The salon is nice the furniture needs to be clean and they often charge different prices for the same service and are always assisting you get a deep condition. The ladies are friendly but none of the stylist speak clear English they often don’t understand what service you are requesting. I think it’s very rude that the workers speak only Spanish in a salon where none of the customers speak Spanish. I am American if I had a business in The Dominican it would be a requirement that my staff speak Spanish fluently.

They single handedly ruined my wifes birthday! All I wanted was for her to be sexy and feeling good but they went all in on unprofessional service! Men! Buyer beware! If you don’t see a price list be prepared for them to take you to the cleaners! My wife has hair past her shoulders and no longer puts chemicals in her hair! It has a slight wave or curl to it and is easy enough for me to do it! Why did they make a big stink about length, all she wants is a blow out! We pay 30 bucks less in NYC so off the break way to high! They price was never consistent for a condition and God knows to find out the price of something is like asking for top secret government information! Then when she questioned the price more attitude came her way! Then my Trini wife couldn’t take no more in trying to negotiate the unfair price the women threatened to call the police on us! Hands down I couldn’t recoup the day if I won a million bucks and gave it to her that’s how bad the shark/manager treated her! Ladies save you hard earned cash and Brother who treat their ladies right drive past this place and seek services elsewhere!

I’ve been natural 3 years and rarely get my hair professionally straightened. This place was recommended by a friend and they didn’t disappoint. No appointment necessary I walked right in to a friendly receptionist and went back to the wash bowl. I received a wash and deep conditioning and the humidifier mister never had before. My hair was soft and silky after my service my husband couldn’t keep his hands out of it.

Great results. But not kid friendly ATALL! The stylist was unfriendly, unapologetic and extremely rough. When I asked her to be more gentle she didn’t even acknowledge me & kept pulling and tugging, pulling out a chunk of her hair. The lady in the front was very nice & tried to explain, but the stylist was not personable or friendly. Service is about more than the result. My daughter asked to never come back again.

I was charged $ 75 for a wash/blowout and flat iron. Although they guaranteed I could get a roller set, after washing they switched up and insisted I be blown out – at almost double the price. Good staff. Bad business.

I’ve been going to the Dominican Hair Salons for over 15 years. I was excited to see another one in Waldorf that’s open on Sunday. The process was extremely quick, less than 2 hours. I had a very thorough wash, hair rolled and set under the dryer for 40 minutes. The beautician was highly skilled with the round brush technique. I liked the fact that she put heat protectant on my hair, so I wouldn’t sustain damage, sense the blow dryer is really hot. I have natural hair and they only charged me $ 45! Needless to say, I will return to this salon. This is a quality Dominican hair shop, not some knock off claiming to be Dominican!

Don’t waste your time, because that’s exactly what you’ll be doing wasting your time. They were so so slow. I got a relaxer, was seated immediately & things seemed. When she washed my hair, & insisted I get a deep condition & a stream or mist thing I declined. I know my hair, it’s a waste of money for me especially since I pre poo my hair weekly. Instantly her attitude changed and she became icy. She then proceeded to place me under the dryer where she left me for too long. I complained because my hair is thin, it dries in no time. She gave me some cockamamie excuse about rolling my hair tight & refused to remove me under the dryer So I lifted the hood and leaned forward until it was done. Then there was this long ass line to get blown out. There were 3 girls but only was moving with any sense of urgency. When I finally got in the chair, she tried to blow all my curls out so she could flat iron it, then the curl it. That’s too much heat and i was like no absolutely not. You will not use a flat iron in my hair on top of a hair dryer and a blow dryer. Then she did a crap job styling it. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I won’t ever go back.

Do not go here! I went to the salon on the weekend cause I wanted to get my roots done. The owner convinced me to get a lighter hair color but to come back on Monday because its $ 15 off. She told me the stylist that would be doing my hair was«the best». She looked at my hair length, which was to my waist line & quoted me $ 150– the stylist came & looked at it & said it should be more since my hair was long, the price was set at $ 170. The following Monday I went to the salon, I was so excited cause we all know there’s a shortage of good salons for ethnic hair in Charles County. I had been growing my hair for so many years, I was ready for a change & excited thinking I had finally found a new salon… well I was wrong. The hairdresser began coloring my hair and kept complaining that my ends were very dry, I told her they didn’t bother me. She put the bleach in, washed it & then added the color. While my hair was still wet she brought over another hairdresser & they began saying my ends were dead, I told her fine just trim the ends– my first mistake! She cut my hair all the way to my shoulders, I was shaking & told her please don’t cut so much I can always come back to trim more, but she went scissor crazy! I let that go. Then she puts me under the dryer for an hour! There’s no need to be under a dryer for that long! That burns your hair & dries your scalp! I asked her to please turn it off, but she said no, «you need to tolerate it». I let that go, the she comes to me & says she talked to the owner & the price went up $ 30 cause of all the work she had to do! Being the non-confrontation person that I am I told myself that hopefully my hair color would be amazing and to just be patient-Wong! When I got out the dryer my hair was orange! Yes your read right it was orange! And the girl blow drying my hair– that dryer was so freaking hot! My hair is already dry why use a blow dryer on top of it??? I called my hairdresser over & showed her the mess! She agreed it was horrid & said she could fix it, I said fine. She started to put more product in my hair, dried it to see if the color had changed– nope! So she added more product! Then I told her just leave it, the other girl started blow drying my hair, with that terrible heat. My scalp was in so much pain. I asked to speak to a manager — they called the owner, I told her how disappointed I was, I was nearly in tears. I mean– this was hair that I was growing for years! Now chopped off & orange! She asked me to send a picture & she will try to have it fixed ASAP. Well one week later & no phone call. Please don’t go here if you like having hair, this place sucks & my hair is proof of it. I would rather travel to DC, pay the same price then go to this place that lacks professionalism & customer service. By the way all that heat is very bad for your hair.

if you have natural hair, find a salon where your hair is celebrated, not tolerated. my hair is about 2 inches long and unpermed; it’s not curly, it’s tight. price: i was charged $ 65 for a wash, blow and flat iron. maybe it’s just me but i think that was too much. customer service: not very warm or friendly. at one point, i flinched while getting my blow, as i usually do, because the dryer is hot. she mumbled something about my hair being«too short» with a frown on her face. oh really? i’ll go back to sky salon in la plata next time and also look for a nice natural salon; there are plenty in the dmv area. if i’m going to pay $ 65, i’m going to get great customer service and a stylist who embaces natural hair.
