Firestone Complete Auto Care

This review is for the 2 experiences I’ve had with this location, one was due to other places not having the tire size I needed to replace my flat, but they had it in stock and replaced it as quickly as they could, even when they were being slammed with customers at the time.
The second visit was a few months later, this time it was for an oil change, again they were quick, even with dealing with a line of customers! Even if it was just for an oil change, they did other check ups too, just to see if my truck needed any other attention that could be a problem later on down the road (no pun intended). I guess you can say that this’ll be my go-​to spot for car maintenance and repairs!

Great place. Service was excellent (Jason G) had great customer service. This place is by far the best Firestone I have encountered. Unfortunately, I had a flat, so I had to come in last minute. They seated me and gave me a time frame (1 ½ hours). My car was done in 45min (Subaru WRX). They would constantly ask if I was okay, and checked up with me to keep me updated. The representative (Jason G) was excellent at his position, he even recommended me different tires and why. The location was clean and welcoming. More than happy to rate this store 4 of 5.

I had to come here for a safety inspection that a different auto body was paying for and this was the only place I could take my car to. After hearing over the phone they accept walk-​ins for safety checks I came in last week only to be told they weren’t accepting any more cars for the day (although it was still early in the day). I made an appointment to come back this time to avoid any issues with not being able to get my car checked. The representative gave me a noon appointment. When I got to the office at 11:50am and went to check in the lady said that’s weird, they usually don’t give appointments for safety checks plus the inspector goes to lunch from 12−1pm and that I’d have to come back later in the day. I told her of my experience last week and expressed my frustration and she still said my only option was to come back later or sit and wait until the inspector has lunch. I decided to wait. It was frustrating because not once but twice they were unable to check my car. Safety checks usually only take 30 minutes so the inspector couldn’t go to lunch a half hour later? It was before noon when I showed up and I had an appointment. What saved this experience from getting 1 star is that the inspector must have taken a short lunch and was able to finish my car at 1pm so I only had to wait an hour for it to be done.

If therewas zero stars I would definately put a zero horrible customer after i purchased tires for 2 of my cars i got crappy service everytime I came to check my tire they said can’t because all full but you can leave your car all day but not guaranteed to get to it today like how hard is it to check the air in my tires. Now I had made an appointment 2 weeks in advance at 7 am because they had no openings. i get here and they said oh your appointment is at 9 am like wtf excuse my language but I made the appointment and I know what I heard never buying tires here again. Very disappointed. They need to work on customer service their mechanic has more awesome customer service!

Save your money, drive to another location! I usually take my car to the Pearlridge Firestone, I never should have changed! I took my car here on two occasions — the first time, everything seemed fine so I went back. The second time, after my oil change and alignment, my car started leaking oil. When I went back to check, they said sometimes things shift, so when my car was on the jack, when they brought it down something may have shifted — causing a leak that was there before to leak more. However my car NEVER leaked oil previously — ever!
Now, a few months later, I go to get my oil change/​alignment at Pearlridge (after vowing NEVER to go back to Waiphau). I get a call from Pearlridge saying that my tie rods froze because it looks like I haven’t had an alignment done in over a year. I tell them, no, I’ve been going to Waipahu every six months. So I call Waipahu, they take absolutely no responsibility, say they have been doing the alignment and can fix the problem (for the full price of course). They said that despite Pearlridges opinion that they haven’t done anything and the printout showing otherwise, that tie rods can freeze in a short amount of time and its just wear and tear.
Like others said, they cover the incompetence/​laziness of employees by their mechanics and shift blame to the customer. STAY AWAY. Drive an extra few miles and go to another location!!!

