Maybe… just maybe this place had normal food some Time ago?! But me and my friend think it was pretty bad. No flavor what so ever. All taste the same… And dry: dry chicken, dry salmon. If any one care in this place than they should act on it and fast. The waiters were nice, but the food also took forever to come out.

This was my first time here. Its always crowded so I decided to come on a Sunday. The Sangria was great. The Salsa was tasty with a good little kick .The disappointment was the bar area. The service was not there. I have to say the young bartender tried her best but the lack of service made the experience unpleasant. 10 min to get a drink ?? Another 10 to order an appetizer Im sorry not acceptable I should of walked out

There are a lot of negative reviews for La Fogata on this site, but two friends and I were there last night, and it was really good. We just happened on the place and liked the idea of sitting in the outside patio(which was very nice). The service was friendly, professional, and reasonably fast. The food — and the margaritas — was very, very good. We had enchiladas verde, chili relleno, and enchilada rojas, and we all enjoyed our meals. 4 stars only because, as has been noted, its a little pricey.

Bland food, poorly made drinks, under staffed and worst of all, unsanitary. Just don’t.

Visited for lunch — tried several appetizers and left feeling unsatisfied. No distinct flavor to the food– tasted very much like frozen food from the local grocery store. Nice location — sit outside if you enjoy people walking.

Perhaps not the greatest restaurant in town, but the food is consistent and pretty good, they treat my kid really well, and the prices are decent. My daughter wants to go here constantly because they have good rice and beans. They have fresh guacamole and generally everything, in my view, is good.

I’ve been coming here for years but after today I have to rethink my Mexican food options. Not only have the prices increased tremendously over the years, but the quality has gone down in my opinion. Tonight I placed a togo order for a grilled chicken burrito with black beans. Not only do they not have grilled chicken, but the burrito came with nothing but chicken, rice and REFRIED beans(I requested black beans) no salsa, sour cream, nothing. That burrito was $ 10.50. I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas with a side of rice. That was $ 14.25. Absurd due to the deflated enchiladas and tiny amount of sauce I received. I LOVE the flavor of their food but the quality and pricing will keep me from coming back. Disappointed that after 10 yrs I feel more compelled to go to Cinco de Mayo one street over. :(

The lime salad dressing is really bad. The tortillas were hard/stale tasting. The chips were warm and salsa ok but a little bland. The chile releno was bland with clans sauce. The beans tasted? dry?. I should have gone to chipotle

Just plain crummy. Here it is, six hours later and I am still tasting my dinner, and not in a good way. I should have known when we sat down this place would be disappointing. Save a handful of folks in the bar watching football reruns in the bar and one other table of diners, we were the only patrons in the dining room. The waiter, while attentive, kept mixing up our orders. We can forgive that. At least he checked in regularly. Okay: On the plus side: Their margarita — the best part of the meal — was good, as were the chips and salsa. The real joy-killer of being at La Fogata was the food. All of us found our food over-salted. Fried foods were soggy, and the chicken was tough and rubbery, like it had been stewing away all afternoon. We all left the joint with that uncomfortable, queasy, bad-food, bloated feeling. I wondered whether I would regret the experience. At 2 a.m., I’m tasting my dinner again. Now I know. Ugh. For my money, there are other, better places to go for Mexican in Walnut Creek and Lafayette. Fuego and Maria Maria come to mind, but there are probably others.

I came here the other night with my husband and my friend. It was pretty good. I ordered a margarita and that was decent. The chips and salsa were decent. For my meal, I got a carne asada quesadilla with beans and rice. This was pretty good and did the trick. It had good proportions of cheese to carne asada and the tortillas were nice and crisp. Our server was pretty good and I appreciated him checking on allergies multiple times. They were able to set my husband up with a nice salad and I really appreciated that. Overall, it was pretty good. It was a nice, casual environment with decent food.

Didn’t like the food at this restaurant at first, but then started trying different items on the menu as I was so impressed with the service, I felt like I should give it another chance. The chile relleno is the best I have ever had, the rice and beans here are phenomenal. The fajita quesadilla is great, and the burritos are fantastic. Is a bit pricey for being Mexican food, but that partially has to do with the location I am sure. Definitely would recommend for individual or for a family!

We are regular customers there. One of my daughters wanted to go there on her birthday. We told the hostess twice that it was her birthday. They did not even say happy birthday or bring her anything at all. Would expect something, especially since it is kinda pricey.

Tried to go to dinner last night and the front door had a sign that said it was shut down by the county board of health. Yikes. How hard is it to keep a place clean.

The food was alright, but pricey. 1 star because my girlfriend and I both got the stomach flu or food poisoning from this place. I really want a refund. And my entire day being bedridden back. Oh, and needing to miss a day of work. I had high hopes for this place, but already have been telling all my friends and coworkers to avoid at all costs! Please spare yourself the time and money! Save money and eat better at El Molino in concord. It’s worth the drive and it’s actually authentic!

Came here yesterday for the first(and last) time to hopefully get some authentic Mexican food for myself and some friends. I was so wrong. I ordered 2 cheese & chicken quesadillas, 1 kid cheese quesadilla, and one El Rey Burrito. The quesadillas were extremely over priced. $ 25 for 2 is ridiculous. Its just cheese and a little bit of chicken –_– … Get to my burrito and when I was able to eat it about 20 minutes after receiving it, it was falling apart. It wasn’t even wrapped! The tortilla ends weren’t even touch and it was extremely floppy. The aluminum foil didn’t even cover the whole burrito so that couldn’t even hold it together. And I asked for very little sour cream. My first bite was literally ALL sour cream. So nasty! I spit it out. I had to take 2 more bites and spit them out too before I actually got to any rice, beans or chicken. Once I actually got to that part of the burrito, the flavor was non-existent. I can’t believe I payed $ 15 for this sloppy, floppy, gross disgusting burrito. The only good thing about this place was the piñata above the register in the front of the store that kids can get candy from.

The cheese quesadillas!!! The cheese they use is so good. I don’t know how it’s so much better than other Mexican restaurants but it is! I promise you!

My guy and I went in for dinner on Saturday night. The food was great — I had a carne asada burrito and he had a carnitas burrito. We dined in the bar area which was nice that we were able to catch the football and hockey games on. Our server was Theo and he was great, super polite and always checked on us to make sure we needed refills, salsa, etc. Definitely will be coming back again soon. PS — ask for the orange /REALLY hot Salsa if you’re a spicy food addict like myself… SOGOOD.

Food is ok but it’s a perfect place to come to watch a game. They have 7 tvs with mirrors on opposite side, so you can see the tvs from every direction. All the restaurants with tvs on this strip are super busy and no seating available. This place was perfect, plenty of seating and room to relax, eat, drink, and watch a game. Con-food is over priced. A simple burrito– $ 14 My chicken crispy tacos were were perfect to my likings. Fish tacos looked fresh. Burrito was boring. Chimichanga only had meat inside but looked pretty On the outside. Meat was well done, and plate lakes flavor. Chips and salsa great! Chips– fresh home made, salsa/great balance of flavors.
