This was one of the best meals that I’ve ever had. A hidden gem for excellent vegan cuisine and a cozy, romantic atmosphere.

This place is awesome. Great atmosphere and great food artfully prepared. We share the Mint Salad which was excellent, the farinata(very interesting) and the lentils & tofu with chili. Altogether a very nice meal, one of the best restaurant meals in a while.

The prices are high. The food was good but portions are small for the price. Sorry not impressed.

Exceptional small place, that is handled with utmost care and attention. After eating the same things over and over again, and consuming more pork than a wild wildabeast, I was actually desperate for some greenery. I went to a vegetarian restaurant… oh boy when does that ever happen? Luckily they had what I needed. A bit pricy for the area but worth it for the value, and a bargain if you were eating this food in any major city. I am talking if this place was in Chicago, DC, San Francisco they would charge even more. Intimate setting and quiet, and allows for a simple and attentive but not overbearing meal. The house Mint salad is hands down one of the best salads, if not the best salad I have ever had made for me. The pink peppercorns on it are just the jewel in the crown for it. Handmade pasta pappardelle with oyster mushrooms, delicate, soft rich and flavorful. House in made tiramisu, served in a cocktail glass as the soaked brandy layers slightly pool in the bottom to lap up. An absolute must try in the area, with a rotating menu of seasonal fresh ingredients, with perhaps the house Mint salad always on the menu.

Dinner was delightful. We ate there in early October on one of our leaf peeping trips around the state. The food was amazing. We all tried something different and everything was very good. Recommend reservations, as the first time we stopped there, they were booked solid until the next hour.

One of the best vegetarian meals I’ve had. Mushroom/spinach dumplings main course were light and rich with flavor. Our table ordered all five appetizers and each was excellent.

This is such a deserving place that I had to come out of Unilocal retirement to post. Mint is a genuine find: It serves sophisticated food with a variety of global influences. It also happens to be vegetarian, but I am fairly certain that even avowed meat eaters won’t feel deprived after eating here. The food is flavorful through and through, and the kitchen pays careful attention to textural combinations. The menu changes frequently, but on the night we went, standouts were the Swiss chard rolls and the southern tofu. I’m a big fan. We’ll make it a point to return.

If heaven exists this is it. Went out to dinner here on a whim and it was hands down the best tasting food I have ever eaten. My mother and I have been raving about it for weeks and cannot wait to go back. While I am vegeterian, she is not and she said they somehow made mousaka — traditionally a meat dish — taste exactly like it should but was entirely vegeterian. All the food was fresh and fragrant — you could see them cutting up everything in the kitchen as your ordered. Foods were unique but enticing and after the first bite i wasnt afraid to try anything on the menu. They even had glutem free options! We all but licked our plates — ten stars if I could give it that.

Mint. Where do I start! I’ve gone here with my boyfriend for two anniversaries in a row, and it’s been perfect both times. We’re both lactose and gluten intolerant, and as the restaurant is vegetarian, there is usually a lot for us to choose from. The menu is carefully designed and prepared by the owner/chef and you can taste the passion and love for food in every bite. Both times we’ve walked away stunned. The first year we went we both ordered the polenta with mushrooms and couldn’t believe how delicious it was! Mint is also a tea place, with some blends mixed in-house, but the food is the star. And I mean it’s really special. This is truly a Vermont hidden gem. The atmosphere definitely contributes to the cozy magic as well. If mint wasn’t so far away, we would most definitely go more often, but for now it’s a treat! The hours do change with the seasons, so definitely plan ahead if you’re going a distance to get there.

Even though our group walked in rather close to closing time(we hadn’t noticed their hours until we had left), the owners at this fine restaurant were gracious and did not rush us through our many dishes and our wine– very cool. This is the second time I’ve had dinner here and between the two visits, have tried several different appetizers, salads, and entrees. Everything seems to be topnotch quality, with excellent flavor and just enough variety to make it interesting. The menu is on the short side but when you can order anything, not having to worry about carcass being in it, it’s hard to decide what to order! I think this also ensures that everything is a good bet as they clearly take great care in how they prepare the dishes. A refreshing and excellent place.

