Good burgers, onion rings to die for. Happy servers and quick cooking time. I bet they get super busy on summer days. Can call ahead and place your order for pickup.

Frozen processed slop… avoid if possible. Ordered a cheeseburger and fries with a milkshake. The lady pulls out a premade cup from the freezer and makes the shake, tasted stale like a fridge. The place has potential as a drive in in this little town yet it lacks knowledgeable and trained staff.

Stopped by on our way, southbound. Exactly what you’d want when going to a drive-in; good service, food, and fast.

Came in just before closing. The clam chowder was hot and still fresh tasting, lots of big potato chunks and clams, but it was a little on the salty side for my taste.

I have been going here since I was a kid! Love the feel(thanks to Vicky), food is AMAZING, and really convenient. You have to try the chocolate shakes!

The place was old-fashioned and charming, but I found the food«meh.» Based on the positive reviews, I ordered a hamburger, which was pretty mediocre and very messy, obviously crafted from a frozen pre-made patty. The fries were greasy and limp, and the oil they were cooked in was just slightly south of fresh. One was enough for me. I think it’s kind of funny that Vickie’s «drive-in» doesn’t have drive-up service. There is some outdoor seating available in unadorned and very old wooden picnic tables. It seems that quite a few locals patronize the place, as they were recognized and known by name. There’s a lot on the menu, so maybe I should have ordered something else. In keeping with fair reporting standards, my dog thought everything tasted just fabulous!

Vicki is personable and the food is tasty and fast! The clam chowder may have been one of the beat i’ve ever had with big chunks of bacon! We had a fish sandwich basket with fries, an incredible bowl of clam chowder & a root beer float for $ 17. Left stuffed & happy and we’ll definitely make it a point to stop by to eat here again next time we’re passing through!

Best burgers ever! I plan my trips to the Oregon coast around my visit to Vickie’s Big Wheel. Fantastic shakes in lots of flavours. Tater tots and jo-jos round out the meal. All burgers are made fresh to order. You just can’t get any better than this. If you are expecting a high-priced, gourmet burger, this is not the place for you. If you love the tastiness of an in-n-out burger, you won’t be disappointed.

Have visited twice. The first time – generic…and am perplexed that they charge extra for fries. The burger was just OK. Went back for a second visit, the burger was better — maybe it was just my mood, but not outstanding? There was something very tidy and unremarkable about their burgers. I really love something falling apart and greasy and cheesy and sloppy. All in all, a bit generic, but twice is my limit… for now?

Great little Ma and Pa Burger/Hotdog place right before the bridge. They have fab shakes, fries, fried mushrooms, hot dogs, shrimp etc at a reasonable price. Counter service. The kids would love this, great if you are in a hurry. At 285 N. Highway at the corner of Spring.

Love it here! Everything on the menu is great, and it’s got a friendly, old school diner feel. Burgers great. Hidden gem: grilled turkey & cheese with tots!

With our rental car warning light and console telling us we were driving on 10PSI of pressure and counting down, we miraculously limped into town and had our tire fixed. Next door to our life saving gas station sat this unassuming flicker of flavor shack. Upon entry I was greeted by a very friendly staff of two who quickly took my order. As burger(and much more) places go, it looked familiar, however; the burger and fresh cut fries I received were a pure delight to my taste buds. Good quick eats. Located just south of the bridge into town from the north — don’t miss it. Ohh, and the tire repair mechanic’s wife made my burger. Gotta love small town americana.

Frozen burger patties are not a way to star in a burger joint. The toasted bun and fresh toppings kept it from being 2 stars. Fries are crisp and tasty. Banana malt made from soft serve ice cream and artificial flavoring… go for traditional flavors and avoid artificial aftertaste. 5 stars for friendly, attentive service. Will try other grilled sandwiches next time.

I have eaten here many times and I agree with other posters that this is one of the finest burger joints anywhere. I asked them once why their food was so good. They said they use local ingredients. That seems too easy of an answer to me. I got food poisoning after eating here once. It might not have been because of Vickie’s, because we ate at other places on the coast. My wife got it too. I don’t care, I keep coming back: that is how good this is. Get the bacon cheeseburger basket with a chocolate malt(not a shake, a malt). You can watch that lady literally work up a sweat cooking your burger and fries. The secret ingredient is love.

A really, really good diner style burger with ample portions at a reasonable price. Our family’s been vacationing in Waldport for 20 years — I can’t believe we hadn’t discovered Vickie’s before today! Vickie’s is a small owner-operated diner/burger joint. Vickie clearly takes pride in the meals she prepares. Her fare reminds me of the best diner hamburgers of my childhood, We ordered cheeseburgers, fries and onion rings. Each burger arrived stacked high with chopped lettuce, a little onion on a perfectly toasted bun. It wasn’t drippy or soggy, but left room for you to add additional ketchup or mustard available at your table. I think Vickie’s fries are PERFECT. They were golden brown with a crunch– the last fries were nearly as crunchy as the first ones. The amount of fries on a cheeseburger basket($ 6.50) was enough to serve 2 people. Onion Rings are another nostalgic item I associate with a diner, Again Vickie’s were excellent. There were 6 – 8 thick golden brown rings in an ample side order for $ 3.00. They were among the best ones I’ve had in recent memory. Vickie is a friendly caring proprietor. I’m sure if her restaurant hadn’t been so busy, we’d have had a great conversation. If you’re passing through Waldport on the Central Oregon Coast, I recommend Vickie’s as a great place to stop.

For a road-side burgerstand this is as good as it gets. You come in expecting independent ownership and all the character that comes with it. The owner is working there. They also engage you, asking questions about where you’re from, where you’re going and how you’ve been. They know their customers and treat them very well. Food is made well and is true to it’s intent. It’s a burger joint, simple, great-tasting meals without any gimmicks. The portions are large and the prices are small. Thank God places like this still exist. If you live in, or are travelling through Waldport get to Vickie’s.

This place was better than I expected, for sure. It sits on the east side of the highway right next to a gas station. But the burger! Oh, the burger! The bun was perfectly toasted, producing an almost audible crunch when your teeth make it through the soft pillowy bun exterior. Then you get the hit of cheese, the meat, and the freshest veggie toppings… lettuce, tomatoes, onion chunks(not minced or rings), and some surprisingly good pickle slices. The lettuce and bottom bun was sauces only lightly, allowing for the addition of mustard and ketchup without making the whole thing soggy. Did I like it? So much I went back the next day!

We went into the Big Wheel because my Father in law wanted a milkshake. Never mind that it was pouring rain and 40 degrees. He wanted a hard ice cream milkshake, Vickie’s doesn’t have those. They have great soft serve treats though, and all kinds of flavors. My husband had a root beer milkshake, Mother in Law had a marionberry and hot fudge sundae, my mom had a vanilla shake, my kid had a root beer float… my father in law settled for a chocolate double malted shake and I had a peppermint hot fudge shake. YUM! all those treats cost just under $ 20. The woman waiting on us, who I assume was Vickie, was very nice and even dealt with my father in law’s «hard ice cream» thing with grace. She explained she prefers soft serve because you don’t get little ice cystals in the milkshake that way, quite true. We will likely go back for food another time, it smelled great and they had all kinds of things on their menu, from fried seafood treats to burgers to chicken salad to hot dogs… all priced reasonably in a clean cute little place. If we hadn’t filled up on seafood before the milkshake run we probably would have gotten more stuff… but we always go back to the coast, so we will get another chance at Vickie’s offerings. MMM. I personally feel my hot fudge peppermint shake was totally rockin.’
