My girlfriend introduced me to this place and all I can say is wow. Awesome beer selection, always have trouble deciding on one. They have great food and fun atmosphere.

First time at Mews. Great menu selection. Anybody can find something they like unless they are just a whiner. Cool spot, all kinds of beers. I believe 69 different beer selections. Good crowd, good food, good service. I’ll be back. Ps. Buffalo Chix Dip for an app is bomb and the Goober burger, trust me I know, but it’s fantastic. We will be back and I recommend you try it. Really enjoyed this place, staff was sweet and they have a beautiful tree in the middle of the restaurant. The BBQ was alright, not the greatest I’ve ever had but some of the best in the area. Craft beer selection is well established and the buffalo chicken mac was delicious.

Oh the amount I love this place. Mews is great for a sit down dinner, drinks in the money room or one of the many event nights they have during the week. My favorite thing on the menu is the Buffalo Chicken Dip, it is seriously out of this world. My favorite drink is the blueberry pomegranate margarita, so tasty. The beer selection is also very great. They had one beer that was hazelnut and it went down so smoothly. Definitely will be back.

I’ve been coming to the Mews since the mid 90s. I really want to love the place. But after two sub standard visits, here is my review: The«No crap on tap» statement is true regarding their halfway decent beer selection. The same can NOT be said about the slop they push out of the kitchen. Tonight, I had a locally sourced grass fed burger. Too bad it was cooked unevenly(½ rare, ½ medium well). And it’s really too bad they don’t hand cut their own french fries. It is self contradictory to have«no crap on tap» but serve slop for food. Update your menu. Serve better food. You’re doing a disservice to your beer menu.

I went to URI in the 90’s and in my four years I never visited Mews. Say what? Mews Tavern is a great place for beer and a burger as they have a great selection of craft brews, our waitress was knowledgeable about their beers, and my burger was cooked perfectly with a side of delicious onion wings. I’m not a fan of all the dollar bills as it seems like a fire waiting to happen, but I guess that’s part of the charm. The next time I go to a URI basketball game you can be sure that I’ll head to Mews first!

Fun place! Popular w locals, tourists and URI visiting parents alike. Revamped menu w wide variety of choices for all. The pizza oven cranks out good pies & calzones. Several bars to hang out & enjoy drinks. The Mews Beer menu is second to none. Offer interesting beer tasting events. Place is always packed and doesn’t take reservations. So be prepared to wait or scope our seats at one of the bars. Can’t go wrong w this local joint!

Great craft beer selection. Good luck trying to pick some for the flight. Too many good ones. Food was very good, but the wait time is hefty so come early.

Great beer selection, food is very good and diverse. You have a choice of sitting in the restaurant, which is family friendly, or the tavern. The tavern has a unique charm, with dollars stapled all over the ceiling and walls. Tavern tends to be a bit noisy. There is also an upstairs bar that is roomy. Favorite dishes are the classic nachos(my go to choice) and buffalo bleu burger.

Awesome beer and atmosphere. Great Happy hour! Sometimes service is slow however this place is usually bumpin. One of my favorite spots to go with friends to grab nachos and a pint!

I’ve been coming to the Mews for years and I have always found it to be pretty consistent. The place has a relaxed atmosphere, diverse group of patrons and both a food and beer menu that offer plenty of different options. I would give this place 5 stars alone for their great beer selection. They rotate some great choices in on draft and if you want to maximize your tasting opportunity I highly recommend ordering a flight. When it comes to food I’ve had some hit or miss dishes. My favorite by far are their nachos… baked to melted delicious perfection. At the same time I’ve also tried both their version of poutine and the Flyin Hawaiian pizza both of which were good but not exactly the best I’ve ever had. On weekends(especially when URI is in session) this place gets packed pretty easily so expect a little bit of a wait and for service to possibly be a little bit slower than normal. In my visits the servers have been friendly and for the most part rather attentive. Overall, the Mews is a good choice if you love craft beer and are looking for a bite to eat.

As much as I love this place, I never remember to go so thankfully they were on living social which prompted the visit. Always a wait to be seated especially since I went on a Friday night but now they have a great system where they text you when your seat is ready. While waiting we went upstairs to the bar, there were plenty of seats up there and you could have eaten there so, always a way around needing to wait. The bartender upstairs was great! Knew all the beers, provided samples and suggested just the right one. The wait time flew buy and we were seated in the dining room which has such a fun vibe! Got the truffle fries… amazing!!! Perfectly seasoned and a great starter especially when accompanied by beer. Ordered the mushroom pizza which has lots of different mushrooms and was made in a coal fired oven. The other order was a burger with bacon and peanut butter… so odd but worked amazingly well together with a Caesar salad(croutons had the perfect crunch). So if you are looking for a fun night out with a great variety of beers and some great food you need to check this place out!

