Hertz Rent A Car

Amazing that any business is capable of a 100% 1 star rating on Unilocal.However, this business shows it can be done.
I made a reservation yesterday for a truck, to be collected at 7am this morning from Hertz in Waikiki (Marriott location).
I went to collect it this morning, and was told ‘we don’t have trucks’.
You can only imagine how furious I was, given that I made the reservation yesterday for today, paid employees to work overtime to get a move done today, only to be told ‘we don’t have trucks’.
I was given a suburban. New with only 300 miles on it, however, on collection, I found it to be full of sand, dirty, bloody, tissues and used coffee cups.
For $ 300 for a one day rental, I expect a lot more! A lot, lot more!!!

Absolutely avoid Hertz! If this location is any indication of their service run for the hills! Extremely long line at 7:30 AM in the morning, one person working the desk, seven people in front of me… Most non American! Translation 45 minute wait. The gentleman in front of me asked for a car and someone had just returned one. He was informed they don’t rent dirty cars to customers. I explicitly heard they have a policy cars are be washed and inspected before a customer can rent the vehicle.
Hmmm… I thought awesome. UNTIL. We we retrieved our car. It was filthy. We were desperate. And on a time schedule. the mirrors were so filthy we had to pull into the gas station to wash them ourselves. Seriously, they were so dirty I could not see out of them wash some of their cars but there is no way they bother to dry them. Ours was a Mess. Scratched and all. Which was a big problem there was no one there to assist and check the vehicle with us! Crazy. Right?
Also, there is no one there to check the car for dents and scratches. I took photos of my phone and I’m hoping for the best. The office closes at 3 PM really? Avoid hertz at any cost!
Huge huge huge disappointment

I made a reservation and showed up promptly on Friday Aug 29, around 10AM, at scheduled time. It was Tony and a young female who appeared to be somewhat new at this job. She politely asked Tony questions (about my kama’aina rate, gas, and more) and he would continually roll his eyes and sighed heavily at her. Mind you there was a LINE OUT THE DOOR of people whom observed this. The two gentlemen behind me in line was so furious they were calling Hertz corporate on their cell phone. When Tony finally took the gentlemen they explained that they have been waiting in line for over 45 minutes. He never apologized. He said, «Oh well, I’m doing the best with what I have, which isn’t much. I’m frustrated too…»
It went on and on. Bottom line is I am never going back there. Ever. Ever.
