I went to Dr. Hom a while back for an eye exam and to get new contacts. He was friendly and the staff was really nice but every pair of contacts he gave me were uncomfortable and though he kept working with me to find a good pair, it got a bit ridiculous when I was going there every other day or so to try out new ones. He never thought to look and see if something was wrong with my eyes. I ended up going to Site For Sore Eyes in Walnut Creek and they did a thorough exam and found some issues and recommended that I wear my glasses for 2 months and then they fitted me with contacts the first try that worked out perfectly. Dr. Hom didn’t ask questions, he was fine just handing over as many samples as he could and it became very frustrating, time consuming, and in the end expensive since I had to get a 2^nd eye exam.

I’ve been going here for almost… what…4 years now?
I originally started going because they were the closest place that took my parents insurance. Because I’m covered, I rarely if ever have to pay anything for glasses.
It’s a family business and they are all really nice. Doctor Hom himself remembers me personally even though I only come in twice a year if that.
When I decided to get contacts, they showed me how to put them in and gave me all the goodies I’d need for them, the wash, case and etc.
I really like their selection of glasses, and they are always willing to send away, change or figure out if they can find you the pair you want if it’s not in the showroom.
Even when I move, I’ll continue to come back because their service is so good.