I come here very often because they generally do a good job and they are vrey friendly, but the only problem I have with this location is that they cover for the incompetence of the mechanic by shifting the «blame» to the customer.
My A/​C was barely blowing out any air, but was still cold. I made that vrey, vrey clear. The A/​C did not need to be recharged, and they did not recharge it, which is great!
So what’s the problem?
The problem is that my A/​C wasn’t blowing very hard. Almost nothing was coming out of the vents.
After two trips and several parts being swapped out (totalling over $ 500), they told me, and this is verbatim: «If it’s not cold enough for your linking, we suggest you take it to the dealer».
NOT COLD ENOUGH FOR MY LIKING?! It’s 100% cold! You know that’s not the problem Waipahu Firestone!!!
Instead of saying «Our mechanic had no business trying to fix this problem» they instead tried to make it out to be a an issue that only «the dealer» could fix.
Instead of teling me that I should take it to an A/​C shop, they wanted to make sure I wasted as much omney as possible by treling me to take it to THE DEALER! I already wasted $ 500 on them, but that wasn’t enough! They wanted me to waste even more of my money!
Meanwhile, I had a guy I used to work with check it out and he replaced the motor within 30 minutes and had me up and running with a powerful A/​C once again.
I really hate that I had ot waste so much money because their mechanic didn’t know how to change the fan motor for $ 150 total.
I hate that this location covers for the mechanic’s incompetence this way. Why do I have to pay for a service that was not necessary at all?

I was very impressed with the level of customer service from Daniel and Dallas. This is my first scheduled maintenance at Firestone and I will not be taking my vehicle anywhere else EXCEPT Firestone Complete Auto Care Waipahu. After a bad experience at another auto service center, Firestone Waipahu restored my confidence-​and trust– there are honest, reliable, and professional sale associates and advisors who have the customer’s best interest at heart. While I did not meet with the technician Andrew Caesar who serviced my vehicle, my car drives a world of a difference better.
Most important of all, I did not have to realign my seating or mirror (s) position. Yes, this is a small action to complete, but it is the small things that can turn a non-​believer into a lifelong loyal customer. Thanks to Daniel, Dallas, and Andrew; I’ am happy to say: «I will be lifelong loyal customer of Firestone Waipahu!»
I now have my car scheduled only at this location.

I’ve always had good experiences here at the Waipahu Firestone.
Always courteous and professional.
Easy parking (unlike Dillingham) & convenient for us on the west side of Oahu.
Reasonable prices and always specials available if you register online…
They finally solved my TPMS warning light problem after a year of going to various places.

Poor service. Took my car in & made me wait for 5 hrs only for them to tell me to come back tomorrow. All I needed was one tire changed, something that would of took 15 – 20 min to do, & they didn’t even touch my car.. «I’m sorry» doesn’t fix my tire or give back the 5hrs I wasted waiting when they said they’d do it.

We took our Mustang in for the lifetime aliment. I had a busy week & I had to reschedule twice. They were very friendly making my arrangements. I was told it would take about a hour and a half… but really it only took 45 mins. We used to go to the one on Schofield base — but we’ve had a few issues there. Mainly the tech didn’t know what he was doing… my husband being the super smart «car guy» that he is tried explaining/​teaching the guy — but the guy just wouldn’t listen. So we didnt get what we needed completed. Huge waste of time & effort. now we’re going to continue coming to the Waipahu location.

Called in advance to make sure they had the tire in stock that I wanted. I was told they are in stock and quoted a price of 55 per tire. Firestone’s site let’s you request a quote which came in at 53.99 per tire. OK, not a big deal. But when I go in, the service rep tells me the tire is discontinued and hasn’t been in stock for a long time, and I’ll have to get the next one up, for 63 per tire. I don’t know if they don’t know their product line or just poor customer service, but it seems a little shady to have someone tell you it’s in stock, the website let’s you quote it, and then you’re told it’s discontinued? Not too pleased with that service, and the added cost. Should have gone to Costco, I guess.

Free wi-​fi while you wait! Employees are polite & professional. Stop complaining about the wait cause’ you can’t rush vehicle service, quality over quantity.

I ask them if they can check my tire for problem because my tire light is on. Service advisor ask me do you have an appointment? My reply is I don’t have an appointment and possible that my tire has a nail. Response from the service advisor is their next appointment is next week. OMG! I purchased all my tires with Firestone with road hazard and they gave this kind of customer service. Thank you for putting air on my tires but I won’t go back to this store ever again.

With four hours left before closing and only two cars being serviced they refused my business. whatever, I won’t be stopping there again.

