This was my first time at the Waipio location, I thought it’d be okay considering my previous experience at the Kaneohe and the ewa location but I was totally wrong. The customer service was great! The girl working tonight was so nice and really engaging with some customers I saw as I waited for my food. When she asks if it’s for to dine in she always asks her customers if they need a water cup just in case which I thought is great because I always think I don’t need a drink and I forget to ask haha The wait time for our food was surprisingly fast, the workers in the back stand near the little window thing and once they hear the first few things they go straight to work! The card reader thing takes a really long time and by the time i was done with that all my food was almost done like wow! It’s a great place to dine in with the family, it’d be good if there was a little TV to show movies or something, while people dine in or wait for their orders. I thought the little bento toy set things were the cutest thing, haha. This is one of the better locations that I’ve been to in my opinion(: I would come back to this location if I didn’t live so far

So we ordered a bunch of stuff and my sons finds a piece of plastic inside his roll… WTH right… so I call and the girl who answers the phone tells me its normal to find those things in it… ummmmm«normal???» I think not she wasnt sorry or anything so we ended up throwing away all the food because if thats normal then who knows what else we might find… and im not chancing it with my 2 younger children as they might not be so lucky to find it and might end up choking on a piece.

Usually get ok service today. Today not so much. I tried calling at 3pm for a take out order. Not during what would be a busy time. They asked me to hold but didn’t put the phone on hold or mute. I could hear everything. They did take an order but otherwise they were just talking story. Waited 6 min as I drove over. They hung up on me as I pulled into their parking space. Walked in and it was dead. In person the service was not friendly.

Got the worst food poisoning here. One piece of the spicy tuna maki. They didn’t really care, will never eat there again! Be careful, someone is not washing their hands… Or they used bad ahi. Not sure which is worse

Because im always at Costco these days im sick of chicken bakes and hotdogs. On the bright side Ninja Sushi is right here to save my day. Cost wise, everything here is extremely reasonable and affordable. For less that $ 10 you get a big bento with multiple options. Their bentos are also more than big enough to fill you up. The food quality is suprisingly good considering how small the place is. The mochiko chicken is savory and the teri beef has a nice tangy flavor. The sushi is also delicious. Overall this place is pretty bomb. Definitely suggest going here after a costco shopping trip!

This place is located near Costco Waipio. They have an extensive amount of sushi and rolls and combo bentos. On today’s trip I ordered the soba bento. Because I can’t eat egg or shellfish, they subbed out the tamago and Ebi and replaced it with maguro. I was also surprised that they give three pieces in their nigiri orders. The fish is fresh and food taste good. Because of its location, parking can be a challenge here especially on the weekends, but if your lucky and get a spot, this is a great place for lunch or dinner. They also have sushi platters for parties and potlucks.

Ninja is convenient sushi. It is good but not great. It is more for the person on the go with a budget in mind. You will expect to pay half for you pay at Genki. I purchased the Scallop Dynamite @ $ 9.95. It didn’t appear like it was shown on the photo and it was not seared. It was barely good. As for service, it was great… thus the extra star.

I was over at Costco and I wasn’t in the mood for Costco food. I called in my dragon maki because I was told it was a favorite of a friend of mine. It wasn’t good at all. It was the first time I’ve ate at this location. I didn’t eat more than a few pieces and I trashed it. :(They were however fast and had a good price point. I wouldn’t come back though because I have liked too many other options better.

Usually it’s hard for me to give a place a less than good review, but after eating here I couldn’t avoid the fact that the quality wasn’t very good. We eat at a variety of sushi restaurants and decided to give ninja sushi a try while running a few errands. There wasn’t a line and the staff were friendly but because the ingredients didn’t look fresh we sadly will not be visiting this location again.

I used to not be a fan of Ninja sushi since they are higher priced than Kozo, Kuru kuru and Sushi Bay, and they were skimpy on the amount of spicy tuna in their maki and temaki rolls. However, with the crazy hot summer, we’ve been hanging out at the Starbucks next door so I decided to give this Ninja sushi a chance again. I’m happy to report that it’s much better now. The service has always been friendly, the combo maki deals are good, and best of all, the food is very freshly prepared. If you like rolls with tempura shrimp inside(ie crunchy maki, tiger maki, etc), then you’ll be pleased that their rolls have nice hot crunchy tempura shrimp. Places like Kozo and Genki are always cold and soggy. They do lose one star for a funky smell that always there. My wife really dislikes it but I tolerate it and eventually don’t notice it. I think it’s a mixture of floor cleaner and BO. Tasty food though!

I come here all the time for the Sakura bento. Waay better than Genki hands down! I prefer this location over Ewa. If you like quick to order take out, this is your place. Prices are reasonable and location is great.

