Odd salsa. Kinda sweet and looked like canned salsa. The veggie and black bean quesadilla was filled with spinach and broccoli. Also odd. I was expecting peppers, onions and tomatoes. It was good enough.

We have been at Café Zona Rosa’s many times over the years and have enjoyed fresh food and great drinks. The quality of the food has gone downhill. Our favorite chips were way too salty, salsa not the same and guacamole was whipped like butter. So disappointed with every meal we ordered. Not good when a 9 year olds says the quesadillas taste like a paper plate and the adults agreed. The carpet was full of chips, I don’t know what has happened or if there are new owners. The waitress was very nice and worked hard. Walker, MN is quaint and fabulous on a beautiful lake. Please bring the higher quality of food back!

I was a bit apprehensive to eat here after I had seen the Unilocal reviews but I had a burrito craving. We were seated on the patio which unfortunately is on the opposite side from the lake so no view. The hostess and the waitress were both pleasant and attentive. I ordered the stuffed chicken burrito with sour ream on the side. My burrito was pretty good or maybe I have lowered my expectations for Mexican food after a summer spent in northern Minnesota, The atmosphere was good and it was a lovely day and I enjoyed a beer and a burrito.

Yikes! We’ve had good food in the past but this time was very disappointing. The fajitas were not«sizzling», the vegetables were hardly warm and the chicken seemed microwaved. There was no seasoning in the fajitas, they were very blah, as was the rice. Will not go back until we hear otherwise. Ps. The bartender gal was very friendly and she did a nice job with the margaritas.

Yikes. My family and I visited this past Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. We have been here numerous times previously and had good experience, but I doubt we will be back anytime soon. My dad and I both ordered bloody marys, which were okay. Only garnish was two olives(ew) and a lime slice… why no pickle? Disappointed. I ordered the walleye fish tacos, which were okay, but not great. The rest of my family ordered fajitas, and their toppings were brought out at the same time as my food. The problem was, they did not receive their actual fajita meat & veggies until about 20 minutes later!!! I was already done eating, and their toppings were getting gross and melty in the afternoon sun. The server did not apologize, just said there was a mixup in the kitchen and did not offer any solution. Additionally, the manager stopped over when they were awkwardly waiting for food, watching me eat, and we told her what was going on. She said she would check on it, but never came back to follow up afterwards. Definitely NOT worth the 85 dollars(for 4 people). I wish we would’ve went somewhere else, and will do so the next time we visit Walker. PS – Bathroom was gross, no soap and paper towels everywhere.

I don’t even know where to begin. We were seated in what looked like a lobby with people coming and going out the door. Someone waiting to be seated next to our table was clipping his nails! The menu is bipolar(pizza and burgers at a Mexican place?) with prices that are too high. The salsa was sweet and tasted like it was from a jar. It took over an hour to get our food. The food was inedible. We had fajitas and the veggies weren’t even cooked. The rice was oily and looked like it was cooked with soy sauce and the beans were burnt. Our server was a ditz and wasn’t helpful. I would give it no stars but that wasn’t an option. My advice steer clear and go somewhere else.

Family friendly restaurant with great service and passable Mexican food for Minnesota… The house salsa was homemade, and the Walleye fish tacos were scrumptious. The kids menu was pretty standard, nothing to get excited about. They had a bin full of books and toys for the kids which was cool. Décor was gawky and cheesy but fun. Service was exceptional despite the crowd. Dos XX Amber on tap was a pleasant surprise!

Mexican restaurant that caters to the locals sensitive taste buds. It isn’t that bad, but the price is a little overwhelming. Seems like they cater to the bar at the opposite side of the restaurant a little more than the actual restaurant. It’s a nice place to go eat lunch or an early dinner, but it can get a little loud and rowdy later on in the night.

