We had been a little weary of trying this place because of reviews but finally decided to bite the bullet since we were in the area. So glad we did! The food was amazing. The service was fast and friendly. The dining area was clean and the crowd was vibrant. The menu was a bit pricey but after having had the food, definitely worth the cost. The Wako Roll(big roll) was gooooood. It was a very large portion and more than filled me up. I had to share! The Kalbi was delicious and a very large portion as well. The sides were delicious. It came with lettuce leaves and black rice — both very good. The boba tea was delicious and the smoothie suggestion was great! Definitely try the Almond Smoothie with boba. Their having high-chairs was a huge bonus for us. Great food, great environment!

Came on a Friday night, business was fairly busy which boded well. Prices on sushi are kind of high but to be expected given Waco doesn’t have a strong infrastructure for fresh fish. Ordered a Philly roll and shrimp tempura roll. The salmon in the Philly roll was way too smoked but the tempura roll was agreeable. The beverage area was a mess and I found the layout annoying and I had a hard time finding anything I needed(utensils, etc).

This is by far the best sushi I have ever had! I live in the suburbs of Dallas and when I come down to visit family this is the place to go! The selection is endless and the service and quality is amazing! We ordered Edamame, the oriental fries, and each a roll. I swear I could have ordered two more rolls! Such a wonderful place. The environment is so laid back and when you leave the building you feel like you should be walking out to Time Square but unfortunately it’s just the Market Place. Lol.

Large variety of sushi that is fair. The tempura and spicy tuna were ok. The chef seems to direct an inexperienced group in the back and working the front. Prices are ok, $ 30.00 for three rolls. Place is not too clean and bathroom was filthy. The Seafood Yaki Udon was just nasty. Two clams, two squid legs, and unflavored udon in a messy sauce. Thought I was going to vomit! The worst $ 11.99 entrée in Waco… yuck! «Stick» to the sushi in this place.

I ate here twice in the three days I was in Waco, but it was not because of the sushi. The sushi was tasty(I got the vegetarian roll) but messy and clumsily made. Not what I expect from a place that has«roll» in the name. HOWEVER the tofu taco was fantastic. The only thing I’d say about that is I wish I had some more sauce.

We come here quite often as it is the only Korean place in Waco. Stick with the kimchi jiggae or the bibimbap for your best value, as they are actually rather large. A lot of the more meat based dishes such as bulgogi and galbi are often rather scant for the money, and they use very low quality cuts of meat. Banchan(sides) are pretty good, but they give you very little. Sushi is ok, but again, rather scant portions. Dining is cafeteria style for the most part. Go up and order and get your own drinks. Register folks are hit and miss. One girl(the manager?) is awesome, but the rest are terrible. This is unsurprising as you can’t leave tips on your card. Place gets four stars mainly because one of us is Korean and has crazy cravings for jiggae.

My husband and I visited this place at 3:30p on a Saturday. There weren’t alot of people but had a pretty steady flow of «pick up and to go» orders while we dined. The place was clean and staff was friendly. We orders #1 Korean Chicken Fried Rice and #17 Bimbibap with chicken and a Shrimp Tempura Roll. The shrimp roll came out first and was well done. The shrimp was lightly battered, well fried and non greasy as it should be. The size was a bit small but still a decent amount of food. The Fried rice plate was a medium to medium-large sized portion while the Bimbibap was a large size portion. The taste was fresh and well done. It’s not the most amazing Asian food but it is a tasty meal that you won’t be disappointed in having especially since it is hard to find a decent Asian resturant in Waco.

Sushi was delicious! Staff was great. Only giving 4 stars because of the interior. It’s very dark and looks more like a mom and pop diner than a sushi place. Order to go because the drinks are a little pricey. I had the Crab Stick Tempura roll which was $ 5.50. Freshly made and delicious.

This is the place to go get sushi in Waco. I used to go to teriyaki park(which have the same owners) but I had an experience where my sushi was really dry not fresh at all. I’ve never had a problem at wakoroll my sushi is always fresh and delicious. It’s really convenient I can just call in my order once I’m about to get off of work to pick it up and go home and enjoy my delicious spicy tuna rolls at home. The staff has always been really friendly, my sushi has always been delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant has always been really great.

Not very clean, the sushi wasn’t cold and everything was geared towards to go food. Not a dine in restaurant. The caterpillar roll was fine, but I didn’t finish it and salad was less than mediocre. I will judge a sushi restaurant from now on based on the employees working there — i.e. no Japanese employees at this place. Skip it. Go to chipotle next door!

