Falcon Roofing has done work on my leaking roof over the span of three years and each time he comes in to do the work he always fixed the problem. Mario, the owner personally goes up the roof to check the problem to make sure that the work is done properly. He also warranties his work. I had problems with another roofing company and Mario fixed the bad repair done by the other company.
It’s so hard to find an honest roofer nowadays.

1. OVERALL: Falcon Roofing is an outstanding firm. They are highly professional, honest — truly good, skilled, and careful humans (and now, brand new friends) — who look at things from the customer’s point of view. They made the finer points of the trade clear — and helped make the decision-​making process — over such unfamiliar ground — easy and pain-​free. We found ourselves saying, «Aha!,» constantly.

2. A PRICELESS LEARNING EXPERIENCE: During Spring 2015, my wife and I were preparing to repaint our 22-​year old home. (Our roof is comprised of the heavy concrete tiles — but showed decades of accumulated grime — and our thought was to have the roof professionally cleaned — as part of the whole beautification project.)
3. CHANGE IN PLANS: An Internet search revealed that we had much more important things to do concerning our roof — WHICH THEY CONFIRMED –considering the age of the structure. After decades of exposure to the elements, things can and will change way up there, out of view.
!!! THESE ROOFS NEED TO BE PROFESSIONALLY INSPECTED, EVERY 10 YEARS OR SO, WE CAME TO UNDERSTAND !!!
4. HOW WE FOUND THEM: We found Falcon Roofing at an annual Home Improvement Fair and had considered other firms — but Falcon was exactly what we were looking for. We knew it, instantly, after just a few moments of conversation with Aj Lavoie, the Project Manager — who ultimately did the work as part of a superb 2-​man team. And, of course, Unilocal and others helped us do our homework.
5. WHAT THEY DID: They were so professional, in every respect. They meticulously examined the roof, photographing their findings for us (and also photographed their finished work) — repaired a few broken tiles; corrected the deteriorating condition of the 14 little jack pipes that vent different parts of the house.
((Those photos are also a form of insurance for us, in the unlikely event that our future house-​painters break any tiles — and some dispute arises))
(They replaced the lead barrier strips — designed to insure the tightest weather-​seals for our type of roof — around the jack-​pipes and along edges where the tiles made contact with different angles and around the chimney. They then applied a protective paint to maximize the life of the new seals)
6. ABOUT THE LEAD: We were surprised to discover that there was any lead up there at all. And with it constantly exposed to often intense California sun, it made sense that it would deteriorate in the heat, over time. Serious cracks had developed, opening protected areas to water intrusion and rot. Something you surely don’t want at any time — but especially where such heavy weight must be supported overhead.
7. A SURPRISE BONUS: Mr. Lavoie also discovered a DESIGN FLAW which explained why the summer heat was so intense in our garage and attic — despite our best efforts to insulate the area. Along the top ridge of the roof, the ridge-​cap was supposed to ventilate the attic along its entire length, but this was tightly sealed, with no way for the heat to escape. He installed a solar-​powered vent-​fan which has produced a significant improvement in the comfort, below — and a lower heating and cooling cost is confidently anticipated.
8. THE FINISH-​LINE: No, we never got our roof power-​washed — because of drought water-​conservation — but the work FALCON did for us actually made the roof look better and cleaner == and we now know, after living with a tile roof for almost 10 years, that there are certain maintenance issues that need to be addressed, every decade. (Someone needs to go look at the jack pipes, etc. so as to maintain the structural integrity)
9. AND YES, YOU CAN SEE A VISUAL IMPROVEMENT — sweetened with the knowledge that our roof is in great shape, now — and we don’t have to worry about it crashing down on us and spoiling our sleep (or prolonging it).

Met AJ and the owner of Falcon Roofing at a Home Show. We talked about whether a new roof or repair of the existing roof was needed. A couple days later, AJ came out to assess the roof and took lots of pictures (glad I didn’t have to climb up there to see for myself) of broken and missing tiles, as well as places where wind and weather had exposed decking and flashing.
His diagnosis was that a new roof wasn’t needed and, that with some needed repair, the existing concrete tile roof would keep working for years. They made a really fair estimate of the repairs. I was impressed that they were super ethical and didn’t recommend a new roof.
Their workers were out several days later. (We didn’t have a leak problem & with the drought…) they took a couple of long days to finish the project of replacing dry rot decking, replace degraded flashing around chimney and pipe jacks, installing a solar attic fan and replacing about fifty cracked tiles.
I would highly recommend Falcon Roofing for repairs and if we ever needed to replace a roof, for a new roof as well.

I called Falcon Roofing and they sent AJ out the next day. I had a leak that I have been very frustrated with and spent lots of money. He listened to everything I needed and I wanted the leak fixed for good. He was very thorough and found the area wear the leak was. Completely different area than the other companies had said was the problem. He came back out a couple days later and completed the repair. A couple weeks later we had some rain finally, but there was no leak… Found my new roofing company!
