Chang Leatrice

I’ve been going to Dr. Chang for about 25 years. She’s a superb doctor. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, she’s also compassionate. She’s always paid attention to what I’ve told her, not only about my medical issues but about my finances. Every time I’ve had a health problem, she’s figured out the solution in a way that works for me. I trust her completely and I can’t say enough good things about her. My only regret is that she’ll have to retire someday, because I know that finding another doctor as good as her will be really difficult.

I recently needed to go in on a short notice and was assigned to see Dr. Leatrice Chang.
While the front desk personnel was professional and friendly, Dr. Chang made the experience awful. When asking her to repeat an answer, she was very annoyed and condescending. Furthermore she referred me back to my obgyn to determine whether an over the counter allergy medication was safe for pregnancy. I really expected her to provide the answer.
The breaking point was when she practically ushered me out of the office. She was very much in a hurry and after sending a referral form for a lab test to the printer, she walked out. I followed her and while I was getting further information from the front desk staff, she rushed into another room and closed the door. The visit did not have a closure and it’s the first time I’ve ever been treated this way. I can’t speak for the other doctors here but Dr. Chang was awful. She was impatient and rude with no sense of personal care. This practice gets 2 stars because the front desk staff is pleasant to deal with but my experience with Dr. Chang is a solid 0. I’ll be switching to another facility going forward.

Wonderful… Thorough, caring, knowledgable. Definitely recommend her. The staff was also prompt and helpful.

I am writing a zero star review of my experience with Dr. Leatrice L. Chang of the Walnut Creek Medical Center, 1777 Oakland Blvd. Walnut Creek, 94 596. I made an appointment as a new patient, and had to wait for three weeks. I arrived at the center, the parking has tow-​away warnings throughout the whole floor, so in finding Visitor Parking I walked in about 5 minutes late. The receptionist checked me in, then left the desk. She returned and told me I would need to reschedule because I was Late. I explained about the confusing parking, I already had my enrollment form filled out, but apparently Dr. Chang had no interest in that. The receptionist was rude, and I will not return to this doctor. Yes, I was late, but it wasn’t even a medical/​treatment appointment! 5 minuets? Come on.
Won’t recommend her.
