Would give a zero if I could. Waited 30 minutes to be seated, waited 10 more to even see a waitress and walked out to go to jack in the box. So depressing. Epic fail, don’t waste your time.

Tonight, they were quite busy, but to wait 50 minutes for our food to come out is pretty long. Our sever was really sweet thou, and she explained to us that their kitchen was backed up. Other than that, Dennys will always be our once every two weeks spot for us.

Very slow service! We waited like an hour for our food to come. And the waiter by the name of Teresa was extremely loud and rude. She shouted across the restaurant to her co workers and seemed pretty agitated. She made the environment pretty stressful and un-​enjoyable to dine in.

Always come for a late night dinner, always satisfied! Love when Sherri is working, she is the best.

Denny’s has always been a family favorite of ours, because of its reasonable price and proximity to home. Since moving from Kunia to Mililani, we haven’t been to this location in at least six months, so for dinner we decided to make a trip to Denny’s for some of our favorites. The restaurant was recently «remodeled», sporting new wallpaper and seating. I’m not sure if the restaurant’s configuration was changed at all, as it still had the same overall feel. There were about 3 or 4 families dining at the time we arrived, so it was surprising that it took so long for us to be seated. Our waitress was friendly but lacked a sense of urgency in taking our order. The strawberry lemonade that I ordered was not what I expected. It had real strawberries, which was nice, but the chunks were so huge that they kept getting stuck in my straw with every sip. My apple pecan salad was delicious, but the food took over 20 minutes to come — not what you would expect from a Denny’s. After we finished eating it took another 5 minutes or so for the waitress to bring out check. Despite the cheap prices and the nostalgia of the restaurant, for the service we received today, we may as well have gone to Zippy’s. I would expect that a restaurant would provide more focused attention and service if there are only a handful of people dining, but I guess that is not the case here!

NEVER AGAIN! Why is there no ZERO RATING option here?!
I came here one morning because I didn’t feel like cooking and cleaning up before running our morning errands. I just wanted to get in, have some pancakes, and get out, and start my day. What a mistake it was to go there… I should have gone to Koa Pancake House!
We got there bright and early, maybe 0700 on a Saturday morning. The parking for this place is ridiculous. I couldn’t imagine trying to dine here when the other surrounding businesses are open. We didn’t have to wait to be seated. Once we were seated, we waited for 15 mins just for our server to come take our drink order. I told her that I wanted to order my food as well (since I just spend 15 whole frickin minutes looking at the menu) as she was trying to walk away.
After ordering our food, our drinks came out about 5 mins later but our food… our food took almost AN HOUR to come out. What the heck?! And the manager didn’t even come out. At this point, there were about 3 couples waiting to be seated in the waiting area… but not because there was no room in the restaurant but because the greeter was missing. After we got our food which included pancakes and hasbrowns, we waited for our server to come back with pancake syrup and ketchup. We ended up borrowing a different table’s ketchup and ate our pancakes without syrup as mind you, we had been there for about an hour and a half by now. We were starving.
I went to find the manager and he apologized. He gave me one of my plates off a whole ten dollars. When I went to pay, the cashier was having issues and it took me ANOTHER 10 mins just to check out because she couldn’t figure out how to take the $ 10 off. She had to call the manager over to help her. I ended up signing a ticket without the signature block authorizing the charge and was not given a receipt because they were having issues. TWO HOURS LATER I walked out of the establishment. There are so many curse words I want to use about this place, but I’ll just say:
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.
I felt that after everything we went through, the manager could have at least comped our drinks too. I mean, have you ever tried to sit in a restaurant with an 18 month old for TWO HOURS?! Also, I couldn’t even see a reason why we received such poor service. There were several open booths, so they weren’t slammed, and there were several other waitresses in our area who ordered and got their food before us.
The only thing that was good about that place was the Pumpkin Pecan Pie Pancakes that we got there. I would definitely order them again next year if they have them, but it will most definitely be a to-​go order unless I felt like wasting several hours of my time.
Bottom line: DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. Go to Koa Pancake House in Waipahu. I wouldn’t waste your time at Kountry Style Kitchen in Ewa either.

Came here had a great salmon meal with potatoes and broccoli will be back very soon also had a great waiter her name was jo if you see her make sure you leave a tip see deserves it

Another 10 minutes to give them your money for these lousy service!!!