Never one to turn down a lunch date we decided to go try Wako Roll since neither had been before. Well my co-worker ordered the 2 piece Galbee taco and a lrg bubble tea $ 11.23 and I had the lunch special teriyaki chicken with fried rice and a coke total $ 13.33. The tacos she said were pretty good but for that prices it should of been way more meat instead of the 5 little pieces on the shell and completely covered with all the toppings, the bubble tea she said was ok she didnt really like it like it didn’t have enough of the flavor she picked it was black milk tea and almond. My lunch special was just ok and I do mean ok. It lacked flavor I had to add soy sauce, ginger and sriracha to give it some type of flavor. The chicken was completely over cooked and dried out, it had a rubbery texture that you have to keep chewing and chewing to be able to swallow without choking literally. I didn’t understand the french fries and pickles with the meal, but whatever. Not sure if I want to try this place again it is the same concept as Teriyaki Park but more expensive with less food. Also don’t go by the prices off the website’s menu everything is raised by $ 1 or more, the site clearly has not been updated.

Pros: Hubby and I ordered Vegetable tempura roll and Wako roll, seaweed salad and chicken fried rice for our toddler. They brought the rice out asap, which was very thoughtful/attentive– parents really appreciate that stuff! He really enjoyed it too. The seaweed salad came out first, and it was a little different from what I’ve had but it was very tasty! Our rolls came out a few minutes later, very quickly. They were also delicious. Cons: The ambiance/décor is a little lacking, and many tables needed to be bussed(no booths were available due to it). As to be expected with sushi, it’s a little pricey. But that’s usually how it goes. Our bill(with no drinks) was $ 34, to give you an idea. BRINGCASHFORTHETIP(they don’t accept tip charged on credit/debit card). Summary: Service was very friendly, food was yummy, and we’ll definitely be back when we get another sushi craving :)

Had lunch here today. While this place is quick and convenient the food certainly had some challenges. We placed our order with the cashier. This was simple and quick. So far a great experience. Our meal began by the three of us splitting the $ 6.99 Sushi Special. It was quite good and I especially enjoyed the fried sushi in the center of.plate. Then proceeded to have the Tempura Shrimp Udon for $ 9.99. It was pretty bad. The fried shrimp sticks were overcooked and a tad tough/tasteless. The broth was fishy. The noodles were kinda thick, chewy and the greens hard to chew/digest. I ate 20% of my portion and attempted to be polite stating I was not very hungry. Fact is this was a really bad dish. I see no need to return here. While the sushi was good the item I came here for was udon. Guys — your ratings are not so hot. Take a skilled look at what you are serving.

The bulgogi and green tea latte tastes the same as Teriyaki Park’s. Although they give you a lot of sides(kimchi and bean sprouts) which is nice. And pairing the bulgogi with the slightly bitter lettuce makes it better. And having the option to get black rice is pretty cool. Although I wonder why they didn’t include rice and miso soup for the lunch special for take out. I remember the first time I went, the black milk tea bubble tea tasted very diluted, but the green tea latte this time was okay, but way too sweet.

Well I always order the same so I will update this after I try other menu options. I order the lunch special #2(8 $), it includes 5 pieces of California roll, 5 pieces of Baylor roll and a shrimp tempura. It is really good…

Ah, I miss living in Waco. Wako Roll was one of my favorite spots when I lived there. Now let me tell you, my rating is for Waco area. Waco is still a smaller big city– and you can not find as much as you would in a big metro area such as Dallas. I Love Love Love the bulgogi!!! I have never had a bad meal with the Bulgogi(or Bulgogi claypot for cold days!) and have always loved the flavors and taste!!! Their sushi is ok, so if you are really picky about your sushi, it may not be for you. Bottom line is: if you havent tried the Bulgogi… do so! The bubble tea also is great ;)

Came here for lunch one day and left extremely disappointed. For starters the food is decent nothing amazing but not disgusting either. I had a Tofu taco, Miso soup, and Edamame. The edamame was really good and very salty. The miso soup was also good a lot of spinach was in it and I enjoyed it. The taco was okay it had two small pieces of tofu and quite a bit of the Korean BBQ sauce which had a kick. Now onto the part that upset me, the service was awful. The were so many health hazards at this restaurant. For starters the cashier was extremely rude and was scratching and rubbing her scalp and then was touching food and making take out containers of ginger and wasabi without washing her hands. There was another male employe that was eating his food touching the cash register and then making food and serving. The restaurant was very messy and dusty as well. There was a dirty table next to ours that probably remained that way for over 20 minutes. Over all the foods fine the service not so much. Probably won’t be dining at Waco Roll again.
