The instructors at the Y are fabulous and very informative. The therapy pool is just the right temperature, but the area around the pool should be cleaned better. The Y could also use new curtains in the women’s changing area on the first floor. Too bad the building is seeing signs of its age.

We love our Y, both locations.
The value, classes, equipment, offerings (hello free child watch w/membership) cannot be matched for the price and quality anywhere.
Sure there are value gyms every third block but it’s like buying a used car to get on a treadmill, the classes are second rate & the crowd has the collective maturity of a high school junior. No, I don’t want to be in your selfie, dude.
Locations are well maintained, give off a strong community vibe and there is always, always something to do. My Daughter has taken swimming lessons and they were worth every penny — attentive instructor, small class size, and convenient times.
I adore the app in iTunes, it allows me to input classes into my schedule, check openings, it’s my Y at my fingertips. My only suggestion would be class sign up online!
The value far exceeds the cost.

Sadly, the Wallingford «Family» YMCA has changed their policy of free towels without notifying their patrons! It’s strange that with so many inexpensive fitness centers opening in the Wallingford/Meriden area they would change policies. Well, I hope that red headed kid at the counter enjoyed getting a crisp dollar bill for a towel and losing a customer forever.
