This place is an awesome collection of local arts, gifts, etc. Everything from slippers to sun catchers to jewelry. Lots of very nice, local stuff. We went to probably 7 – 9 shops, this one was by far the best!

Wonderful gallery filled with Vermont-only merchandise. I bought two curly maple cutting boards, hand crafted by a local woodworker. They are so gorgeous, I had planned to give them to relatives but now I’m having second thoughts, maybe I’ll keep them for myself! The store also had beautiful jewelry, pottery, and other locally made stuff. The clerk was really helpful too, when I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for she went in some secret back room and emerged a few minutes later with just what I wanted. The shop is a few minutes off Rt. 100 right before the covered bridge. Quintessential Vermont.

Shop/buy local takes new meaning when you step into Artisans’ Gallery — where everything in store is made in Vermont! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve traveled and been in hunt of cool gifts or other unique souvenirs that appear to be made local — only to flip them over and see that they were made in China or elsewhere… very frustrating. Fortunately, Lori, the friendly owner of this art-variety store shares in that same frustration. Whether it’s a vivid painting, decadent cake mix, detailed glass tableware, intricate wood etching, or handmade jewelry(some made by Lori herself!), if it wasn’t made in the Green Mountain State, you won’t find it in Artisans’ Gallery! After exploring all the unique rooms within the store, I snagged myself some tangy jalapeño/horseradish sauce and some soaps, and my friend picked up a few things for his family back in NY as well. Fellow shoppers beware — whether you live down the street or across state lines, it’s hard to walk into this store and NOT walk out with something really cool… enjoy!
