Ocean Mist is popular for college students on Tuesday nights. You pay $ 5 and get 2 drink tickets that you can use at the bar. They play reggae music and it’s always a blast! I heard their brunch was amazing so I finally decided to go with my roommate. I went on a Sunday and it was pretty busy. We waited over an hour, which we were expecting. However, we weren’t expecting the 2 hostesses to be so rude. They did not smile once, and they treated us like animals. Although we were next on the list, they continued to sit larger parties and tell us they were going to seat us «soon». Once we(finally) sat down, everything was great! Our waiter, Dan, was very accommodating and friendly. We ordered mimosas which were pretty good and eggs benedict which were incredible. I highly recommend the pulled pork benedict. Served on cornbread! The environment is kind of loud, but definitely a fun time. While you wait, make sure to go out on the deck and look at the ocean – the view is unreal. I definitely recommend this place and hopefully the hostesses are in a more pleasant mood. 4 stars because the location is unreal, the food is pretty good, but the staff could be a little nicer.

How the heck have I never reviewed this place? I love coming here with my girls on Sundays for brunch. The view of the ocean is unreal. On Tuesdays they have Ticket Tuesday which is a 5 dollar cover that gives you 2 drink tickets and you can dance to reggae. recently I went on a trip sponsored by Omist and Harpoon that was so much fun and so organized(we went to Killington). Pete is my favorite bartender there he has found us a deck of cards at the mist and he makes some pretty bomb dealers choice mimosas… this place is a gem of RI. Always awesome events(saw Collie Budzz) awesome staff and view.

It’s your ultimate dive bar, been coming here for many years everything is great here, the food, the drinks, the ocean view looking out towards Block Island, great bands when they have shows, my type of crowd unlike the snobby places down in Narragansett, highly recommend coming here if anyone is coming from outside RI.

Quintessential Rhode Island. This place is a landmark and a must-see whether you are a local or a tourist. the OMist has some of the best views in RI, great live music and delicious Sunday brunch. For brunch, expect to find a line to get in and a seat hard to grab. But it’s worth the wait. They serve breakfast til 2. The place gets crowded so be prepared to share space! For food, try any of the omelettes, bennys or French toast(I hear it’s delicious). For drinks, Try the bloody Mary’s(spicy), mudslides or coffees(with love). And don’t forget to sign the petition to ‘save the OMist’ on your way out!

The spicy Bloody Mary was excellent. It was obvious they use fresh ingredients. Had the Crabby Eggs Benedict. Definitely enjoyed them. The potatoes that accompanied them, however, were sparse and relatively tasteless. Will come again though. Overall good experience. The servers were friendly and the view beautiful.

Wonderful place to stop for a drink after a day at the beach. The view from the deck is amazing and the drink prices are reasonable. Hello Narragansett beer tallboy for $ 3.00! I visited around five on a weekday and it was busy on the deck with both people dining and those just having a drink. There is a bar inside and a smaller one out on the deck as well, which I only discovered after I arrived.

This has to one of my all time favorite places. You can’t ask for a better beach bar. It’s right on the water(literally, when the tide comes in the water is swirling under the deck) so you have the best view ever. It’s the perfect place to sit outside and have a beer and look out onto the ocean or watch the sun go down. Plus they have awesome food and great music, with lots of local bands. The bartenders are always friendly, the atmosphere is super chill and it’s probably hands-down the best bar in RI. Cannot possibly say enough good things about the Mist.

I love this location. The smell of the ocean. The ability to talk to complete strangers and the delicious beverages. I never plan to come here for the food, but learned quickly how talented the kitchen is… If I can I always order the special and for the financially conscious breakfast sandwiches are a value you cannot pass up on!

My Favorite Bar The gem of Rhode Island. A real beach bar. This isn’t Misquamicut with the meatheads, this isn’t the Matunuck Oyster Bar in East Matunuck. This is Matunuck Beach, the working mans beach. The beach isn’t very big or nice, but it’s filled great unpretentious patrons looking to relax and enjoy the ocean. The main spot to do this is The Ocean Mist. A beach bum bar that is very dated with a great sea deck right over the ocean. They serve great drinks and they have mastered brunch breakfast with a Bloody Mary. Tip: Put your name in right when you get there, if you want to eat. It’s always busy. Tip 2: They always have live bands. It’s a great small venue go catch a band. If your the type that likes to grab a drink, maybe a little earlier in the day then usual, and enjoy it while standing outside listening to music on a deck overlooking the ocean. You’ll love this place. I admit, I do. Thanks

Crab and avocado queisadilla is to die for. It was one of the best feelings I’ve ever had biting into that thing. Only problem at this venue is some of the staff act as if they are irreplaceable. So you bite your tongue and enjoy the food.

