring me back!

Chain restaurant, so you know what to expect. Good rolls with cinnamon butter, as well as a good country fried chicken dinner and loaded mashed potatoes. Salad was not great… but overall, the meal was tasty, if not a little uninspired.

I’ve been to this location often since I moved to Waco. After my experience tonight, I don’t think I’ll go back. We walked right in at 6:30pm and they sat us immediately. The table we went to smelled like vomit. We asked to move and they accommodated us. My husband looked at me and asked if the place felt dirty. I said yes — I expect the floors to be covered in shells, but the floors felt greasy. The tables were greasy. There were flies. I asked him if he wanted to leave and he said no. Our waiter and waitress show up — yes we got a trainee– and take our drink orders. A beer and an unsweet tea. They brought sweet tea. The beer showed up when they meal did(after the salads). My filet was well done even though I asked for medium. At this point we just wanted out. We both wanted to wash our hands after the meal, but we were afraid to go to the restrooms. I don’t know if they are just training a bunch of new people, the franchise owner is trying to cut back on his costs, or if it was an off night. Too bad — it’s one I’ll have to wipe off the restaurant list.

There was a lack of service on several levels. I came in with my wife and my in-laws. We were told the wait was 30 minutes. That was fine. When our buzzer went off, we got up, and then after a few minutes, they host staff(there were 3 up there) said they accidentally hit the wrong buzzer. They told us the situation, but they didn’t apologize or say we were next or anything. When our meal came out, my wife and I split the 16oz prime rib. It was cooked the right color, but the texture was off. We pretty much ate 12oz of prime rib. 4oz was not chewable. Then, came the bill. .. my father in law insisted on paying. So he gave them his credit card. 8 minutes later, the waitress apologizes saying that their machines are down and they can’t run credit cards or put in orders. The waitress offered to get us more rolls while we waited, but we said we were ok. 20 minutes later my father law is getting upset. He has to flag down our waitress and tell her that something needs to get figured out now. She says she’ll go get the manager. 5 minutes later, the waitress comes back with the credit card. They made a copy the old fashioned way with the roller. We pay and leave. **The manager never came. So pretty much the FOH staff needs to be coached on communication. The kitchen needs to work on cooking. The waitress needs to get the manager when she says she’s going to get the manager. .. I know it wasn’t the best situation for the restaurant, but I have worked at a SBUX where the credit card system went down. We had a plan immediately. You can’t stop business and you can’t keep your patrons out of the loop.

I fell in love with Texas Roadhouse out in California and I expected to keep the same sentiments eating at the establishment in Texas. Somehow, our meal ended up being just okay and service was disappointing. The food wasn’t as good as I had remembered, with the exception of the fried pickles. The sides were bland and the steak was not thrilling at all. At least the peanuts were not stale!

I had a terrific meal here. Our steaks(ribeye and filet) were so tender, perfectly seasoned and grilled and this is from someone who is brutal on subpar steaks. Sides of green beans, sweet potatoes were delicious. Hot bread with cinnamon butter and tasty salads rounded out the meal. Service was perfect. Prices VERY reasonable. We will be regulars here

Went to the Texas Roadhouse in Waco last night. Greeters and wait staff very friendly. Food is okay and reasonably priced. Our server was super nice and attentive, but still we got our appetizer AFTER our meals. All in all, you get way you pay for — reasonably priced food. The most memorable part is that we were SUPERTURNEDOFF by the girl only line dancing that seems to required. Right in front of our table every half hour. I just thought the whole thing was distasteful and reeked of a 70’s style gimmick that really borders trashy. You are already battling the super loud music and then they add that. It’s impossible to have a conversation with your table. I think next time, we’ll shoot for something a little quieter and more dignified.

I’ve been to a Texas Roadhouse before, so I somewhat knew what to expect, the food is good, reasonably priced, it’s also loud, especially when you sit near the bar, etc But this was my 1st time to the Waco location. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. As soon as I walked in, the hostesses were friendly. Sometimes in places, they are too cool for school and are on their smartphones. Reagan was my waitress, she was super friendly and very knowledgeable. She was busy, but was very attentive. I ordered the filet with the grilled shrimp, all was very tasty. The bread is good too with the cinnamon butter. I really am giving them a 3.5 stars. And I’m giving Reagan a 5.

I am a past Texas Roadhouse employee. This means that I know the ins and outs of this particular restaurant chain and have very high standards when I visit one of the restaurants after spending a few years dedicating numerous hours to the business. With that said, I really enjoyed my recent visit to this Waco location. My husband took me on a romantic getaway for Valentine’s weekend. We spent our honeymoon around Austin and he wanted to take us back there for the weekend. Having worked a long day on Friday, we stayed in Waco for the night and stopped here for dinner. Our server was top notch. Even though the restaurant was packed(even at 9pm) with those celebrating Valentine’s, he still made us feel like valuable customers. Our drinks were refilled, more rolls brought to the table, to-go drinks, etc. He was attentive without being annoying. I ordered the sirloin kabob which is served on a bed of rice and a side salad w/lo-fat ranch dressing. Delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the salad was super cold(my favorite). My husband ordered a ribeye, loaded fries, green beans and a side salad. Again, the steak was cooked perfectly. The salads were so good that we stopped again on our way back from Austin on Sunday afternoon for lunch. We ordered the Chicken Critters Salad. Yum! Our server on Sunday was excellent as well. This location is top notch and we enjoyed two great meals.

It was a busy Sunday night but we were greeted by the friendly hostesses and seated right away. Our waiter, Evan F, was prompt and attentive. My wife and I ordered the New York Strip medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes with brown gravy and green beans were also delicious. Evan took great care to ensure we had a good experience. Will definitely be back if we are passing this way again!

Ate here with my daughter while shopping at Central Texas Marketplace. We got there right as it opened so we had not wait. It was a chilly day and we got seats by the fireplace. The server was cute and would sit on the hearth to chat. The rolls are good with the sweetened butter. Problems are it takes forever for the food to arrive and the cuts of meat are very strange. I ordered a filet and was served a New York strip. I know the difference. The server told me they cut the filets in half(really?), horizontally that is, which results in that appearance. You don’t ruin a filet by well, filleting it. No way you can do a medium rare on such thin pieces of meat. It was gristly too, supporting my belief it was not a filet. The server did go back to the kitchen to check, to no avail. I have since talked to someone who had the same experience so no telling what kind of meat they are putting out there.
