Great coffee shop, always packed with an eclectic mix of students, locals, farmers, and the odd tourist or two. Homemade pastries are a great addition, but the independent coffee styles are what’s great. Not too bitter and very fresh, plus a décor that reminds me of the edgy and original walla walla style rather than polished look the town seems to be trying for(unfortunately) now. Will be back.

I was in town for a couple of days and was excited to stop into local businesses to have great experiences and support the local economy. This coffee shop js right behind Starbucks and I opted for it since Starbucks doesnt need any help paying thie rent. The pastries were very yummy looking. Appeared fresh and lots of options. I deckded to try one of the special drinks from their list and it was honestly one of the worst drinks I have had. I feel like it was more the flavor combination than the product itself so I feel like I would go back and try something less adventurous. There is free wifi and I had planned on hanging out and working but there isnt a lot of seating so I just left sjnce all the tables had someone at them. There was also a homeless man(I assume) sleeping on the ground just ouside of their shop so that was a little bit weird.

Always get a tasty drink and a baked good here. The breads, banana, zucchini, and others always top quality. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

My favorite coffee shop in Walla Walla. You can go to Starbucks a few steps away, or come here, the small local spot. It’s comfortable, with a couple of couches, a fireplace, several tables and lots of seating. There are always a few Whitman students here cracking the books and doing the college student coffee house thing. Friendly place, good coffee, nice people.

Good coffee but would not take my family there again. Swearing and inappropriate conversations in front of my children. Some from customers and some from staff. Not the coffee place I remember in the past. 4 stars only for the coffee.

Great coffee, awesome service and incredible fresh pastries around the corner from Starbucks. Walk a little further and give this small business a try!

OK… full disclosure… I do not drink coffee. I know, I know. Coffee Perk is my favorite coffee shop in town. It’s low-key with comfy couches and tables with chairs in different configurations. Great hot chocolate and they’ll make a special one for the little kids in your life — making sure it’s warm, not hot. Italian sodas are good too. Coffee shops tend to get reviewed for their coffee. But Coffee Perk has another asset — their food! An impressive assortment of goodies is in the display case for such a small shop. Baking is done off-site but very fresh. The peanut butter brownie is to die for! Lemon bars are divine. There is a small but delicious assortment of salads, sandwiches, and soup. Great place to stop for lunch and decent prices. Walk on by Starbucks and support a delicious local business!

I’ve been going to Coffee Perk for years and they are a big hangout for various groups like Whitman students and retirees. They are community oriented and host a number of local artists in their shop. Fair amount of tables and comfy seating with good service and a variety of snacks. They used to serve decent lunches but stopped that a while back. Now they have a selection of home made sweets, some pea salads, quiches and croissant sandwiches. I’m a tea person and so can’t comment on their coffees though they look pretty good and lots of people come in to order them. Their tea selection is pretty good though they don’t use loose leaf only packaged/bagged teas. Really a great place to chill out in Walla Walla.

Enjoyed a steaming hot cup of chai latte the morning after indulging in two very long nights in Walla Walla for the Gentleman of the Road World Tour stopover. The warm aromatic flavors of the tea was very invigorating yet relaxing as I sat with my husband on their porch reminiscing on the last 48-hours in this cute little town. To be honest, we chose this place because Starbucks, which was just around the corner, had a crazy long line, but were happy with our decision since we were able to share a nice, relaxing moment before our long trek home.

I’ve been in the coffee business before(Selling, making, roasting) these folks do it right! When you find downtown starbucks, walk 30 more feet and go here instead.

Local coffee house with good pastries and coffee. Pleasant counter staff, outside seating available and well as inside AC. This place is just down the street from the Starbucks on the corner … Go here, not there … support the local, home grown and excellent coffee house!

For the coffee snobs out there… I am not very impressed with the coffee. Atmosphere is great, friendly baristas. But I don’t think they really know what they are doing. I ordered a macchiato and they gave me a poorly done cappuccino. The espresso is not good. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I also tried an iced americano and an iced cold brew. Was not satisfied. Again, good atmosphere and hang out place for getting average coffee, but I don’t recommend it if you’re looking for good coffee/espresso.

