Get the cream horn! Jeff(the owner) totally knows how to make delicious tasty stuff and he also knows how to make you feel glad you came for a snack, he’s great!

Not sure of what others see here. In fairness the bakery crew was returning from a swap meet and the cream filled pastries were cold and nothing to write home about.

This place has amazing maui sadas/cream puffs with a twist. Da bomb is aptly named, truly awesome. His haipu filled maui sadas are amazing. Everything we has was incredible. His pumpkin scones are out of this worl too. Jeff the owner is an amazing pastry chef, no kidding. You have to visit if you like sweets

Amazing«Maui-sadas». Best malasadas on the island! I would rate it 6 stars if I could! Friendly owner and great filling options! Try the«broke da mout» cream puff — it is Out of this world! It is a must stop!

If I could give more stars, I would. This is a refreshing bakery in the heart of wailuku; a little shack that you could easily miss but have seen enough of it on your way to Sam satos to give it a try. A little pricey for my liking but for what it’s worth, the pastries were unbelievably tasty. We got the ‘da bomb’ cream puff that was topped with more cream, almonds, chocolate syrup and other magical things. It’s the size of your fist and is stuffed with more cream than you could handle. Another thing we got was the ulupalakua taco, aka my new favorite thing in the whole entire world. It was refreshing and the strawberries were so sweet. This is something I feel like everyone would love. Definitely recommended.

Bruddah, you’re on vacation and this is the place that your mouth needs to go to be happy. Treat yourself to something sinful and worry about the calorie count when you get home. The family and I all stopped here the last week. You know a place is good when everyone in the car claims that they were the ones who discovered it.(Funny how I was driving and pulling into the parking lot before everyone started yelling to stop for malasadas). The owner, Jeff was very friendly. How could he not be? Everyone who was there before us were stuffing travel bags and their mouths with sugary goodness. Guilty smiles all around. Since we’re only here for a few days we had to order the full smörgåsbord of desserts to sample. A little of everything so that we can write a comprehensive Unilocal review.(Oh, the things I do for you people). So here’s the samplers: Malasadas(or for Jeff, Mauisadas). The Haupia, vanilla and chocolate are creamy, gooey and decadent. The lilikoi cheesecake though will rock your mouth with goodness. Brok da mou: the wife and kids went to town on this one. I almost lost a finger trying to get a taste. This ones on the must have list. A cream puff topped with cream and drizzled with chocolate? Oh man. Ulapalakua Taco: if you only get one thing, this is it in my book. A chocolate crunch waffle taco filled with cream and strawberries. Be careful how you eat it. One bite and it crumbles into smaller sweet goodness. If you drop any you’ll be lamenting the loss for a week. Yeah, it’s that good. I’ll be dreaming of this until I return. This also the kind of place to get to know the locals, especially the owner. Jeff used to be a pastry chef at various Marriotts. He’s a genuine person who enjoys chatting with the tourists. All the locals who came by were clearly regulars. On Saturdays look for Jeff at the swap meet in Wailuku. That’s another good stop for fresh veggies and fruits and to get another fix of Jeffs baking.

Boy we lucked out on finding this place. My mom pointed this out as we sped past and we had to make a sharp turn into the parking lot. Jeff, the owner, was so nice to us as he prepared our treats. We tried everything on the menu that was available. Personal favorite is the broke da mout but the ulupakalua tacos were also awesome. Everything was not too sweet or artificial tasting. That’s the one big difference between Simply Sweets and Tex’s on the Big Island. Loved it so much that we came back for more. Go check him out at the swap meet in the university’s parking lot in Wailuku!

Don’t like pastries? One bite of anything will convert you. Our family had da bomb, the ulupakalua taco, brok da mout, and a variety of mauisadas. Not cloyingly sweet, these delights were perfect blend of pastry and filling, and the freshness was immediately evident. None of the dough had that greasy aftertaste, and the owner Jeff was just as pleasant as his creations. I’m not a big sweets eater, but I proclaim all of his as the best I’ve ever had.

While in wailuku I drive past this little shop all the time, I sways tell myself that I need to stop here one day, and I did yesterday. I sampled the cream puff with vanilla cream and the malasada filled with lilikoi. Both where so good, best in the island. Delicious I will go back!

