I’ve been a somewhat regular customer since I moved to Wakefield in April. Great pizza doesn’t exist in this area, but Pier is perhaps the best of the mediocre lot. Last night I had a party to go to, and I wanted to bring pizza. I called at 6:30 and ordered two large pies for pickup at 8:30. When I arrived, on my way to the party, no one had any idea what I was talking about. Better yet, no one seemed to care. And yes, I checked my phone to make sure I had ordered from the right place. Thanks for the consideration. I won’t be back. I understand that people make mistakes. What I don’t understand is not admitting your mistake and apologizing for it.

Ate here three times in as many days. Grinders were hearty on that chewy, flaky bread, pizza was very good. Very fast, friendly, efficient. Ordered take out, went for a little walk, came back to dinner!

We had it delivered and by the time it got here, was cold! Wasn’t even in a heated cover to keep warm so we had to heat it ourselves! I like the pizza but geeeez… get a cover for the pizza!!!

Very good pizza. So far the best I’ve had up in RI. Very pricey though for pizza. So it’s a «once in a while» type of place.

Ordered a mixed pizza last night with their interpretation of what are chicken nuggets… I must chalk it up to Tuesday and being Summer in South County… pizza 18 inches… was thick and the flavor pretty lifeless. The extra few inches in cost was totally wasted. The sauce needs something. Not bad but just not good. The chicken should not even be served to domestic animals. Come on guys… you can do so much better

One of the best pizza places in the area, no question. A bit of a bummer that they won’t deliver to apartments near the URI campus, but alas. The pizza is standout enough to drive to go get it. Reasonably priced, with a huge variety of toppings and specialty combinations, it’s also, fortunately, NOT RI-style pizza. They say this is New York style, and it actually delivers. The crust is thin, but still chewy. The toppings are applied with a heavy hand. The pizzas are also kind of huge — they always seem to completely fill and even sometimes overfill the boxes. Value for your money! The peppercorn sauce is also a nice option when you’re not feeling a traditional pie.

I consider myself a chicken, bacon, ranch pizza expert as I get this pizza everywhere I go. I had Pier Pizza’s CBR pizza a year ago and still dream about it. Have tried others all over MA and RI –they don’t come close. Crust was divine! Toppings and sauce perfectly balanced! Chicken and bacon nice and crunchy! So tasty. Highly recommend. Wish they had one on Aquidneck Island!

Slow, overpriced, and really not that great. I’ve had true NY pizza before, and this doesn’t compare at all. I just find the pizza to be really greasy. Last time I ordered, it was a buffalo chicken calzone. It was just overloaded with cheese, and hardly any chicken. Not worth it for the price. Also I ironic how it’s «Pier Pizza», and there hasn’t been a location in Narragansett Pier in four years.

I love the pizza here. Haven’t tried anything else but the pizza is great. When I’ve had it delivered sometimes it can take a while but it’s worth the wait.

Ok, something is seriously wrong with their pizza lately. Was there a change of owner? Change of recipe? I was ok with the 45 minute wait for delivery but when I opened the box, the order was wrong so back it went. Second delivery was speedier but what in the world is wrong with the crust??? It tasted like a paper bag, completely limp and no crisp on the crust at all. THREESTRIKESYOU’REOUT, PIERPIZZA. Not going back again and hoping the new place next to Go Pasta, that will open soon, is better.

I enjoy Pier Pizza’s NY thin crust a lot. I especially like the Greek pie with fresh tomatoes and feta, add spinach. They have great pies, different combinations of toppings, and it’s not overly expensive. The large pizza here is larger than anywhere else in South Kingstown. Sometimes they’re a bit slow, but if you’re not in a terrible rush, it’s worth it.