I would love to eat here and give an honest review but when I left a message on the answering machine AND sent an email through their website, to try to make a special Birthday reservation, I never heard back from anyone. Pretty unprofessional. They may be good in the kitchen but the business end needs serious attention. I’m not even sure they’re open any more??? Maybe they gave up & decided to stick to herbs or something easy.

My husband and I decided to try this organic restaurant. Little did we know it was vegan but that didn’t matter. The food was outstanding! For starters I had the avocado and white cabbage salad with real corn chips and it was out of this world. That was followed but an amazing Shitake Stir fry that was so flavorful. My husband had their Mint salad and a Broccoli and Kale dish served on top of brown rice and black beans and topped with a spicy tofu sauce. Sounds amazing… well it was! All of the pod here was fresh and made with local ingredients. If in the area this is a must. Mint is only open Friday through Sunday for dinner so make a reservation.

Extremely delicious food at very reasonable prices. We shared a few appetizers and a few entrees, and literally every dish was out of this world. Very fresh ingredients in creative and filling servings. They had a small but nice wine selection, delicious little desserts, and a wonderful espresso. It’s a tiny town but worth a drive if you’re in the area! They just re-opened after the horrible flooding from Hurricane Irene — go support them and have a delicious meal!

I’m not a vegetarian, but I dined at Mint in February 2011 with several friends who are. Delicious meal in a comforting environment. I had an oyster special that hit the mark. Amazing tea selection. The organic, local, and ethical ingredients(incl. organic wine) make the dining experience something more than just consuming a fabulous meal; it feels like you’re doing something intentional and good for the world. Will definitely go back when I’m in Waitsfield again.

We had one of THE best dining experiences, bar none. I am vegan, and my husband is gluten-free and vegan. There were so many wonderful options it was tough to choose. We started with a pot of oolong tea, brewed to perfection. We shared a glass of Malbec and the mint salad sans the cheese. The combination of flavors with the mint dressing was amazing, and this was just the salad. My husband ordered the tempeh dish and I ordered the broccoli and potato casserole. We sat side by side so we could share dishes. My dish was creamy without the cloying fat of dairy. It was hard to believe that the rich sauce was made with tofu and soy cheese. My husband’s dish was a symphony of flavor bursts. I am not a big fan of tempeh, but I will be ordering this dish next time. There was a scoop of avocado along with salsa, black turtle beans, brown rice and steamed kale. The sauce on the tempeh mixed with anything else on the plate, brought different flavor combinations in my mouth. Somehow it all worked. Just amazing. We finished off with a shared piece of vegan, gluten-free coconut & chocolate tart. They have a completely different lunch menu and I cannot wait to sample it soon.

Mint serves an inspired«mint salad,» with baby spinach, baby arugula, Anjou pears, toasted almonds, shaved Parmesan, and more, in a mint vinaigrette. The flavor and texture of the rather succulent leaves with the generous blanket of melt-on-your-tongue, fine-shaved Parmesan and occasional freshly rough-chopped and toasted almonds was special — and well worth $ 10. The chai latte, at a bit pricier point of $ 7 per pot, was so yummy smooth, we ordered a second pot. Food 8 + ambiance 6 + value 7 + service 6 = overall 7.3 /10(good)

A beautiful, peaceful setting with exciting, delicious food. Wow! I am chuffed to find this very vegan-friendly vegetarian restaurant that strives for excellence in variety, flavor, and presentation. I love Vermont, but at many restaurants, even menu items with multiple red stars mostly lack heat. What a treat to be served an Indian dish with the perfect heat level for me. I had the deliciously complex Aloo Gobi, which was easily made vegan by being prepared with oil instead of butter. I would order this again — after I try most everything else on the menu. My spouse enjoyed a felafel platter, which I tasted. I might not think to order felafel at a restaurant offering so many interesting dishes, but this was outstanding and well worth it. We shared the vegan peanut butter chocolate tart and couldn’t stop ourselves from moaning in ecstasy through every mouthful. We had tea for two. We selected the chai made with rooibos, as we avoid caffeine at night. $ 8 for a pot of tea is steep, but the tea was perfect and our entire dinner bill was less than we pay for far less wonderful dining experiences. Our host, who waited on us, was gracious. She earnestly seemed to care about our dining experience and discreetly checked in regularly to ensure all was well. We shall return.