Update… my favorite beers were: Bucket Pawtucket Pale Ale, Whaler’s Strong Ale, Goose Island Summer Ale, New Holland Dragon’s Milk and Proclamation Derivative Pale Ale. Great selection to pair with outstanding menu and atmosphere. Is the Mt. EVEREST burger ever coming back, maybe have a «secret» off_the_menu code? Haha. Thanks! Randy Theerman

It’s been around a while and still manages to change and keep up with tastes changing. Recently, we enjoyed a night with friends. One of whom had never been to the Mews Tavern. Wiener Schnitzel was on the menu and I went for it and was not disappointed. A huge portion and the Spätzle was delicious. Don’t forget to try a flight of beer from the 69 beers on tap. Although my favorite is still the Decadent martini. I just usually Have to tell them how to make it since it’s no longer martini bar upstairs.

As a typical Rhode Islander the thought of driving forty five minutes for dinner does not appeal to me … Unless it’s to mews tavern. I’ve come here since I was a college student at uri. Mainly it was to drink and party but as I’ve gotten older I’ve grown to appreciate this place so much more for so many reasons. First the décor is great. No matter where you sit there’s always something cool to watch including the big tree in the middle of the dining room. And yes it’s real. There’s a lot of places to choose to sit. There is a large dining room and also a pub style room upstairs. If my memory is still correct they have a small room downstairs too that has more of a clubby feel to it that I used to spend drinking cheap beer and pizza. Speaking of beer they have 69 beers to try from and offer racks to sample. And the beers are mostly local brews which we always love to support. It changes often and if you don’t know what to get let the staff pick for you. You won’t be disappointed. Food is always good. The menu has all different kinds of food so even the fussiest of eaters will be happy. I had my usual standby blue cheese and my friend had a ecclectic peanut butter and egg burger which he really enjoyed gross as it may seem. Curly fries are the best side and Definetly have to choose over regular ones. They also have a card club that you earn points for free meals and towards apps and free dinner for your birthday. It’s worth it if you go a lot which I do. My brother moved to nj a few years ago and never comes Home without a pit stop to the mews first. If there were more than five stars Id give it more. Id recommend it and if anyone wants a driving companion count me in !

You will lead a perilous existence if your goal is to lubricate the beer-guzzling college crowd while also serving rock-solid comfort food to the community at large without alienating one faction or the other, or starting a food fight. But Mews handles this challenge with style by providing a kick-ass beer selection, a welcoming, upbeat atmosphere and excellent food everyone will love. Five mugs/stars goes to Mew’s giant portions of fresh fish and chips that hang over the edge of your plate. However, subtract a star for their not-so-authentic rendition of poutine(More gravy! more cheese! Come on, this legendary heart-attack on a plate barely roused my angina.) And Mews also deserves high praise for its consistent support of the local sports scene, especially URI athletics. So slip into your Keaney blue, grab your ID, find a designated driver, and have a great time.

The Mews Happy Hour is hard to beat especially for college students. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun. There’s always a long wait and once you try the food you can taste why. Here are a few more reasons why the Mews is bangin’: –Happy Hour: great prices on drinks and good food –GREAT beer selection –During the fall, they have a pumpkin cider with a brown sugar cinnamon rim YUM –Their burgers are one of the best menu items in my opinion and always consistent –They used to have a really good chopped salad –Their menu always seems to change slightly(new delicious things to try) –The dollars all over the dollar bar bring me back to my travels to Ireland –The Pink Panther calzone is unreal –The staff is always super friendly and very attentive –Moderate and fair pricing I’ll always keep going back to the Mews. It holds a special place in the RI side of my heart.

I’ve gone on a few occasions with my family & have always left satisfied. I have a simple diet of wings & burgers with craftbeer so the Mews is always on my list of spots to go so it means something when my wife & kids also don’t mind going. They have 69 beers available with«no crap on tap.» There’s something for everyone but I usually try to drink local so it’s always cool to see Proclamation Ale on the beer list in addition to Grey Sail, Bucket & Foolproof. They are also having a launch party for Wakefield’s own Whalers Brewery soon. They offer above average pub food. We usually get appetizers to split & love their nachos like everyone else seems to. I’ve had their wings too & they’re pretty good. I usually don’t like my wings breaded but the Mews doesn’t go overboard with the breading so they’re not soggy like most other places. I’ve been meaning to try a burger here but usually don’t want to gorge myself when we’re there. Overall you can’t go wrong with the Mews. Good food, great beer & family friendly. Bonus points for having Captain Eli’s root beer on tap & some hard cider too!