Calling Chef Gordon Ramsey!!! This restaurant needs some help. For starters, the place is supposed to be a Mexican restaurant, but the menu is all over the place … Burgers, pasta and something that appears to be a Chinese, or Thai dish … Which wouldn’t really be a problem if the food were good. I got the cheese burger, because when I saw the menu was so varied that the quality was immediately suspect. It’s nearly impossible to screw up a cheese burger, and my burger was fine … It was also fairly expensive considering I could have gone to any of the outdoor park grills with hamburger meat and some charcoal and made the same thing myself for 1⁄10 the cost. Others in my group that did sample the Mexican food fair, reported food that didn’t sit well with them … I’m glad I went with the average cheese burger. The restaurant wasn’t really bad, per say, the staff was courteous, it’s got a nice outdoor sitting area and it overlooks the lake, but it was pretty clear that it needs to focus its menu on a specific type of food and get better at cooking that food.

Average Mexican food for a slightly higher price. Service was also terrible. I think this place has potential and will be given it another shot, but my fingers aren’t crossed on this one

Minors drinking at the table next to us… Horrible service from the waitress and people having sex in the bathrooms. This place was unreal and won’t be forgotten anytime soon!

First timer… excellent food and good margarita. Prices seem a bit high at first, but you get a huge amount of food and leave there full. My neighbors in the cities love this place and I see why. Tasty food, delicious guacamole, great service. Wss there for dinner on a Monday evening and it was packed. Guests were waiting for tables when we left. Enjoy!

Decent place for lunch in town, but I don’t feel the need to go back soon. It seems like more of a Saturday night place. The service was OK but we did have to wait when we got there despite being one of the only groups. The food was fine, given the location, but the guacamole and beans seemed like they came straight from packaging. Any attempt to work on the favors would be an improvement. We had fajitas. The tortilla were fresh, but the meat was a bit over cooked and dry. The fajita veggies were really just onions, which was a disappointment. I might go back next summer(I did really like the chips and hot salsa) but its not a guarantee.

I’ve been here once a year for the last few years, and it seems like it gets a little more mediocre every year. I just finished a lime margarita(pretty tasty) and the veggie enchiladas. The veggie enchiladas I received were very different from what I was expecting. Expectations: onions, peppers, mushrooms AKA fajita veggies. Reality: broccoli enchiladas. So gross. I suppose that is what I get for not specifying beforehand. Even so, I was not impressed with the cheesy, broccoli mess. I’ll give it another shot on next year’s vacation.

Quick lunch service and a decent margarita on our visit last Monday. Chips ok with little if any salt. Salsa good and seemed homemade. Happy to be able to have a choice of beans(black or refried) rather than brown goop from a can. Ordered chimichanga that came with green chili sauce. Sauce was hideous and tasted like they ground up bay leaves and pickling spice with some chiles. So overpowering I could smell the stuff from 3 ft away. Cleared it off and ate shredded beef filling abliet a bit salty. Guest meal was rated good along with the service. Asked the server to have someone in the kitchen taste the Green Chili sauce, they did and removed the entrée from our bill. Will give them another try!

very awesome place. Loved the service friendly genuine service the place was busy and our server was very good. The cheese is plenty and yummy I had the cheese enchilada and rice. I loved the flavor of the rice and texture. I will return and look forward to it again next weekend day trips to Walker from Brainerd Mn. Happy Hour is a great idea and look forward to that too. Large menu and love the pictures of the food. Cozy atmosphere in the dining area. Big City feel to it nestled in the North Woods. Perfection. Yummy Salsa and unique flavor to the salsa.

Awesome Mexican food and margaritas in Walker. Had the green chile baked stuffed taco with a side of beans. My meal was awesome and the chips and salsa were as well. Definitely my favorite place I’ve ate in Walker.

Decent low end Mexican place. Very«rented» vibe from the tables and chairs. Food was quite decent but the drinks were a bit weak, I’m afraid.

Went here twice while visiting my in-laws. The food was great each time(I recommend the enchiladas w/black beans on the side — very tasty!!). My husband enjoyed the boneless buffalo chicken wings(very spicy!), even though he loves bone-in wings! The enchiladas were delicious and I ended up taking half of my meal home. The chicken fajitas were a little bland but they gave me a ton of cheese, so I couldn’t complain! Only downside — on our 2nd visit, our server was very inattentive. She brought a pitcher of water to our table of 6, but didn’t check on us at all until it was time to give us our tab(about an hour later). Overall, the food is very good. Even though it is not very spicy and Spanish words on the menu are misspelled, the restaurant is pretty darn good!
