Very friendly service. I went to Charlie ’ s for the first time about two weeks ago. I had the lamb gyros and greek salad. It was quite tasty and very reasonably priced. It could have used a bit more meat and a little less tsatziki. Overall it’s a pretty good deal.

I tried this place for the first time today for lunch. It was good, and I would likely have it again. I tried Charlie’s Special, which was gyro meat, greek salad, rice, and pita. Other reviews have commented on the rice being microwaved. That was also the case with me, which I didn’t mind. However, they microwaved it in the to-go Styrofoam container which, as you know, kind of melts a bit in the microwave. The rice was good, but it wasn’t awesome or anything. I thought the gyro meat was very good though as well as the salad. All in all, I’m glad I tried it and I would likely come back to try one of the wraps or gyros. I just probably wouldn’t try a platter for a while again. It does seem like a lot of people really like it as the place was very lively for lunch. All of the workers also seemed very nice as well.

Great staff, great food! Since it was my first time at the place they didn’t make me pay until I ate, just in case I didn’t like it.

I had the lamb plate with the Lebanese rice. Lamb was cooked well… not a lot of seasoning, but a bit of a grill taste. The Lebanese rice was a disappointment. According to the menu, it was supposed to be 7 spice plus walnuts and pine nuts. It didn’t seem seasoned well, and definitely didn’t have any nuts in it. Also, the rice was heated in the microwave.

Pretty decent little Mediterranean fast food joint in Wake Forest. The falafel was good and the portion of fries was just right.

Charlie’s is a fantastic place for quality Middle Eastern food! I found Charlie’s while traveling here on a business trip, and the food here is fantastic! Initially, I looked at the line for lunch, but one of the servers very gently implored me to come inside. And am I glad I did! I had Charlie’s special, fantastic gyro meat, salad, rice and pita. Then I tried my old standby, baba ghannouj. Both were fantastic! The place is noisy, lively and lots of fun! Go here, you will be happy you did!

When it comes to Charlie’s one is truly made to feel like family when they done here. Irregardless of one being a regular or a first time guest the staff here make each dish special and wow is their good great. Of course I love an authentic gyro and at Charlie’s I get more than just that. Not only will they make your gyro perfect and tasty but if you have a special request they gladly accommodate. For me, call me weird but I love kalamata olives to be graced on my gyro. Then rather than to get fries it is kind of a prerequisite for me to get hummus after all it is Greek/Lebanese style cooking. Their hummus is not only creamy but well balanced with just the right amount of lemon, garlic, and seasons. Now no meal is complete without their delicious bakalava. This simple treat is made of philo dough, honey, and either pistachios, pecans or walnuts. The rest is the rose water and some other simple ingredients that blend together perfect ally to make an amazingly circus of flavor in your mouth. Now one can’t forget about those fries that everyone enjoys to get so I did indulge in a side of fries. Keep in mind fries are usually just fries but at Charlie’s there is a special seasoning over by their ketchup that at one’s choice can be perfectly married to your fries for a burst of flavors dancing on your tongue. One other thing I did notice was the genuineness of the staff. Mid meal they check to see how your dish was and on occasions they may even strike a conversation with you. For this reason Charlie’s leaves no room for anything other than five stars and is a must try if one is visiting Wake Forest.

I love Charlie’s! The homemade pepper relish is superb and goes great on the hummus. Everything has always been so good and full of flavor. Charlie’s Special is my go to. Love it!

Love going to this place for my lunch break at work. Awesome salads and greek/middle eastern plates and sandwiches. The lunch special is a great deal for $ 7. Being in a strip mall as it is doesn’t allow it to stand out, but this is definitely one of the best spots in WF. Staff is fun and friendly too. A couple of outdoor tables are available as well.

I moved down from the Northeast recently and the very first restaurant I wanted to find was a new kabob place to replace my beloved Tigris Grill. Someone recommended Charlie’s, a non-descript little place in a strip mall. I am a vegetarian, and although veggie kabobs were not on the menu, had no trouble ordering one. I have been back several times since then, and can say that I have found a new favorite kabob place. Although I am used to Iraqi and this is Lebanese, I have quickly adopted to the changes and really love this place. The vegetables are fresh and the olive oil tasty. The pieces of vegetable are smaller than what I am used to in a kabob and there are no mushrooms, but they are well made. The hummus is excellent, and the garlic sauce is A+. The pitas are homemade but just so-so. The greek salad is very good, with a nice topping of feta/olive/spice mixture. The rice has heavy brown spices and, although I didn’t like it at first, it has grown on me. The servings are generous and the service is polite and professional. There is also nice outdoor seating. I highly recommend Charlie’s for a nice kabob dinner.

You gotta try their food! We were in the mood for something different when friends were visiting from PA. We got takeout and it was really good. Definitely will be going back!

As a traveling foodie — it is a privilege to find a place like Charlie’s! I stopped in based off the reviews… Rarely are such positive words truly accurate — but as stated over and over below: This place is wonderful! The food is delicious —(I too let the gentleman Ryan behind the line choose what to serve — it was amazing)!!! All of the staff are friendly, professional, clean and full of character — a special thanks to Ryan — The owner Charlie is friendly and welcoming! The atmosphere is neighborhood casual — with a high number of regulars coming in to get their fix. Thank you Charlie’s Overall: Beyond Worthy!

Solid food and very friendly owner. I ordered the lamb shawarma and enjoyed the heat that came along with it. For my side I ordered rice and was disappointed to watch it microwaved literally right on front of me. That was a bummer. Fortunately nothing else was microwaved and the lamb had a great amount of flavor. I’m sure I’ll come back for a gyro, but I wasn’t blown away.

Having read the reviews, I had to try it. The reviews about nail it. Awesome owner who is very friendly. I told him to surprise me with whatever he wanted to make. He asked if I liked spicy food. I said of course. He made a Shawarma with Lamb, along with hummus and Pitas and a Greek Salad. I loved every morsel. My taste buds are quite happy right now.

It’s nothing fancy, but I have honestly never had a bad meal here. Pretty much everything they have is awesome, from the lamb gyros to the shawarma. Even the pita bread they serve the sandwiches in is amazing. This is my be-all and end-all for Mediterranean style food, and I don’t care who knows it. All other options(at least in the local area) have so far paled in comparison.