Love the hot fresh Malasadas and Jeff serves them with a smile! We got Chocolate, Guava and loiki(sp?). The perfect softness and sugar. I loved the flavor and think the only way he could make it better is to make some with a jelly/jam type filling.

The ulupalakua taco was great. The strawberries were fresh and the cream was not too sweet. Great customer service.

While I was on my way to the Takamiya market for some lunch yesterday, I stumbled upon a little bakery in Wailuku called«Simply Sweets» Bakery. I saw that they had advertised the bakery as — «the home of the«Maui-sada’s»! What is a Maui-sada? Well, it’s basically a malasada. Upon walking up to the counter, I pulled a string to ring a bell, and out came this kind gentleman who took my order for the Maui-sada’s. I decided to go with the plain original Maui-sadas, as that’s the way I like to eat them. They do offer fillings for the Maui-sada’s like vanilla, chocolate, haupia, & cappuccino. If Maui-sadas are not your bag, they do sell other things like Cream Horns, Ulupalakua Taco, Cream Puffs, Scones, Apple Strudel, & Custard Danish. What can I say about the Maui-sada’s? Overall, a pretty good malasada. It kinda reminded me of the malasada I had at Tex Drive In, on the Big Island(Honokaa). The Maui-sada was on the heavier/breadly side. It was not greasy at all, and even tasted like the dough was baked, instead of deep fried. The texture of the malasada is so much different than what you would get from Leonard’s Bakery, or Champions Bakery, but once in a while it’s good to eat something different to mix it up a bit… wouldn’t ya say? I just ordered two Maui-sada’s to try, but the kind gentlemen gave me a bonus 3rd Maui-sada for free! Yay! How’s that for ALOHA? Check ‘em out gang! No can go wrong!

This place is completely awesome! The malasadas are excellent and the other pastries are tasty as well. My only regret is not ordering the dinner rolls that we sampled. The owner was super friendly and let us sample the malasadas and the dinner rolls. We will be stopping by again the next time we are in Maui!

If you haven’t tried Simply Sweets Bakery, then you owe it to yourself. Owner Jeff Cabiles is the creator of the Maui-Sadas(cream filled Malasada’s). He makes everything fresh daily and puts a lot of pride and baking experience into his food. I tried the vanilla and chocolate filled Maui-Sadas and they were soft, fresh and awesome. I also ordered the Ulupalakua Taco(almond roca shell, fresh strawberries over a cream filling). I could have eaten plenty more of these. Lastly, I enjoyed a Cream Horn filled with vanilla that was also excellent. Word to the wise, you’ll need a napkin or two after you enjoy these delicious treats. He’ll even pack them for you if you’re flying to a neighboring island or to the Mainland.

The broke-da-mouts and cream puffs were the bomb! And, they have a really good chantille. Then why the 3 stars? I shall tell you, they advertise the malasadas(called Maui-sadas), which are horrible! The pastry was cold and tasted a day old and the haupia filling hardly tasted like coconut… total disappointment. I wish I could’ve tried the tacos, but they were out. To sum it up, zero stars for the malasadas and 4.5 for everything else(including friendliness and service).

A new must-stop from Kahalui Airport. I was craving malasadas, and found this cute little place that was offering«Maui-Sadas». I was greeted by the owner, Jeff, who is the nicest and coolest dude you’ll ever meet. I felt like he adopted me into his family. He recommended the Broke Da Mout, but bought a plain Maui-Sada, and my friend got the haupia-filled Maui-Sada. Yummy! It was the right amount of sweetness and fluffiness. Next time I’m going to try Broke Da Mout Maui-Sada, for sure! My other friend got the Ulupalakua Taco, an Almond Roca shell filled with fresh strawberries, and she said it’s da bomb! This bakery will be added to my list of must-stop’s when I’m in Maui.

Simply sweet is back! They were able to help me out with a mini cream puff«tower» order. I totally forgot to take picture of it. But trust me, it was perfect for the occasion. Everyone at the office liked it and enjoyed it too. Especially the birthday paniolo of ours. The small business staff is truly great. Friendly and was able to accommodate what style of dessert I was looking for. Thank you simply sweet!
