As advertised. Read reviews and decided to try for pizza. It was fantastic. Great atmosphere and friendly staff and patrons. I’m from out of town and was here on business. Hidden gem. Try it.

Had dinner with our 2 grandsons. Pizza was really good. Them my older grandson wanted steamed claims, he really did enjoy them. Then we had ice cream Sunday’s — very good. Our waitress was better then good. I really would recommend Nellies, a great local restaurant with a bar.

Was sat down at table promptly. Sat at table for 7 Min and no waitress came, so got up and left.

I went here with my family for a casual lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I heard that they had redone it and someone I was with had been before the improvements and said the atmosphere was not great, but the improvements made it better. The pizza was excellent– thin crust which I like and they had some delicious speciality ones. The buffalo fingers were also really good. We came around lunch time and the place really started to get crowded so it seems that it is more popular with the improvements. All in all, I would go back and recommend this place to people.

A nice regular spot for me, I love the pizza. Tonight I was watching the staff, and I am perplexed. I was waiting by the front door for the usual Friday evening 45 minute wait. No issue there… seeing the waitress scoop ice from the ice bin, using the glass, made me nuts. ServSafe rule broken there, as a trained instructor for food safety, that bugs me. Things falling into said ice bin and just picked out and thrown on the floor, yikes, not sure if it was food or debris. Note to self, do not order anything that requires ice. Watching a party of more than 12 people take up the entire center of the room, just chatting and hanging out, knowing there are tons of people waiting, on woman at the end was texting someone, and I was reading over her shoulder, lol, «we are just sitting here talking and have been done for a while» no one ordered more drinks or anything… management, ask them to leave, we were seated and finished our meal and they still had not gotten up. Went for dinner. It was very crowded. The hostess, while nice, didn’t project her voice to call people when their tables were ready very well.
It was clear they were down one wait staff member that evening, so I won’t dock them for slow service.
The salad bar was yummy, but they were missing a few items and didn’t replace them.
The pizza we ordered was good, but it was a bit doughy and cut inconsistently.
The renovations look nice. I’m willing to try them again. It was good, but not the best.

Came on a Saturday and sat in the bar area. Both beers that were on the beer menu and that I wanted were not available and eventually was shown a written list of what was left available.Fine. Ordered Wings, a Fra Diablo Pizza and Fries all great healthy college football foods. The wings came out and ate a few flats but then ate a drum and noticed it was a little pink, fine… Then ate a bigger one and was really pink actually red by the bone. So after about 10 minutes trying to find the waitress whcih was MIA we told her it was undercooked. Now clearly you can see in the light they were under but she came back and said the manager said its not under because they double fry them. First off why didn’t a manager come to the table and explain to me and apologize. Secondly why would you try to rebuttale with a customer if you can clearly see it was not cooked throughout. Single fry, double fry, triple fry i don’t care, they were undercooked plain and simple. Fries tasted bland and weren’t crispy as well but the pizza did have a nice taste to it i must say that was the only saving grace. Service and food was way below average, i was really disappointed.

Horrible food. Went on pasta night (Tuesday). Good service bad food. The salad bar was really good though! I don’t know where these good ⁴⁄₅ star reviews are coming from.

I think this is gonna be our new local pizza place. We’ve had takeout twice and both times we ordered thin crust, and gluten free pies. The thin crust is really good and crispy, just enough cheese and sauce. Plain pies are less than $ 10, how can you beat that? The gluten free is really good for gluten free but creeps up to the $ 15 – 20 range when you add toppings. We haven’t had to wait more than 15 minutes for the order to be ready. Score!

This was the most horrendous food experience of my life. The waitress was extremely obese and kept getting her fat rolls and sweat on my face when she leaned over me to put down utensils, plates, etc. We had waited over 1 hour for our food when all we got was burgers. The food is only edible nothing special about it. The employees were rude and inconsiderate. Definitely will never be returning again. Nellie’s Place is more like Smelly’s Place.

I went back and I tried the thin crusted pizza, and as I was told it was delicious! I would definitely give it a 5 star thin crusted pizza rating. The rest of the food was alright. I got the Chicken Milanese special, but asked for it over penne pasta instead because I figured I’d just enjoy the salad bar.
It came out on a plate by itself with pasta in a side bowl and it wasn’t penne it was linguine. Also, we ordered 3 bowls of pasta fagioli and 2 of them had like 2 – 3 pieces of pasta while one was loaded with it.
Overall, great pizza but average everywhere else.

Stopped here the other day for lunch with my wife. I had the Rasher burger which is a burger with Irish bacon and cheddar cheese I had it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. My wife had the Salmon lunch special with capers over spinach also very good. Her dish came with the salad bar that has many different items. All the items on the salad bar look and taste very fresh. We had a small sausage pizza for appetizer as I have heard that the pizza was outstanding and believe me it did not disappoint. We each had an ice tea and the bill only came to $ 35 dollars before the tip. We were surprised as to how reasonable it was. I can’t wait till I’m in the area again to stop in and pick up a couple of pies to bring home. Definitely a good spot especially the pizza!!!

I was talked into going to this place for pizza and wings. And it was horrible where the hell do these people get these reviews from? It quite obvious that the reviews come from friends from the establishment
We ordered wings and they were freezer burned! The pizza was terrible!!! Tried the nellies special it was mostly broccoli awful awful pizza. The plastic cups they gave us had cracks in it the waitress sat in the corner drinking a corona out of a bottle and kept burping while we were eating!!!
My recommendation. Do not go here!!!

Being that I grew up in the town Nellie’s is located in I’m a little biased. With that being said, I do really believe that it’s a great place to grab a drink and order thin crust pizza. They also have Elkin chicken wings, which no one really knows what’s on them but they are so good I have to get them every time. I try to get something different but I always resort to the basics because you can never go wrong. They recently redid the inside bar area and it’s a lot nicer to hang out in. During the summer months the back porch is open so it’s nice to sit outside and have a good meal. The staff is always very friendly and I never feel pressured to leave.

Nellie’s has always been our favorite pizza place, tonight just solidifies that. We ordered take-​out, and by mistake our side dishes were not what we ordered. I called up to let them know, and spoke to a gentleman who apologized and asked for our address and that it would be dropped off. In about 20 mins, our side dishes were delivered by the owner of Nellie’s. He went out of his way to make sure we got what we ordered, and we couldn’t believe how nice and awesome of a gesture that was. Thank you again for going out of your way, we really appreciate it.

Nellie’s is the best place to go when you want to grab a good meal! I’ve been going here fr many, many years and never have been dissapointed. Their food is quality, and very good priced! Their sandwiches are huge, I always take half home with me. And they have a great salad bar too! They recently renovated this past year and it looks fabulous! Would go again and again!

I came here over the summer with two of my guy friends for what I was told was going to be the best pizza I ever had. It was good, but not the best pizza I ever had. Apparently they are known for their thin crust pizza and ill say it was very good but everything else was sub-​par. We got the muscles with red sauce (nothing special). The staff was very nice and attentive, i always had a full glass of water and soda.
The pizza i chose was a bacon pizza and there was bacon all over it which I was pleased to see. The crust was excellent and crisp just as promised. I would honestly only go back just for the pizza if that.
