Friday crab legs and prime rib buffet is worth it! Also dessert was tasty! However we felt a cold snobby vibe from our server. I noticed she was friendly and talkative to other hotel guest, and talking to her follow coworkers dining in. When my husband asked if the Coke she poured is Diet, the waitress gave him this smart ass look, walked away and assisted another table and asked the guest«is this diet?» The guy replied, «oh no this is regular.» Nearing the end of our dinner my husband asked for the check and she rolled her eyes when she turned her back and then presented the check. I wanted to say something but I didn’t…maybe she’s having a bad day with her busser??? Earlier my husband mentioned they were arguing(in front my husband). Old or young you should never act like that when you are working. It was our anniversary week so I didn’t want to «say something». Anyway, we might go back but not in her section. I will definitely remember your name.

The food was good. The service was very BLAH! I know everyone is tired of vacationers. You work in the service industry and you need to rise up and«be of service». I blame the management for allowing the sneering and avoidance of the staff. I live here and am very Aloha and didn’t get any Aloha back!!! So sad!!!

Went here last night service was so bad slow and rude. Also we waited over 1hr for food. Talked to manager she didnt really care. We ate here 3x this week spent alot of money for such bad service. This is far from being marriot customer service. I would not come here to eat ruth chris down the road you will be taken care of there…

Breakfast buffet is overpriced– wouldn’t consider returning even at half the cost. Bar opens surprisingly late– who opens a hotel bar in Hawaii at 11 am? Dinner options didn’t seem great either, so we skipped and went offsite. Disappointing that this onsite restaurant is so mediocre considering how great the hotel itself is.

I have to stick with the average review…3 stars. Located in the Marriott, they have pretty standard hotel fare, and a good wine list. Some nights hey have live music, however the bar and restaurant is not enclosed, so it can get kind of hot and sticky, especially if it is humid. The service is very average, and I had some of the bar bites, and they were very average as well. Prices are moderate to expensive, however you get a good amount of food for your money.

The pork belly on the menu was the worst dish of ever had in my life and very expensive and the waiter was not helpful when I told him that it was the worst decision ever had in my life he didn’t offer to get the manager or say he was sorry or anything

Went with locals as they highly recommended the hotel restaurant. They were correct! Phenomenal service and great food! Handcrafted drinks were a very popular event with the Lamp Lighter being the favorite. Fresh crab legs were out of this world. Wait staff extremely friendly and on their game. Get over to Marriott Waikaloa, plenty of self parking, the music was great too… Live!

Ever drink and meal was well prepared. Service was always personable, polite and smiling faces. Drinks and food poolside will take a while. Order ahead of time and be patient. We tried almost. Everything on the menu, including drinks. Food is ample, you can split and you shouldn’t be hungry with drinks. If you want a fancy glass, you’ll have to sit in the bar. No glass poolside. Waitress /waiters do not come by often. You’re not too far from the bar to go order your own food or drinks. Bathrooms are nearby, you will share with hotel guests and swimmers. Breakfast, lunch and dinner have different vibes. Live music during certain hours at night.

I don’t write negative reviews, so this will be a first for me. THEMOSTTERRIBLESERVICEATTHEBAREVER! Went in on a Saturday night, and the bar was not busy. However, for some reason it took the bartender(Kim) for EVER to greet my sister and I with menus. Once we decided what we wanted, I actually had to get her attention to let her know we were ready. Seemed like she was just ignoring our side of the bar. I kindly asked her if we could order some drinks, and she rudely replied«I don’t know, are you going to be nice?» …Unreal! I was so taken back by that comment, I didn’t know what to say other than«can I speak to a manager?» So unprofessional. The manager didn’t do anything to help the situation either. So much for a great customer experience. NOALOHA. Save your money, and go somewhere with nice staff!

The food was lacking seasoning, but the crab legs, and exceptional service made up for it. Compared to other buffets we’ve been to, the selection of entrees, desserts, and atmosphere is what really makes coming here enjoyable. We thank our server Remi for making our visit extra special.

I heard hotel changed the ownership recently, and I can tell the difference when I check in this time. Front desk is very friendly. Restaurant provides daily special menu, I got southern style seafood on Thursday for just $ 29. It comes with two half crabs, three shrimps, mussels, Portuguese sausage, corns, and potato. The amount is large, and the flavor is just right for seafood dish. The hotel also gives two free Mai Tai drinks per stay, which goes well with my dinner. I would highly recommend to check out their daily special here.

Decent resort restaurant with funny wait staff and great seafood boil on Thursdays Food — 3 to 4 stars We lucked out coming here during happy hour on a Thursday. Their Thursday special is the«Southern» style seafood boil consisting of crab, prawns, clams and potatoes. This was really good. The crab legs were really good(meaty, fluffy) and the sauce was perfectly season. My wife and I eat quite a lot of shellfish in general and she said that’s probably the best seasoning for a boil she ever had. The rest of the menu looked decent, nothing too inspiring. Service 3 to 4 stars We sat at the bar and was entertained by the bartending staff. They have good sense of humor and was quite attentive even when they were clearly busy Price — 2 to 3 stars It’s at a resort, so as expected it’s pricey. Come during happy hour to help offset this. Atmosphere — 3 stars A little ‘sterile’, but nice view of the pool and the ocean beyond.