Ocean Mist is one of Rhode Island’s best kept secrets and one of my personal favorite spots. You can sit at a table on the deck, by the bar or at a high-top table in front of the stage. The staff is friendly and relatively quick. The bartenders are cool and handle large crowds well. They are always hosting live music. After spending four years attending URI, I had only been to Ocean Mist for their infamous«Ticket Tuesday». For those of you who are reading this and reminiscing your Tuesday night’s spent here listening to Reggae and purchasing a $ 5 ticket good for two drinks at the bar, I’m right there with you! For those of you reading this who have no idea what I’m talking about… Well now you do and I’ll see you this Tuesday! I came to OMist brunch not expecting much, with the idea that if you got one of their Dawn Patrol meals you could get a $ 3 mimosa. Brunch runs from when they open until 2:00 pm. They have over 10 different eggs Benedict options and I want to try them all. More like, I would try them all but their Smoked Salmon Benny is too amazing for me to get anything else. The homefries that come with them are so good. They’re perfectly salty and a little crispy. My friends really enjoyed the Lobster Benny and the Irish Benny. The Matunuck Border was also a crowd favorite and their breakfast chimichanga seemed to also be favored. We split the nachos and they were perfection. The only«meh» thing I have to say about Ocean Mist is the slow food prep and the fact that you never know who your actual server is because different people are always coming up to your table. However, the atmosphere of local flavor, the view, and the DELICIOUS food makes up for all of this and makes OMist completely worth it.

I love Ocean mist! My husband and I visit year round! We love going on Sunday mornings for bloody Mary’s! I love the nachos! And they have really good bands here. We Love the view from the back windows & deck. The staff does an awesome job! I’ve been with my husband but also with friends and always run into someone we know!

What the Ocean Mist lacks in polish, it gains in serving booze at 9am when they open, the locals who are regulars, and the spectacular view. Due to ocean erosion, this bar that serves food is not at the beach, but on the Atlantic. Locals all have stories here, most of mine include day drinking. Unless it is ver foggy, you can see Block Island from the deck and surfers at Deep Hole. My favorite meal is breakfast: Matunuck Border Patrol to be exact. Come for the HS reunion, or to dine like a local.

When my friend brought me here for breakfast one morning, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The place is a total dive bar, with a decent-sized deck directly on the water. With a view like that, I worried the food quality didn’t matter. We beat the crowd(although just barely) and were seated on the deck, directly over the water. It was lovely. The food was amazing! I was shocked(and in heaven) to see a menu with 10 or so riffs on eggs benedict! I regret not trying any of their cocktails, but I had a long drive ahead of me. I ordered a special– it was a veggie bagel with black beans, scrambled eggs, and a picante hollandaise sauce. It was incredible, enormous, and I cleaned my plate. The coffee was exceptional as well. Overall excellent. Unbeatable view, friendly waitstaff, great food and menu options; I highly recommend. I will be dreaming of this breakfast and that view for many weekend mornings to come!

This place is a ritual for my son and I when we vacation in RI. The bar/restaurant extends out over the water, you can choose drinks or dine inside or outside on the deck, the view is remarkable regardless of where you sit. This place has a loyal local following as well as vast throngs of tourists in the know who patronize this hidden gem during the summer months. Lots of bikers tend to meet here as well, when we were there, there were no less than 50 motor cycles parked outside. We tend to go during the day when the crowds are more predictable. We have only eaten here once but the food was very good and everything I have seen leaving the kitchen looks wonderful. This is a Five Star S-Bum Bar you just don’t want to miss when you are in the area.

Really enjoyed stopping off here with friends after hitting the beach in Newport. It was lovely to grab a couple cans of Narragansett Del’s Shandy and watch the world go by. Our servers/bartenders were relatively friendly and flexible, considering the fact that our party of four was split on where to sit and flip-flopped from the deck to the bar a couple of times before finally settling in on the patio. The clam cakes were pretty tasty, particularly dipped in tartar sauce and with a side of Rhode Island chowder. Fish tacos could’ve used a white sauce to really bring out the flavour, but they were decent, as well. Taking a star off because the bar smelled pretty funky the second we walked in, enough that one of my comrades mentioned it, as well. It got better as we walked out onto the deck, but I wouldn’t have wanted to stay inside, particularly not on a hot day. Even for a dive, this has got to change.

The ocean mist is what Summer is all about. Ocean views, cold drinks, great patio, great vibe, and friendly folk serving up delicious food. The drinks were fantastic, from the cocktails to the great beer selections. The drunken lifeguard had me buzzed and happy. It may glow neon green, but it is both tasty and refreshing. It was like a margarita with a tropical twist. Our food really hit the spot after a morning at the beach, and although it took a bit to come out it was well worth the wait. I had the steak sandwich which was filled with large chunks of steak, ooey gooey cheese, and was perfectly topped off with some of their awesome hot sauce. The baguette that it was on was toasted to perfection. I went with chips and salsa for my side, and the salsa appeared to be freshly made which was a plus. I love the cool vibe that the Mist exudes. It’s a ‘come as you are’ place which appears to welcome guests from all walks of life. I saw college kids, families, bikers, surfers, and yuppies all taking in the salty breeze from outside and enjoying a lazy Sunday. I will most definitely be back again for post beach munchies and drinks because you can’t miss a kick ass beach bar like this on a Summer’s day.
