my first time here and i was amazed by the service and the food… had 2 stellas and the check was fair… it’s our new traditional american restaurant in bergen county.

Pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and outstanding service. For a family of four it is always challenging to bring young children out to restaurants. Amsters was a low key restaurant that was perfect. My wife and I had burgers which were both delicious.

Excellent food! Best mozzarella bites ever! Also cheesesteak eggrolls are another can’t miss! Just wish the croque monsieur would come back!

Stopped by for a few drinks and some appetizers with my husband. Food was decent and average priced and drinks were weak and overly priced. I got a weak jameson and ginger ale and it was 11.50!!! I have never once been charged 11.50 for a mixed drink. besides NYC maybe. I was extremely dissapointed because it’s a local townie bar. You’ll never see families you’ll just see the local drunk ks at the end of the bar each day so when we got our bill and saw$ 50 for two drinks wings and fries… we were shocked. If they charge 11.50 for a mixed drink they should warn people before they order…

Food was tasty but $ 11.50 for a mixed drink is just crazy… Not even bars in the city charge $ 11.50 for a Jameson and ginger! Go for the food but avoid getting any drinks… Unless you want to get ripped off that is.

This is a really good spot. I’ve driven by it so many times wanting to check it out as a bar. When we actually stopped in we were very pleasantly surprised. It’s a great balance of neighborhood bar and restaurant. The food is a couple notches above «bar fare» and definitely worth coming just for the food. Family run & very obvious that the neighborhood knows each other in Amsters.
They have patio seating in the back of the building that is quite nice & offers a great option for a nice afternoon/​evening.

Stopped here the other day for lunch at about 1:30. Walked in and walked right out. The place was empty just one drunk looking guy sitting at the bar alone. Got a bad vibe so we left.

If you’re looking for food… look further. My old favorite pub took a crap today. Came for my favorite lunch and wasn’t even offered a menu after sitting for 20 minutes.

Oh yeah, this first-​timer will be back. Someone in the kitchen cares. Mozzarella bites «best» as advertised, excellent burgers, French dip, and hey, that broccoli rabe special with chorizo, outstanding. Get a few craft taps and I’m home for the winter.

Was heading through the area on 17 and decided to look for a local place to have a real sandwich. What a great find. Nice clean atmosphere, kind people and super food. We loved the mozzarella appetizer which is home made. The cheese steak sandwich was great and the turkey rueben excellent.
If I lived in the area — this would be my regular place for a bite to eat or even just a beer with friends.

The food is really good. The burgers are great but my recommendation would be the French dip and it’s even better if you order it with mozzarella on top. The beer is ice cold too.

I’m almost hesitant to share my secret, but that would be too selfish! Great patio dining, incredible value, excellent service and delicious food. Everyone there seems happy from staff to patrons. I felt like I was dining amongst friends.
A.P.T. Could be my new favorite goto place.
But please, don’t tell too many others, I’d hate for the secret to get out and change the atmosphere!

Great Little local bar. Nice quiet place to have a few and watch a ball game. Food is typical bar food but good. Place is always clean and even has a back patio that if you were not told in advance you would not know it was there.
