Applebee’s

This is the best Applebee’s. Great service and hospitality. Scott our waiter was attentive and very kind to us. He helped us every time we needed service

So my husband and I went to Applebee’s yesterday. There is always a certain wrap we get. We ordered and most of the wraps (2 halves each) were half full. We asked the server since it tasted like there wasn’t any of the sauce on it. She was great. She checked and said yes there was a new cook. No one came to talk with us or anything. So why should we pay the same amount for less food because they have a new chef.

My friend and I showed up tonight for dinner, and even though the parking was pretty bad due to the remodeling, the actual experience inside the restaurant was very nice.
When we sat at our booth the tablet that sits on the table still had the previous patrons bill, which was little strange to me because I thought they would clear that out before sitting someone else.
They have a 2 for $ 20.00, and a 2 for $ 25.00 menu that is very convenient. We went with the 2 for $ 20.00, which gives you an option to choose between a salad for each, or an appetizer, followed by a limited choice of entrée options. We started with the chips and artichoke dip. The chips also came with small dish of salsa. The chips were thin, good, but a little salty. We were offered free refills on the chips, but not on the dip or salsa.
My friend and I both ordered the same entrée: 3-​cheese chicken cavatappi. The dish was really good. The cheese was plentiful, but they didn’t overdo it either. The cheesiness was well balanced. The chicken was good, but some pieces were a little dry. The same can be said about the noodles; mostly good, with a few dry bites.
Our server was Scott, and Scott was awesome. He was nice, quick, and very funny.
I’ve been hesitant to try Applebees because of all the negative reviews. But whatever their problem was in the past it looks like they’ve turned it around.

We needed a «nothing fancy» kind of meal after a late afternoon appointment at Kaiser Park Shadelands. Decided to give Applebee’s a try.
Encina Grande Shopping Center is still being remodeled so we had a bit of a trek to the door of Applebee’s. Once inside we found the atmosphere pleasant enough.
DH enjoyed his Happy Hour draft, and I found my pinot noir to be satisfactory. I was pleasantly surprised with my four-​ounce peppercorn sirloin. I like beef, just not a lot. The portion was perfect for light appetites. The sirloin was served with «grains» — not sure what kind of grains — plus some spinach and portobello mushrooms. Quite tasty and the meat was done perfectly and quite tender.
DH had a little less luck with his steak. He was not expecting a Ruth Cris’ steak, but would have liked it cooked to order which it was not. He did better with his two sides: grilled vegetables and garlic fries.
We shared the brownie bite dessert. Perfect «bite» of brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
Our server made a point of telling us that she gave us a full scoop of ice cream not the «bite size» because she was 62 and making minimum wage. We both found that quite «off putting» — especially since her service had not been that stellar to begin with. It was NOT the way to get a better tip.

I love the employees here, I see them almost everyday, I am a regular. The new management here, Ivan and Andrea are extremely rude not only to their staff but don’t treat their customers like they pay him. I’ve been coming here for years now and these managers are sending the restaurant into a downward spiral. These employees deserve better.

I have eaten at many Applebee’s in the bay area, this is by far the number one WORST Applebee’s I have ever been in. Started with not being able to get a drink order correct, took over twelve minutes for drinks. Then it was wrong! The waitress was not knowledgeable of the menu. The food was terrible ordered Ribs, sent them back twice. Second time it was like shoe leather, why wasn’t the manager doing spot checks on quality control? Applebee’s corporate doesn’t care and they don’t want to hear problems. How do I know, well when you go to their website and click the feedback link it goes to their home page. Be cautious when you go there, they could care less about the customer.

I hate to spill the beans but I’m going to have to… First we walked in excited only to be the ones to have to greet the workers and not to be greeted from the workers.
Then I almost had to grab my own menu as if I worked there because we weren’t allowed to sit in Certain area because obviously they wanted to keep it clean but customers should be able to sit wherever which was odd because we came there plenty of times and sat where ever !
Also we had ordered the 2 for 25 we got the artichoke dip and once we finished the chips it took more then 5 minutes to get our chips we also had to flag down someone who wasn’t are waitress and they just looked at us like we were irrelevant some lady with a little bun rolled her eyes then walked to get our waitress the other lady with a messed up side pony tail who looked like shift manager just starred my thing is this CUSTOMER SERVICE 200% of the time regardless how late it is. Also gave a butter knife for my fiancé as he ordered a steak. Andy was our waitress she was alright but everyone there should work on team player strategies we won’t be going there again that’s for sure !!!

Love this place! Every time we want to try something new… we change our minds and come here! Only one time I had an issue with being over charged after my meal had to be cooked more a couple times and my bill did NOT reflect as was told. Serving sizes are kinda small for the price though. Got over that and still go back.
Recently went with the family and we wanted to be in a booth and was told no because the person who had this table already has another table and she didn’t, well that made us more to want that area due to have my kids with us and was trying to enjoy Mother’s Day of all days. We asked a waitress after she was done assisting another customer if that was her table and if we can sit there. She replied I don’t see why not. She had asked why and we told her we were told we could not sit there. She got the booth ready and was excellent! And we were able to watch the game too cause we had a tv right next to the table! :)

You need to manage your expectations. As another reviewer said, it ain’t Ruth Chris’ Steakhouse — are you lost?. This isn’t fine dining, this is more of a diner.
Tasty burgers, cocktails with actual alcohol in them, fairly fresh food, lots of TVs. Stop whining, it’s a safe bet and as long as your expectations are in line. You can spend 3x as much downtown and not get much better. Thankfully, all these negative reviews & shopping center construction mean it isn’t crowded; nice place to decompress in the late afternoon/​evening.

