As far as I’m concerned, Dee Lite has the best haupia & coconut cake. I’ve compared it with Zippy’s to Halekulani Hotel’s. Halekulani used to have what I considered the«best», but not anymore.

Picked up a frozen rainbow cake today that I phone ordered. Came out to 29 something with writing on the cake too. They charge $ 3 for writing, not too bad but was not told over the phone during my order. Service was excellent and quick. Usually go to the Dillingham location, I forgot they have one in Times Waipahu.

The cakes are the shiznit! I’ve been eating delight cakes since I was a kid. My favorite cake is the guava delight. The frosting that they use is light and not too sweet. The bakery itself is in a little corner of Times Waipahu but the cakes are still #1.

This is my favorite place for Guava Chiffon or Rainbow Cake. But today’s visit I had to pick up a pie for my grandma’s birthday. I ended up getting the custard pie. It was enjoyed by all. This is a smaller location than the other locations but they do have a variety to choose from. When in doubt get the Guava Chiffon then of course second choice would be the Rainbow Cake. I can’t remind you enough of those two delicious yummy light and perfect dessert selections. Customer Service: they are very helpful and not pushy. They will help you in making you decision.

It’s hard to say anything bad about this place The baked goods and cakes are especially great! I loved my guava cake and even though they messed up slightly on the cake, they were more than eager to fix it

31 Unilocal Review Challenge: 25⁄31 I’ve yet to actually step foot in a Dee Lite Bakery but already, I am very fond of it because it is home of the Rainbow cake(which I’ve been blessed to try on multiple occasions). The cakes have always been super moist, light, and each layer tastes so distinctly tropical. As far as cakes go, this is in my top 5 favorites. LOL, thanks to the pictures posted on Unilocal for Dee Lite Bakery-I also know that Dee Lit Bakery is also home of the infamous *ahem* cakes. True story… one time, while dining out, we noticed a bachelorette party across from us. I mentioned to my bf and friend how the cake box was so oddly shaped that it must have been an *ahem* cake. My suspicions were confirmed when about 5 minutes later, each of the girls took turns peeking into the box and snickering. Ironically, a second bachelorette party came into the restaurant and guess what they were carrying… Oh why must bachelor and bachelorette parties be so classy: p

If you haven’t tried Dee Lite bakery, you don’t know what you’re missing! They have so many tasty cakes, and donuts! My favorites are the guava cake, and rainbow cake! They’re located in Times Supermarket in Waipahu. Enter the store, and they’re on the right hand side. They have a cake display where you can pick up a cake, or if you need a bigger size you can pre-order. They require at least a week in advance for ¼, ½, and full sheets. They also write on your cake for free, or for an additional charge they can decorate it to a specific theme such as flowers.

Growing up in Waipahu, this was the only Dee Lite I knew until I started to drive. Now in my older state, I know that there’s on inside Shirokiya and their main location on Dillingham. But I’m writing this review to spread word of this place on the wesside, given the fact that there’s only one review! If you grew up in Hawaii, then you’re familiar with Dee Lite Bakery. If you’re from Waipahu, then you know that it’s inside the Times Supermarket on Farrington Highway, next to the old Honfed Building(remember Honfed?). If you’ve never heard of Dee Lite, then you’re missing out on some really good cakes! Guava chiffon, dobash and of course, chantilly! Soooo yummy and moist! They also make a pretty mean palm leaf and ladyfingers. If you don’t know where the Times in Waipahu is, it’s right across of Servo Auto Leeward. Check this place out!
