I went in for a physical with Dr Pammi in Feb or March of last year, because I needed some long-term prescriptions refilled and had just switched from Kaiser to an HDHP. Anyway, it was fine; I’m a pretty straight-forward case. I went back in in November because I needed her to refill my prescriptions, which she wouldn’t do without blood work and being seen. Okay, fair enough. I did the blood work, and went in; we decided on a course of action(skip a day on one med, increase my dose on another). While there, I had her look at a cyst on my back; she said if I wanted antibiotics to clear it up, it might be a good idea, and to let her know. Fast forward 1 month… Strike 1: I learn that she insists on blood work and another office visit to give me more than 60 days… can’t she review my blood work and tweak based on the results? I schedule a physical to avoid the $ 200 doctor visit. Strike 2: I called her up Dec 29 to take her up on the offer of the antibiotics for the cyst on my back. She was out for the holidays and would be back on Jan 5… okay. I get a call on on Jan 8, telling me that she’ll need me to come in before she can prescribe the antibiotics. SHEHADALREADYSEENIT… why did I need to be seen again? This was when I decided that I didn’t need to deal with all of this; I’m not a fan of doctors who require me to come in for every little thing, especially when it’s regarding an issue that was addressed within the past month. My interactions with Dr. Pammi were fine; however I felt that the number of visits she was requiring for treatment to be unnecessary and repetitive.
