Waimea is lucky to have Earl’s in it! They have the best plate lunch on the island in my opinion. Fresh food, happy employees, and best of all, it’s clean. Lines get long around lunch but it’s worth the wait.

Delicious place to stop by for a quick meal. The ladies inside were also very helpful with suggestions of places to see on our drive.

This little shop located just outside of Waimea town. They had a variety of grab and go goodies. They have salads, bento rolls, spam musubi, bentos, fried chicken and fried rice. The customers were pretty steady. Everyone just grabs what they want, paid and out the door. Cute little local business *=) we got the Teri chicken, Teri beef and Korean chicken rolls. They were all good *=)

The best idea ever and also very convenient when your on the go. Great flavors with various rolls and definitely one of the jewels in Waimea. Can’t go wrong with the daily plate lunch specials. The chili with rice is a can’t go wrong meal. My favorite roll is the Korean chicken roll. Crunchy, tasty and filling. The staff is very polite and exhibit the true Aloha spirit. If you driving up to the country or headed back down the hill, this is a must stop.

Did a quick stop here and saw this place on Unilocal. They were cleared out for New Years and only a few Korean chicken Bento Rolls were left. So glad we stopped here, probably the best quick lunch I’ve had on the island.

Earl’s is great! I love the Korean chicken sushi. My husband loves the lunch special with the lulu and kula pig. I would give Earl’s you must go there!

I wanted to grab a quick lunch here during my trip to the Big Island. I tried their Korean chicken. We got the mini plate with 2 scoops of rice(white or brown or fried rice) and potato/mac salad. The portions of the Korean chicken was more for a mini plate and can easily feed two(which is what we did). The chicken was not hot and it was a bit salty for my taste. Nothing great to rave about. It’s OK for what we pay and for the generous portions.

Excellent Hawaiian lunches. I had the Korean chicken(fried heaven) and fried rice. No seating so plan to take it with you.

Earl’s Korean chicken bento roll is one of my «must haves» whenever I come back home to visit family. They have a variety of rolls, but Korean chicken is my favorite. Keep in mind that this is not a sit-down restaurant, but more of a place to stop and pick up lunch to go. It’s great for a snack to take to the beach or, in my case, on the airplane.

Not a friendly hostess at all, and no place to sit… but, super fast and very fresh musubi, and a ridiculous amount of food for very cheap. The locals were pouring in here during the weekday rush hour for take out.

My goodness, I love this little spot! The spam musubi is the BEST. I fell in love! I also ordered the Korean Fried Chicken, which was the most amazing chicken I have ever had! With it, comes two sides. I got the potato mac salad, which BLEWMYMIND and the fried rice which was the best friend rice I have ever had. Honestly. It was super moist and super sweet, omfg. All of this together made for a perfect meal! A definite go to for a quick and delicious bite to eat!

When planning an adventure day, your first stop should be Earl’s if you’re in need of: picnic food, something portable, something delicious, and best of all– something that will satisfy everyone(if you get there early enough, that is). Almost every day of the week, Earl’s is open at 5:30am. You will want to get there early if you want your pick of their wide variety of bento rolls! A bento roll is exactly what it sounds like — everything you love about a bento rolled into a tasty bite: rice, furikake, spam, kamaboko and the variety is the main meat. We arrived about 10:30am and the shelves were completely empty. Luckily, they were rolling fresh korean chicken and chicken katsu rolls. We had just eaten a big breakfast and fooled ourselves in thinking these would last us until the next day… the joke was on us! Once you taste a piece, it is like the perfect bite — you’ll have a hard time saving much of it so go ahead and buy that extra roll — at less than $ 5 a pack, you can’t go wrong.

Earl’s brings me back to «small kid time.» I grew up eating teriyaki chicken bento rolls, taking for granted that I could get one anytime I wanted. It’s a piece of my childhood that will always be nostalgic. Each return trip to the Big Island results in massive amounts of bento rolls being consumed. Korean chicken is one of my favorites, followed by teriyaki chicken and chicken katsu. The smoked pork and ono(a type of fish) are also quite good. The menu has grown over the years but the signature flavors have remained the same. Nori, rice, kamaboko, spam, and furikake form the base in addition to the meat. A winning combination to a portable lunch. Grab a roll, head to the beach, and enjoy.

Stopped by earls before we headed to the beach. It was quick, affordable, and delicious! We got the teriyaki and korean chicken roll. Both were very flavorful and could tell was made fresh. Next time I want to try the shrimp tempura and chicken katsu roll. This is the perfect place to stop by for a fast and tasty snack or meal, but got to go fairly early because they run out quick!

I really, really wanted to try a bento roll on this trip. But by the time we made it to Earl’s Pa’aulio, we were denied. Luckily the lovely ladies at Donna’s Cookies had mentioned this new(–ish) location in Kamuela/Waimea. WooHoo! The lady at the Pa’aulio location said it was past the Minit Stop but before Environet. Perfect! We made our way back and were rewarded with the chicken katsu bento roll. Ono! Returned early the next day and got the smoked pork, beef teriyaki and shrimp tempura bento rolls as well as a spam musubi. They have hot food also but that wasn’t what we came for though I’m sure their plate lunches are tasty. My fave was the shrimp tempura one. We made one more visit on the last day of our trip for food to nibble on at the airport. There were no shrimp tempura bento rolls but we had the Korean chicken and beef teriyaki ones. The latter ones had just come out of the kitchen and were still warm. One of those rolls didn’t last very long in the car!