I’ve come here before & like an other ninja sushi place it’s been good until last night when I ordered the spicy udon. It’s was unbearable. I couldn’t even taste anything at all. I had to take out the noodles & was it out to actually eat my noodles. No soup was enjoyed at all last night. Yeah I ordered it to kill my sore throat but I didn’t expect it to be like this! Ordered the garlic salmon & it’s supposed to be cooked not raw. Maybe it’s because there is a sign that says sushi maker wanted… I guess we’ll have to try again when there are sushi makers back there & not front staff trying to make orders.

The best Ninja Sushi on the island in my opinion. I always get a combo w/2 different maki selections and takoyaki. At the Other locations every time I get my takoyaki it’s ALWAYS super hot. At this location I always get it nice, warm and ready to eat. My rice is always perfect and sushi is always on point every time! Never disappoints me! They are sushi gods!

Decent cuts of fish and good quality. A good take out place if you want a quick sushi fix though the nigiri selection is not as varied as a sit-down sushi specialty restaurant. That being said, there are a lot of specialty roll and bento options. Courteous service and fast. Price is fair for what you get. A solid 3 stars and would go back if I were on the go.

Ninja Sushi is my second go-to in the Waipio/Waikele area in terms of take-out. I usually order from Genki Sushi, but my phone call never went through(even after three calls). They missed out on a $ 50+ order, but that’s okay, we visited Ninja Sushi as my family was craving sushi. Ordered a few items off the menu: the ahi lovers, two teri chicken, and a sakura bento. So-so price for the amount of food that we received. Waiting for the take-out took FOREVER(20 minutes+), but no matter, we were still hungry and needed food fuel! When our order was called, I decided last minute that I wanted to get a drink to-go, and the cashier gave it to me on the house due to the long wait — so generous! The food itself tasted okay, but not top notch sushi as expected. The spicy ahi in my bento was a bit stringy and the food that was supposed to be hot was luke warm, and the cold food was luke warm as well. May or may not chance going back to Ninja Sushi at this location, but the customer service here was wonderful! Kind and attentive, could one ask for better service?!

This place is consistently good. Had ordered an aloha platter a few weeks back and it was a hit at my work picnic party at Ala Moana. Today I got the combo roll. I don’t like the skin of the eel so note to self don’t get that next time. Otherwise all is well. And don’t forget to show your military ID for a discount!

We’re going to Costco today??? Perfect, then I get to stop by NINJASUSHI!!! Every Costco trip ends with a plate at Ninja Sushi! I don’t even bother with samples at Costco because of it!!! I posted some pictures of what I eat here mostly. Ahi Lover and Negi Hama are my favorite! They always pack it with fish! What’s awesome is that the price is so reasonable! I’ll always be back.

Strike one… My wife had ordered a platter for her work and I was sent to pick it up. No, I didnt have a receipt with me so that was a mistake on my part, but still doesnt excuse what happened. I went in, and asked if a platter was ready for pickup under my wifes name for the time that it should have been picked up. The cashier says that we have NONE for the day! I asked her if she was sure, she said yes so I exited the restaurant and called my wife. After arguing with her about which location it was, she said that it was the Waipio location near Costco which is the one I was at. I told her to call the restaurant and to clear it up. So I went in, and the cashier says that theyre making it right now and she goes in the back to help(hide) the chefs in the back because my wife says that she yelled at them about it being on time since the staff was on a limited time lunch break. I ended up waiting and was given the platter without apology by any of the staff. For a non busy weekday, how does something like this happen? Obviously there is some procedure in place for party orders… someone dropped the ball on this one. Even if youre a ninja, I can see you. 2 more strikes and youre out!

One of the best things about living in Hawaii is the abundance of cheap sushi! Everywhere you go, be it busy downtown street corner, food court or strip mall, there’s bound to be a budget sushi shop serving up tasty nigiri and maki rolls. It’s not the freshest sushi, but it’s a healthy option to fast food and plate lunch! Or that’s what I keep telling myself… It was $ 7.99 for the hot udon with shrimp tempura. The shrimp were crispy and although fairly small in size, they were very tasty! I liked that the batter was dense because it made my tempura very crunchy. I prefer this over an airy batter that retains more oil. The udon noodles and soup weren’t anything spectacular, but I honestly ordered it for my baby Isabel. It would have been nice if there were cabbage or some type of green veggie in the soup. I also ordered a spicy ahi handroll which was a bit small in size for $ 3.29. The restaurant itself is fairly clean and the girl cashiering was very pleasant! I gave an extra star just for her genuine smile. She even brought my food to our table on a tray which I thought was a nice touch. No one has ever done that for me at Kozo Sushi! Not anything I’d go out of the way to eat, but we’ll be back when we’re in the area as it’s healthier than a slice of Costco pizza. Perhaps next time we’ll expand our ordering to something more adventurous… Unilocal 365 Challenge: #243/365(The Love Of Budget Sushi)