I can’t rate the pizza, which seems to have good reviews, but I ordered two sandwiches and a «greek» salad, and it was awful. Starting with the service, which was unbearably slow(45 minutes while I waited, and then I had to go in and remind them I was waiting and it took another ten) and more than a little rude. I felt like I was in high school being snubbed by a cheerleader. If I weren’t in my 40s and somewhat sorry for the disappointment life is going to bring that little snot I would have wanted to smack her upside the head. The Italian sausage and meatball grinder was served with about a tablespoon of sickeningly sweet sauce and no cheese. Really. No cheese. Practically no sauce. The entire effect was like eating a dry piece of bread with roadkill. The Italian grinder was similarly sweet(I didn’t analyze the meat, but the overall texture of the one bite I had was just all-around poor ingredients, squishy and processed.) The dressing was tasteless. And the greek salad was the worst. I was looking forward to some vegetables after the mouthful of dry meat, but what was served was almost entirely flavorless iceberg lettuce with two thin slices of not-quite-ripe tomato, two rings of onion, a handful of canned black olives with some feta cheese, dressing on the side. Now I know that not a lot of places in So County serve a real greek salad(nb: no lettuce, equal parts tomatoes and cucumber, huge pieces of onion, and Kalamata olives marinated together in a vinaigrette with feta) but this Pier Pizza variation was abominable. They didn’t even bother to put cucumber on it – although frankly, that wouldn’t have saved it. At the end of trying to down this meal, I had to ask my dining partner, «If you don’t care about how food tastes, why would you open a restaurant?»

Pizza ! Down town location serves up from the counter or delivers and How. I am truly able to say one of the only New York thin crusts in the area. Lunch or dleivered always a treat!

Pier Pizza is my favorite pizza of all time, unfortunately I’ve moved up state and can only get there a few times a year. Their turkey bacon ranch grinder is definately awesome as well.

I’m originally from NY and I agree with the other reviewers who state that this is the best pizza in the Wakefield area(though that’s not saying much ‘cuz all others in Wakefield are awful). Nice foldable NY slices. They got the texture right but the sauce and cheese are a little bland. I find I have to add salt to bring out the flavor, unlike Vetrano’s in Westerly where the sauce has some tang and the cheese has a nice salty zip. My main complaint is the slowness! Why does a large cheese pie and a garden salad take«35 – 40 minutes?» I’ve shown up at 40min and still had to wait. The young kids who work there always seem stoned. They just stand around talking instead of working. Maybe it’s the heat? I can’t eat inside that restaurant. It’s hot, claustrophobic and there’s always an acrid smell of burned crust in the air. There are a couple small tables outside but they are never wiped-down and always filthy. Usually they’re taken by customers from the ice-cream parlor(Brickley’s) next door. Parking is a bear also, unless you luck out and a spot opens up in front. Usually I’m walking down Main St with a pizza box getting back to my car! Also it’s a bit pricey, especially their specialty pies($ 18.75 for a veggie pizza??). In short, I like the pizza, but hate the restaurant. Best idea is to send someone else to pick it up.

My hunt is getting closer to finding some good NY style pizza in RI thanks to Pier Pizza! I was able to get a slice and the pizza was good. If your looking for NY style, this could be as good as it gets in RI! Cool atmosphere as well, and nice outdoor simple seating. On a nice day this is a cool spot!

My heart flutters for Pier Pizza in Wakefield. Even the guys I work with dream of the wonders that Pier Pizza produces. We love this place. Everything about their pizza is terrific. A good variety of toppings: veggies, meats, etc. The dough is perfect and I quite like their sauce… I’m picky about sauce(Yup, I’m Italian.). If I may: The Big Rhody is a 28″ pizza delight. First, make sure you can fit that badboy in your vehicle as the box is so enormous you have to tilt it sideways just to walk through the doorway. I ordered one two weeks ago. They cut it into 36 pieces so I could put the pizza on a platter to serve as an appetizer for a cookout. The entire pizza was gone in 20 minutes. 20 minutes! That’s pizza love, people. Please go here. Best pizza in Wakefield.(Even though I do like Kingston Pizza, I prefer PP.)

This is in regard to this location ONLY — this is the original location. I’m a ‘New York Style’ pizza guy, and Pier makes the best pizza that approximates the true NY pizzas I remember from my youth. Of course, it’s not nearly as good as real coal-oven or brick-oven pizza, but for around here — South County — it’s the best you’ll get. Pretty good crust, thin but not really thin enough. Toppings are generally very good, and they have a great variety of specialty pizzas with some unusual items. One of our favorites is the BBQ Chicken, which has bbq sauce, BACON crumbles, and the chicken. I tend to be a traditionalist though, and usually prefer a simple pepperoni pie. I always get mine with extra sauce here. Their pizzas seem to be a bit light on the sauce for my liking. Still, easily the best in the area.
