Very good breakfast. Nice to find a hardy meal in a tiny town. Friendly staff and good service.

Had a great breakfast. There was no fancy menu items but the eggs were cooked as we asked; mine was poached husband had over easy. Coffee and service was good.

Little restaurant across from Ray’s Market. Outstanding foot and service. Very friendly. Clean bathrooms. Everything homemade. My husband had an omelette which he said had the best country gravy he has ever tasted. My hash browns were awesome. Homemade and nothing like I’ve ever had before. Soooo good. We will definitely be back many times. Thank you Carol!

CASHONLY On our way out of town we saw the reviews and we’re excited. Got there and saw a sign on the door that said they don’t take card. Asked the worker who was outside and he told us that he «doesn’t understand why she does that» and that there was an atm at the store down the street or a few banks in the area. Not going back.

Food is very, very slow in getting to the table. And as a restaurant person myself the cleanliness and sanitation procedures leave a lot to be desired.

Great basic food. Nothing fancy but what we’ve had has been good. Carol is a hoot. The sausage patties are great!

This is a small town diner., We stopped by for a late breakfast before heading out of town. I think three people working, the cook, the busser, and the waitress. As such, while service is good, don’t be in a rush because it’s going to take a while. As for the food, I think it’s a bit hit and miss. Some of the items we liked, others, not so much. Waldport is small and there aren’t a lot of options. Knowing what I do, I’d only come when I know that I have plenty of time.

Coffee is terrible and they only have sugar or Sweet n Low. The service was excellent(Linda)! The hashbrowns ARE greasy. People aren’t kidding! My husband had the Pancakes. They were HUGE. He said they were pretty good.

We stopped at Carol’s on our way out of town, we sat our selves per the sign at 9:55. We had a large group, 4 adults and 4 older kids, so we had to split between two booths. We ordered our breakfast with in 10 – 15 minutes of sitting down and didn’t get our food until 11 o’clock so plan on waiting a while for your food. Food was good but a bit greasy, clam fritter was yummy. The kids all enjoyed their food when they finally got it but as parents we were disappointed to have our food served 10 minutes before our kids. If there were ½ stars we would have given Carol’s a 3 ½ stars losing a star and a half for slow service and serving the adults before the kids. Next time we are in Waldport I don’t think we will come back but glad we gave Carol’s a try. Oh and FYI no kids menu and CASHONLY

Great place to go if you want great people and super yummy down home breakfast or lunch. Carol the owner and her staff really make you feel like family when you walk in. We eat there at least 2 to 3 times a month. It never dissapoints.

I have eaten here many times. Food and overall expectation is consistent. Small place only seats abut 40 people. Food is good and prices are ok also. Good place to get a nice breakfast. If busy service can be slow since Carol is the only server. I do recommend this restaurant.

Excellent greasy spoon. Things are made to order fresh. I could barely get out of my seat I ate so much. This place doesn’t have coconut milk or other alternative foods but they are happy to leave things off for you. Truly an American café.

Carol’s Café, yes they have there locals here, it’s a little town. What can you expect. The food wasn’t all that bad either. The biscuit and gravy wasn’t the best I’ve had, but I finished it. The hash browns were excellent My wife had poached eggs with bacon and muffins it looked good too. As far as the locals they greeted us which I found unusual but it was nice. I would go back again the next trip here.

A hidden gem. Superb breakfasts. Ave not tried lunch. Fluffy pancakes, dry hash browns, and eggs done just right. Yum-Yum. We are from metro area and come here every time we get to the Newport area.

We went here because someone told my Utah in laws it is a good breakfast joint. It’s ok. Regular American eggs and suchlike. Most of us had the special for $ 6, 2 pieces of french toast plus 2 eggs plus 2 pieces breakfast meat. Coffee was good, not great, but drinkable. It was reasonably clean, there was cool art on the walls, and our server was brisk and efficient. My breakfast, from a part of the menu labelled«hashbrown specials» called«Neil’s» had two poached eggs on English muffin halves, two link sausage… and no hashbrowns. My mom had a huge pile on her plate though, so she shared. My poached eggs were perfect. There was no kid’s menu, but my kid found her scrambled eggs with diced ham to be just fine with her, as were the fluffy pancakes that went with them. Beware the icy stares of the locals when you walk in, though, they’re not exactly happy to see a group of 7 cityfolk(here for Spring break, I felt like it was in neon on our foreheads) invade their space. This place doesn’t advertise, and the sign on the street is different than the one on the building. Further, the windows are all covered with blinds on a cloudy day… it’s a secret breakfast joint. Outsiders, begone!(ok, just kidding, it wasn’t that bad, the kitchen guy came out and said hi to us). After we saw the cinnamon rolls go by, though, we understood. they were saving them all for themselves! They looked YUMMY. We will have to go back.

Local diner of crusty locals. No ocean ambiance here — just basic breakfast fare prepared well for a decent price served by informal but efficient and friendly staff. Removing a star for not accepting credit cards.
