Happened upon this newly-opened pizza spot that’s taken over where Spartina’s used to be. Fantastic thin crust pizzas with quality and imaginative ingredients. The margherita is just what it should be with plenty of fresh mozzarella and good sauce, and the one with the spinach, prosciutto and lemon was lovely. They have a gas oven, and occasionally a wood-burning one for smaller pies, although that one also travels to catering gigs. Even though we had a house full of people expecting huge sub sandwiches, these pizzas received a very enthusiastic two thumbs up. I think La Scala will be a great addition to summers at the beach.