Sorry all but I love Applebee’s. I live in Martinez & any time I’m in wc I stop in. Great salads, great steaks! I love the manager, Dianna & Doug the bartender. I’ve never experienced anything but speedy service & a warm greeting. I wish they were located in my town!

I placed an online order which was fast and easy. The only problem is they have the bartender go to the back to get the order which took nearly 30mins. He finally had a waitress go check on the order since I’d been waiting so long– the bartender was very nice just slammed. The front lady even reminded him twice to get my order yet never offered to help him. They need to figure out a better process.

Why is this place still open is my question? We went here for dinner once and would never go back. Dinner was cold and chicken dry. Ribs were so spicy my son couldn’t eat them. Won’t go here again.

Amazing people.. Went in with a friend who received some bad news while there and the manager Diana brought it some kleenex and said here sweetie everything will be ok. *****
Katie the bartender is an old friend and has a Rockstar bartender personality (not saying that cause she’s an old friend). Great people, keep it up! !

Ughhhh. What a disaster. Dinner started at 700. Two hours later we are still here and my wife still hasn’t got what she ordered.
They didnt even take it off the bill. We had to ask. A manager never even came over to apologize for the disaster. No wonder people call it Cr@pplebee$.
This place will hopefully go under one day. IF I DID MY JOB AS WELL AS THE MANAGERS OF THIS RESTAURANT, I WOULD BE FIRED.

We were greeted with a great hostess.
Our server Mario was great, attentive and good personality.
Unfortunately can’t say the same about the food!
My steak was good but vegetables were falling apart over cooked!
My wife got the half baby back ribs, it was mostly bone no meet at all so I gave up ½ of my stake to her.
My mother-​in-​law had chicken and shrimp but chicken was dehydrated.

To start, this place is currently under construction: they can’t help that so its not pertinent to the review, just some info for potential future customers. The inside is quite nice because of the remodel, so that was nice. We only came because we had a gift card.
Service was mediocre at best. The hostess seemed like she was high and spoke so softly I didn’t hear half of what she said. Our waitress was attentive– that is all I can say.
The food I ate was pretty good. I had the chicken salad. The jalapeño dressing was delicious. Boyfriend had the spinach shrimp salad. I don’t know what the chefs think shrimp is supposed to look like when it’s cooked, but whatever it was is not what we received. It looked and tasted like it was still raw. Note to chefs: shrimp is supposed to be PINK when cooked, not translucent. Boyfriend ended up getting food poisoning from it.
Also, the drink we ordered had way too much sweet and sour in it. It tasted nothing like a Long Island iced tea.
All in all, we will NOT be going back. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I had a good laugh reading all of the negative reviews for this Applebee’s. So many people complaining about overcooked or under-​cooked steaks and sub par cocktails. Well, here’s a hard truth: For $ 13, you probably can’t expect a great steak dinner at any restaurant. Sorry. Instead of pretending that Applebee’s was Ruth’s Chris, we just stopped in one afternoon to enjoy happy hour and had a great time.
During happy hour, well drinks are $ 4 and most appetizers are half off. We ordered some boneless buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, and wonton tacos. The buffalo wings were surprisingly good and pleasantly spicy. I couldn’t believe how many mozzarella sticks we got. There was about twelve of them (not bad for $ 3.50). The wonton taco fusion didn’t work though. They should have either done lettuce wraps or tacos.
While we were snacking on our appetizers, we saw a brunch burger on the menu which involved a burger being topped with a fried egg, bacon, cheese, and crispy hash browns. It looked enticing so we ordered one to share. The burger was cooked exactly to medium rare (as we had requested), and it was well-​seasoned. The combo of breakfast fare with the burger was quite good. I would definitely order this burger again.
Lastly, our service was great. If you go during happy hour, the restaurant isn’t as crowded and the food comes out quickly.
In summary, although Applebee’s is tagged as a steakhouse on Unilocal,it is really just a casual chain restaurant with some tasty appetizers and well-​done simple American dishes. If you come in with the right expectations, you should really enjoy it.

The food is always usually really good at Applebee’s but I am disappointed in their to go process when ordering online! I ordered through their app and the order was placed at 11:36 AM. I was told in the app the order would be ready at 11:52 AM. It was 25 minutes after 12 when my order came out. The host kept checking on my order but apparently it had been sitting somewhere else in the restaurant because when I got home the fries were totally cold and the burger was barely even warm.
Not a pleasant experience. I had to reheat the burger and it does not taste as good after reheating!

This restaurant deserves –1 star and then some!
I ordered car side to go and apparently their site should have mentioned that you must pick up inside bc they are doing construction.
I get home and bring what food I ordered for me and my friend and he bites into the brisket burger and pulls out a price of hair and what looks like lent. SO DISGUSTING!!!
We went through his burger and I took out what looked like pet hair from the top part of the burger.
I seriously hope someone contacts me bc being on hold for 10 minutes then everyone is trying to find a manager is inexcusable
Why is this place still open??? They need new cooks new waiters and management!

A good surprised for me! I’m not regular into chain restaurants like Applebee’s, but in occasion the services make the difference like yesterday nite!
TGI, Friday I went with a group of amazing ladies! I was waiting for a regular services, nothing really good but from the beginning to the end, our waitresses was super nice and polite!
The recommendations for me were the best ones (I’m a vegetarian picky bitchy person).
The members of the group also were happy with the recommendations and drinks!

Food was ok. My veggie burger were not extraordinary but not bad the all.
We are gonna back soon for another funny nite and we are gonna ask for my favorite waitresses!