Went to go eat at this location today and don’t understand the management there because they were incapable of servicing customers: There were 2 parties waiting before me that wasn’t addressed (a total of 8 seats and a toddler). As I stood waiting, there were 2 management personnel of some sort at the counter ringing up 2 customers. The first one finished her transaction and then just walks right past the first couple waiting and doesn’t acknowledge them. The couple with the toddler asks the first couple if they were helped and they answered not yet and from that point I got irritated. Mean while at the counter, another customer approaches the counter and the last lady begins to engage but then stops and walks over to the first couple and begins to address them. When I finally walk up she asks how many and then proceeds to tell me there will be a 20 minute wait and on top of that another 20 minutes to order. The place wasn’t nearly busy and there were a lot of tables open so I asked her if they were short handed and she replies «no» then proceeds to asks me if I’ll wait. So at that point, I’m disgusted and I reply «no» and walk out.
The corporate offices of Denny should reevaluate their management at this location because they aren’t capable of running this restaurant. The management were more attentive to customers paying then they were of the customers wanting to spend money! It’s no wonder this place has 2 ½ stars! That is definitely not the type of perception you want your customers to have.
Get your shit together!

Very rude server. I’m a server myself and a big advice don’t bring your personal business business to your work place and have your attitude reflect upon your guest. If you’ve got something bothering you management should get a heads up about it and send your rude service home. For coming to Denny’s every week to enjoy dinner with my fiancé this is the first rude service I’ve receive at this location. Honestly writing this review while waiting upon this rude server that was assigned to our table today. Also another advice fake a smile because your getting paid to do this if you do not enjoy and hate this type of occupation big big advice GET A NEW DAME JOB. Today’s service 12/​21/​2015 does not deserve a dame star at all. Server keeps touching her ear and that’s not sanitary at all

I apologize if me coming 20 minutes before closing is inconvenient to you. But, like most people, we do our shopping late at night after work. You’re not the only one trying to make a living. We came to Denny’s because not only the food is good but we always get great customer service. Your first comment to us as you decided to take out order was «you’re my last table for the night. You guys had to come right before we closed.» Whether it was a joke or not, it was still a bit rude. And the nerve to argue with us because you missed the part where my friend ordered a certain menu item. Okay cool granted it was our fault, you still could’ve handled it a better way. We understand if you may have had a bad day, but sometimes it’s okay to let the people you’re serving know so we can be a bit more understanding. I’m sorry Danielle, but I almost just left my food and walked out just because you were rude.

I’ve been to this Denny’s a couple of times before the renovation. The renovation is really nice and all but the customer service is terrible. We got to our table and there was no utensils or napkins. When we placed our our orders we didn’t get our drinks right away, we waited about 15 mins. The frustration with the waiter and cooks are very entertaining to watch since there’s an open kitchen 7 steps away. Our waitress is no where to be found either. Our food took about 45+ mins and it didn’t look tasteful at all. I ordered an eggs in a basket and my eggs weren’t cooked at all, the hash browns were okay, and the bacon and sausage were okay too. I feel disgusted about my eggs. I also notice that customers were seated but not helped at all and they just left.
I honestly will not come here unless things change. And that is all.

Three stars because the poor girl that is working on thanksgiving is doing all the work. Ordered extra sausage because I was planning on sharing this with my daughter. Got home and noticed 1 extra sausage. Sad place.

Man this place has gone downhill, since the remodel. Last night me and two friends went for a dinner meeting at 7pm. The place was maybe 10%full, but there were three groups waiting to be seated. The Host did not even say how long it would take to get a seat. We waited about 15 min, and four more groups came in and still no one had been seated. At this time an employee walked through the mass of people waiting to take a smoke break. So now we have been waiting for 20+ min and there are 20+ people crammed in the front and no one has been seated or even addressed. So my party decided to go (walking in the rain) to another more expensive restaurant in the area, where we were greeted enthusiastically, seated immediately, and enjoyed excellent service with wine. I have dined here many times in the past but I might not come back.
UPDATE: I got a call from the Manager after posting this complaint on the contact section of Dennys website. He promised to work on it and he said he will get to the bottom if the issue.

If you want a good experience, get Auntie Jo as your server. We drive across the island to have her as our waitress. She is so sweet and loves the kids. Talk about someone that takes pride in her work!

