We ate here a number of times while staying at the Marriott because the food was better here than most other places we tried in the area. My favorite was the ahi poke bowl and the fish tacos were also quite good. The service was good for the most part, except we did experience bad service at the bar one evening when we served by an unfriendly female bartender.

Who knew that this vacation destination shuts down at 8/9pm and then finding food is next to impossible? I believe this is the only place you can get food up until 11pm in the Waikoloa area and it’s located in the heart of the Marriott. It’s a nicely lit up fun ambience with a full bar. Most people go there to drink. We came to get FOOD. It’s not an extensive menu but there was enough on there for us to pick a few things to take back to our room. Yes, it is expensive but what do you expect coming from the hotel? We ordered a bento box of foods and a kailua pork quesadilla. Neither was anything to write home about but frankly after a night of diving, I was ready to eat anything at that point. The quesadilla didn’t have enough pork and I think the bento/lunch box required extra seasoning although the beef skewers were quite tasty. Free parking for all and they cook really quickly.

To begin, all we can say is «Wow!» My wife(a Marriott employee) and I just returned from our honeymoon and we stayed the entire week at the Waikoloa Marriott Beach Resort & Spa. Upon our very early arrival, Beau at the front desk noticed our folder titled«Honeymoon.» Without us even asking, Beau upgraded our room to an ocean view. Way to make us happy right off the bat. Our room was clean and the view was amazing. Thanks again, Beau! Another perk is there is not a bad view from anywhere on this property. It is also conveniently located, and the beach is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. If you want to catch a beautiful sunset, this is the place to stay. Other notable mentions are Michael and Evelyn, who are members of the pool wait staff. These two were great. They were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and provided us with a free cake for our honeymoon as well as some discounted drinks. We were also quite amazed at how good the food was at the hotel. We did not have one bad meal. They use quality ingredients and everything tasted great! In fact, we ate all our meals except for two at the hotel. Last but not least we wanted to give a shout out to the awesome bartenders at the Hawaii Calls Restaurant, also known as the«Clipper Lounge.» Chad and Peter were awesome! Not only did these guys make killer drinks, we also bugged them the entire time about insider information about the island and asked their opinions about many things. They were more than happy to oblige. One side note, my wife and I went on a nature hike and when we returned, we noticed she had an allergic reaction on her hand. Chad must have overheard this, because he promptly went out to the garden area and cut some natural aloe and brought it back for her to use on her hand. You just don’t find service like this anymore! As mentioned above, my wife is a Marriott employee. And she said in her 10 years of working and visiting Marriott properties, this was the best experience she’s ever had. Thank you to the staff of the Waikoloa Marriott Beach Resort & Spa for helping make our honeymoon a special trip. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Seems to be the only place open on a friday night after 10pm within a 10 mile radius. If you’re staying at the resort area, then you are defaulted here or the market for sandwiches. so in that respect it gets a 5 — since they were open. however they do close at 11pm. it’s well lit, and friendly service. however the meal runs about $ 20 a head for standard bar food — burger, french dip, pizza etc. nothing fancy or mindblowing, but again, considering that there really isn’t anything else to eat after a semi late flight arrival, this is the spot.