Waiting area is nice and technicians are good and very honest. They are across of some good food places. Use your Unilocal app to see restaurants nearby. Personally, I suggest Waipahu Café. Great for breakfast and families. Firestone is professional and have great warranties. Appointments will get you out faster than coming in without one. Although, most of the techs work quick.

Came here this morning about 730am to service my company vehicle. I did not make an appointment. They saw me right away and replaced a sensor and repaired two tires in about 1.5 hours. Will come back again.

The service here is awesome! I came in for a brake inspection and they didn’t try to pressure me into buying stuff I don’t need. I’ll definitely get my car serviced here in the future.

Scheduled an oil change appointment a week in advance. Arrived at proper time, 2 pm. Waited until 3 pm for my vehicle to be pulled into service bay. It was finally done at 4:15 pm.
A total of 2 hours and fifteen minutes for an oil change.
I did not realize that the free courtesy check I requested was slyly changed to a vehicle inspection. WHen I realized the mistake the technician did a lot of talking but did not apoligize. I later called the manager and was offered a refund.
This is NOT the place to go unless you have half a day. Will never get any service done here.

This is a follow-​up review to my last one of Firestone Waipahu on Farrington Hwy (so go read it).
Well, as soon as I drove out of Firestone Waipahu after having new tires put on and everything balanced and aligned, I noticed the alignment itself was still off — this time, pulling to the left. I thought after the adjustment and a few miles of driving, it would work itself back to neutral, but it didn’t.
Long story short, I called the Firestone guys up and let them know what’s up. They asked me to bring it in and in an hour they told me the entire front end (bearings, tie rods, et al) needed replacing. This wasn’t caught the first time around; subsequently when they did the alignment it immediately was off-​kilter the moment they set my truck down on the ground again.
Now get this:
1) They apologized. THEY APOLOGIZED. Said it was their fault completely. Said their technician didn’t spot it and that was sloppy of him. The guy on the phone told me his co-​worker was SLOPPY.
2) They said they would refund me the $ 90 it cost for the alignment I paid for. They REFUNDED me.
3) When I got back to Firestone, they explained what needed to be replaced at an estimated cost of over $ 1600 (ouch). The technician said the car was safe to drive if I couldn’t afford the repair now, but to come in when I could. THEY DIDN’T FORCE ME INTO A REPAIR.
The guy who helped me on this I feel was genuinely sincere and apologetic that they had messed up. If you ask me, they didn’t mess up — just an oversight. Regardless, they took it upon themselves to rectify the situation as best as they could. An apology and refund was perfectly agreeable with me.
Now, I’ve been to quite a few shops for repairs, and all save one were great. But these Firestone guys. they are excellent.
So read this; take this as you will. But ask me where I recommend good tire service and I’ll say Firestone Waipahu. //

So as I was heading to take the keiki to school a few glorious days ago, for some reason I felt like my car was tilted. You know, like I was driving crooked (and I don’t do drugs so it wasn’t that!). Somas I ventured from my driveway onto the roadway, my tire light went on. So I checked my rear tires in my mirror and all was A-ok…but I figured I better go to the gas station anyway. I end up at the light in Waipahu that intersects with FHB and Tesoro. I make my way directly to the Tesoro air pump. My front left tire is FLAT AS CAN BE! Ugh!!!
Thank God I made it to the gas station. After $ 1.25 (which equals to sets of air pumps into the tire), my tire was actually back to normal… until as I was squatting down filling the last pumps of air into it, I saw a screw in the middle threading area of my tire. The screw looked like it was the size of Kilimanjaro, geez!
So thank goodness for Unilocal, I searched for tire shops and found Firestone with its solid review.
I made a quick call, rushed over about 2 blocks and got my tire checked and fixed in a fair amount of time. Ron Tanaka, the customer service rep was friendly and understanding allowing me to change the news station to that of PBS Kids and Disney to entertain my two keiki.
Happy, content and relaxed after the stressful morning, I chilled in the reception area watching Dinosaur Train and Super ashy as my car was fixed in quality time. Awesome! I will definitely go back to Firestone.