I’m a returning customer at Denny’s is plainly based on it being a 24 hour restaurant and a 10 min drive from my house. Like many young adults, they want somewhere that’s CHEAP and open at 12:00 am. Customer service wise, I’ve lost hope. If Denny’s is the choice of the night then I’ll usually stop in anytime between 7:00 PM — 10:30 PM, the night manager is horrid (I think her name is Josie or Josephine). She always looks like she doesn’t want to be there and kind of walks around the restaurant with no meaning (by «meaning» I mean walks around for nothing, she doesn’t even check in on customers).
It was a pretty busy night and our waitress had notified us that the wait time for food would be 45 mins. We were starving and didn’t want to go anywhere else so we agreed to wait. My partner and I both ordered their Sirloin Streak medium well and 45 mins later it arrived burnt as toast. I cut into the steak and I had told her that I wanted it done Medium Well and she responded, «I’m sorry, we only do WELL-​DONE to ensure that it’s cooked». What? This is the first I’ve heard of this. Well, me being a nice person I brushed it off and sadly decided to eat the burned steak.
A couple weeks later I returned and ordered the Sirloin Steak again but this time Medium Rare. Did the waitress do it? Yes. Did the waitress state that they only do well-​done? No. My steak came out perfectly medium rare. Also to note that on this medium rare occasion, Josie (the evening manager) comes by the table and states, «Oh! That looks good; the cook did a very great job at cooking that steak.» Now, my best guess is that if a customer wants a sirloin steak returned to the kitchen they’ll give you some lame excuse so you can’t return it.
There have also been many occasions where I’ve witnessed customers walk out because they were seated by not greeted by a waitress at all. Also, the hostess NEVER stays in his /​her place; instead they wonder around doing God knows what, while the waiting area is getting filled with people. So, in all honesty… shitty service deserves a shitty tip and that’s the truth folks!

If you are in the Waiphau-​Kunia-​Eva area, you know there are very few place open 24 hours. Denny’s is the place we head to at 3 am when everything else is closed.
Classic diner food, they have breakfast anytime. Think skillets with eggs, potatoes, and cheese with your choice of meat, omelettes, pancakes and French toast. Their burgers are pretty good, I like the bacon-​avocado, but if you wanted to go all out, you can get a bacon-​avocado-​hash brown-​fried egg burger (send me a picture!), and get the onion rings, they’re good.
Family friendly, group friendly, and open all the time. Plus they have a cheap eats menu, so you can get something for $ 2, $ 4, $ 6, or $ 8.

Sad deal… Hot Chocolate refills are free only during the winter time. When did this happen?!

I’m actually surprise this Denny’s has low reviews, I have not one complaint about it. As a girl who was raised in New York, the only thing I had ever had close to Denny’s was iHop, and I always wanted to try this yummy diner that was constantly advertised on TV (you would think they would’ve wanted to build one in NYC). Anyway, this is how it all went:
Location: located in the Waipahu strip mall. Parking is a little tight but not horrible. We were able to get one right in front (BOOYAH).
Service: we were seated right away, the server was awesome! She was very attentive and every time we asked for something she brought it out right away. She was probably the most soft spoken person ever!
Food: I ordered the cinnamon pancakes with turkey bacon, scrambled egg whites and hash with cheese. It was fantastic! The pancakes tasted like cinnabons (YUM). My love had the Santa Fe skillet and added avocado to it, he enjoyed it so much. The first time it came around the eggs were a little too done and the server immediately took it and had it redone. Our little one had the chocolate chip pancakes with sausage and bacon. She absolutely loved it and ate all of her food! We were super happy :).
Overall this was a great first experience at Denny’s and I am definitely looking forward to try their lunch and dinner menu! Until next time…

When ever we go to Denny’s it’s always a Hit or Miss thing with them. It’s either the service and food is exceptionally awesome or vice versa! Sad to say I’ve experienced it both times where the food and service did not meet my expectations. Today I would say it was in the middle.
The waitress who took our order was spot on with greetings and making me, my daughter and mom feel comfortable. She took our drink order and returned quickly. Our order was put it. I got the turkey sandwich and soup special ($ 6) unfortunately the soup isn’t available till after 11am. But I was fine with French Fries (which was super yummy both soft and crunchy) my mom had the Eggs in a Basket special ($ 4) the amount of food for the price was a lot! And my daughter had a jr grand slam which she loved!
The only downfall today was the service. Halfway through our meal our server told us she was going on break and that the servers in the neighboring booths/​tables would happily accommodate to us as well. BUT they didn’t! My water was NEVER refilled and the 2 other waitresses did not check up on us AT ALL!