Celebrated dad’s birthday and wish we didn’t do it here! As a party of 6 adults we were seated at 2 round 4 seater tables with umbrellas over. Very awkward both for conversation and balancing our plates. Food: Very small buffet for the price($ 45) per person. Crab was good, not salty or soft and prime rib was good tasty. Salad bar, better at Pizza Hut, and a potato bar with more toppings than the salad bar. Desserts, very attractive and eye appealing but not taste appealing. Beer, $ 7, a bottle. We were given a kamaaina discount but then slapped with a $ 40 gratuity so basically we had a $ 4 discount. We then figured out why our waiter was so «on it»! Advice: Go somewhere else that deserves your hard earned money

Puna is an awesome bartender. There should be more associates like him and Elizabeth from the front desk. They are both so kind and welcoming. We have been coming to the Waikoloa almost every 2 years for the past 7 – 8 years. Both of them have remembered us from previous visits. The daily specials are great and affordable. Again puna from Hawaii calls is awesome and Elizabeth from front desk is the best!!!

When we got there, it was a nice view of the pool area. The weather made the area hot and the table seemed a bit dirty. The food was amazing! No doubt about that.

Breakfast here is fantastic, lunch is alright, and dinner here is great. There’s a different deal or special everyday of the week for dinner, and the seating is comfortable outdoors. Sometimes, birds and cats come around, and the birds can be a little annoying.

The ambiance is great, the furniture is modern and clean. The wait staff is friendly and attentive, refilling your water, etc. I can imagine the service can get slower during their peak times. We came here for the breakfast buffet 2 mornings and dinner/drinks one night. By coincidence, we came on a day that had 50% off entrees. They will add gratuity to the prediscounted bill. Bread baskets are by request only. The bread was cold. The food for dinner was okay. Not amazing by far and not horrible either. As far as price, it’s standard issue at any hotel you are dining at especially in Hawaii. So is it pricey? In that aspect yes but not unusual especially for the convenience of staying at the hotel to dine. The brunch on the other hand has the ambiance and food down. The juices were cold. There was a live omelette station and the sticky buns are amazing. You also get 25% off if you are staying at the hotel and is totally worth it. Overall, depending on what you are looking for this place isn’t bad.

I can’t comment on the food here, but the cocktails were good. We walked right in to the bar area one day and sat ourselves at table with a nice view of the sunset. It’s a relaxing and very pretty open air restaurant. It took longer than I would’ve liked for a waitress to come over to us, but being in laid back island mode, I wasn’t too bothered. I ordered their Tropical Itch($ 14), which was a mix of rum, bourbon and tropical fruit juices I believe. It came in a tall glass with a wooden back scratcher in it which was pretty cute. It was tasty and not weak at all. I wanted to eat here, but we were out and about the whole time we stayed at the Marriott, so I didn’t get a chance. It sounded like they have some good offerings though, like half off entrees on Mondays and Tuesdays, and all you can eat prime rib and crab for $ 45 on Fridays and Saturdays.

We wanted to check out the hotel restaurant on our first night stay. It was a nice atmosphere and a pleasant music in the background. It wasn’t necessary questioning who we are if the place is open to the public. Service was good and the menu selection and portion sizes satisfied our expectation. Quality of the food was average. Dinner selection was linguini pasta and fish of the day. A bit overpriced to my experience dinning in similar places. Didn’t like the management decision not to offer bread basket as part of full service with the entry. Basket has to be requested!!! Good enough for one night experience, but not to come back.

I have to agree with some of the other Unilocalers! This place is flat out awful. Avoid it at all costs!!! The hostess was extremely rude when we arrived. Although half the tables were empty, she said there would be a 20 minute wait(really?!?). When we were finally called, a different«hostess» walked way ahead of us and slapped some menus down on the table without saying a word. Our waitress was extremely rude. A member of our table asked what the special weekend buffet offered, and the waitress snapped back«What do you mean what does it offer? What type of question is that?» Seriously??? All this at a Marriott Restaurant. She then recommended that we go «check out the buffet» before deciding what to order. I could tell she was trying to imply we would’t like it for whatever reason. I started to feel like she assumed we were ‘typical posh tourists” and couldn’t stand her job. We went over to check out the buffet, and everything looked nasty! The pasta was overcooked and looked like it had been sitting out forever. They had tons of starch and tried to hide the crab legs. The roasted meat looked dry and unappetizing. We ended up ordering a fish dish, the Chicken Caesar Salad, and the«Farm to Table» House Salad with Chicken. All the ingredients were stale and old, and the«Farm to Table» salad was a total joke. Even though the lettuce was«local,» it was old and plain. The dressing was overwhelmingly thick and sweet, while the cherry tomatoes were unripe. The chicken breast was flavorless and chewy. The caesar salad was drowning in dressing and barely edible. Even though I expect high prices and mediocre food at resort restaurants, this place was unacceptable. The pricing was almost insulting based on the quality of service and food. Head elsewhere for dinner! I can’t believe this is the only full-service place in the Marriott! It fits in with the«bland and uninspiring» feel of the whole property.
