This place is a must whenever we are in the area. The breakfast is always phenomenal and the service is just as good. I love the small cozy feel of the restaurant and we cant wait to go back.

We have a cottage pretty close to the critter café and go there often. This place is small, friendly and locally owned. The women who wait on you and cook the meals also own it. You can hear all sorts of local news without having to pretend to not listen. In fact you can join in and not be out of place. The food is well prepared and brought to you the moment it is ready. Coffee cups are refilled regularly. Large servings– huge pancakes – great breakfast specials and the prices are more than fair. I don’t understand the bad review mentioning pancakes and creamer – my grand kids adore getting those plate sized, fluffy treats and they have never been disappointed yet. Also if you ask for it they will pour you a little pitcher of real cream. This is kind of a cross between a local pub and your mom’s kitchen – if your mom was a good cook and served huge country breakfasts. Unique kind of place.

We enjoyed a great lunch here. My husband had the breakfast special(including pancakes) and I had the Texas beef sandwich and we both had pie for dessert. All really delicious. Friendly atmosphere and attentive service.

Great breakfast! Friendly faces! Local local local! Homemade pie, delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The business owner is very proud of Country Critters and the quality comes out in the service, selection, and savory foods! Great welcoming stop for out of towners, as you head to the Lodge or the Lake.

Do whatever it takes to not eat breakfast here. Not enough liquid in the pancake mix, so dry, disgusting pancakes. The hashbrowns tasted like yesterdays hamburgers on the grills. And they only have non-dairy creamer for the coffee.
