South Windsor, CT
This is the place to go in South County for fresh fruits and vegetables. I stay at a place in Narragansett, and go out of my way to get to Carpenter’s. It’s worth the out of the way drive.
Carpenter’s has the best corn in the area. They have local produce that is high quality at a good price.
I dare you to go in and resist the baked goods. You have to go in with a plan or you will get sucked in to several pies and as you are covered in strawberries or rhubarb when home, you’ll be asking, «How did this happen to me!» But it’s so good.
If you are in South County, support a local business, support local farms and buy great produce at Carpenters.

Don’t use these folks for any landscaping, yard work. The quality of the work is awful and the final price was way above the quote with half the work not completed. I’ve now heard from neighbors that they had the same issues. The pies are good though.

Their strawberry-​rhubarb pie was some of the best I’ve ever had. If you go on the weekend, that seems to be when they’re making them fresh. Good sweet corn and tomatoes, too. If you have little kiddos, leave a little extra time to wander around the farm. (There are goats, flowers, and big trucks!)

This is a nice, small, low-​key farm for a family visit. We did the corn maze and played among the pumpkins. We also picked up some yummy treats from the store. It’s the perfect size for a young child to run around.

Beautiful farm stand with lots to offer but everyone working there was unhappy, unhelpful, and almost annoyed to have customers. I would recommend a visit to friends but am writing this review in hopes that the owners will see it and give their staff a little pep talk. Even the teenage cashier was miserable. After we paid and said ‘thank you’ she was silent and looked the other way. How can you be in a bad mood when your summer job is cashier at a cute farm stand a mile away from the beach!!!

Free Hayrides were nice. My pumpkins were rotten after a week, though, which was strange. Maybe because all of the rain, I dont know.
