Um, ok, it’s in the hotel so I expect it to be expensive. But if I’m paying 30 bucks for what I thought was supposed to be a lobster roll, that turns out to be a lobster sandwich, I expect the lobster filling to be thicker than the tomato slice in it. So it was 30 bucks for a tomato sandwich with a smear of lobster spread on the bread. It tasted good but what a waste of money. My wife liked what she had but again, she was underwhelmed with the portioning. And the $ 15 drinks, where’s the alcohol?

I agree with the other writers that the food was like bar food at double the price $ 15-$ 20 for an appetizer. We had a grilled vegetable plate, which is served cold(?) and some drinks and a spring roll plate which was about 5 taquito-style rolls that were over-fried for about $ 20. We didn’t order anything else here during our trip. Luckily, we had this poor food on our first day and then went to Safeway and bought drinks and snacks for our room. There is a mini fridge in the room and they keep it low, but you can pull it out and turn up the coldness on the back of the fridge. The waitress was nice and I felt bad for her. People kept asking us how the food was –both at the table, reception and the valet. I am not sure what we should say? Bad bar food at double the bar price? Maybe triple the price? This is the pool-side café. It should be easy to have a quality lunch here — some sandwich items and salads would do it. Maybe the kitchen space is too small? We are not that picky with food, but bad food stands out. Note: my review is for the poolside café only. I think a lot of reviews are for the pool swim-up bar, which is in the same place. It is a cool-looking bar with pool stools.

Although the food was decent and the drinks were okay, I give AMA three stars because the service was below average and the other Fairmont restaurants made it look bad by comparison. Our server was kind of inattentive. She didn’t check in with our table as much as she should have. In addition, when she brought us our bill, she didn’t include the itemized receipt. She only brought over the total owed. We asked for an itemized receipt and came to find that the gratuity was already included in the grand total. It was an extremely large order, so the included gratuity was substantial and tipping twice would have been quite expensive. I’m not sure if our server intentionally omitted the itemized receipt, but it was odd. I also appreciate when the server makes you aware that the gratuity is included. I think it’s common courtesy. In addition, the table wasn’t very clean when we were seated. As I mentioned before, the other restaurants at the Fairmont(Nick’s, Ko, Ciao Café) have excellent service and their food is out of this world. I just wouldn’t recommend wasting any time at AMA when there’s better options nearby.

Fish Tacos are the way to go here. 100% Sushi after that, then the burgers. You’re in Maui — eat fish and fruit based thing and you’ll never be disappointed.

I’m a little surprise this place only average 3.5 star reviews. We came this place 3 times in 7 days to lay out, swim in the pool, drink, and eat while watching NBA finals. The service is excellent. We follow the server/bartender’s recommendation on food and it was excellent(especially wings and the burger). Drinks were good but sometimes a little weak.

A complete rip-off Menu pictures are $ 10/plate off and from two years ago Food is in small portions and tastes like bar food. Not even close to worth it. Steer clear of here.

This review is for the food only. Yeah, a swim up pool bar is awesome. Most of the drinks are pretty good but for $ 15+, I would hope they would be. And yes, the view is amazing. But, the food here only gets by on their sheer convenience to resort patrons. We dined here twice. The first time we had several drinks and an appetizer, the pork rolls-3 stars on the pork egg roll. The second time we sat in a table and ordered 2 trio slider sandwiches– this gets 1 star. The tuna was really metallic tasting, questioned the freshness… not much else in way of flavor. The crab cake one, not a good crab cake. And the pork one was the most edible one, but it was nothing special aka shredded pork with some bbq sauce and a dash of slaw on top. But not enjoyable by any means, we just needed some nourishment after all morning in the water. Yes, it was edible but the Kea Lani resort is fabulous, so they need to step up their dining to reflect the experience of the hotel itself. We will return to the resort, but have no intentions of eating at any of their dining establishments. It’s a shame, when you don’t mind paying the price, but expect the quality to somewhat reflect what you’re paying.

Ok tuna salad. Nothing spectacular but do-able for a pool bar. Drinks were excellent(very important) but the hotel and grounds itself are gorgeous. Came here once for lunch. Enjoyed relaxing down by the water on the lawn. Pleasant relaxing music with a busy, vibrant pool scene. Food– was just eh.

The best Korean chicken wings ever! We had them three times during our stay. You can also get them poolside. Kids under 5 eat free!

Located between the pools at the Fairmont. Bigger menu than we expected. My wife and I shared the Beach Boy Bento which had soba noodles, fruits, salad and your choice of two fish or chicken selections. We had shrimp and the catch of the day. You can walk in and grab a table or swim up to the bar. Great views, very tasty.

Great salads and a killed grilled mahi mahi wrap with guacamole in a sun-dried tomato tortilla are delicious. My favorite salad in the Volcano Ahi salad with fresh ahi, greens, tomatoes, vegetable curls, green onion, delicious won ton chips and a sweet sesame vinaigrette with a slight kick. Dining next to the pool in a location with views of the ocean and the Fairmont’s luxurious grounds is a great way to spend time in Wailea. Fresh pineapple, orange or guava juice are also available. To top this off is an awesome cocktail menu featuring a «PIYI»,(pronounced pie-pie). 151 Rum, crème de cocoa, coconut, POG and pineapple served in an actual pineapple is an excellent choice.

Let’s get this place in the Unilocal world! Fantastic dishes. Not just burgers. In fact there are only two burgers on the menu. Service is great and the food is freshly caught and brought every day. Ahi is our favorite and they have a few dishes with the Ahi. You cant go wrong.