Best coffee spot in Walla Walla! I got the mocha, which was great, and the coffee cake, even better! The music they play is great – a mix of alternative and indie music that’s gives off a perfect coffee house vibe. There’s lots of options, the baristas are friendly… what’s not to love about Coffee Perk?!

Great find during my walk. I enjoy supporting a local business. Great coffee, friendly and professional staff, great prices, good selection of pastries and glad I didn’t have to go next door to the ‘bucks’

I have been enjoying coffee here for many years. It used to be my go-to coffee house when I needed to have a meeting. However, somehow I gravitated to the next door coffee house and since then, I have not been here as often. This is a local coffee house employing local baristas. The baristas are all knowledgeable and make a great cup of espresso, any way you want it. They are personable and don’t pressure you into deciding what you want but give you time to consider all your options. It was the first coffee house that I went to that didn’t charge you for an extra shot in a large latte or cappuccino. They serve their coffee in ceramic cups unless you ask for it to go. They always make the drink look inviting and it always tastes great. They have a variety of edible food stuffs that will satisfy any minor hunger. There is a TV that is usually tuned into a music channel so the music here is generally quite eclectic. There is a lot of space for spreading out, especially if you are studying and need room for a large textbook, a computer, a notebook, and your coffee If you are there for rest and relaxation you can sit on one of the two couches and enjoy the fireplace, the company, or your own silence. The crowd is mostly local with a smattering of tourists. If you want to find somewhere to have a discussion with a stranger, this may be the place for you to go. If you are a Starbucksaholic, then this is an acceptable alternative. For actual coffee flavor, this is one of the best coffee houses in town.

+++.+The physical space inside the store has something for everyone: couches, high chairs at a countertop looking out at the street for laptop users, cozy two-person tables, a fireplace. The variety of seating arrangements should please the current mood of anyone. It also had that lived-in look(the one that occurs when you’re too busy to clean up after yourself). Some people like that look, I don’t. 3.5 stars +++++The servers were patient and willing to create whatever. I’m a Starbucks fan(my favorite is in Switzerland, however). So, when I’m faced with a menu that has a macchiato being a real macchiato and not my favorite Starbucks caramel macchiato drink, I’m stumped. The menu has an overwhelming number of «special espresso drinks» and the usual items of a real coffeehouse. The server was extremely gracious, listening to my likes and indecisiveness and finally said«I’ll make you something that you’ll like, and if you don’t like it, let me know.» 5 stars for effort +++The espresso drink(it did have caramel flavor) in a ceramic cup was lukewarm. Bummer, because the taste was OK(but not OMG I’ll be back 5-star taste). The coffee flavor was smooth, but not robust. 3 stars Good for you: if you really don’t like the taste of Starbucks espresso Not Good for You: if you are a Starbucks fan, just keep walking, turn the corner, and you’ll be home P. S. My star system rounds up on this one. Overall: 4 stars

Coffee Perk has some perks, yes, but visiting was always a mixed bag. This local shop is right around the corner from Starbucks, so if you’re looking to go local, it’s quite convenient. There’s a little patio outside if the weather is pleasant, and the interior has a good amount of seating, including comfy couches and plush chairs. It’s a little dim but nothing that will necessarily ruin your eyesight. The coffee is good, better than Starbucks for sure(so go here instead!). I did notice that they used Hershey’s syrup the time I ordered a mocha and it was all sitting at the bottom of the cup; I’m not sure how I feel about that. The baked goods are also sometimes tasty and sometimes cloying sweet. The staff are sometimes friendly, sometimes not, but the service is generally quick. To be honest, I came to CP because of the hours when I needed to get work done on my computer and wanted a little nook to hole up in. I preferred the coffee and baked goods at another nearby place, but they closed earlier.

This weekend is my fourth trip to Walla Walla. The past two times I have had my espressos here. Espressos here are as good as anywhere I have ever had espressos. And I have had espressos in France, Spain, and Italy. The pastry is good too. If you are into espresso drinks for the great flavor, this is the spot. I like that they also have outside seating. This way my dog can join me.
