Purchased a Groupon which was a terrific deal. The restaurant was nice, but pretty noisy. Service was great and the calamari dore was excellent!

The only authentic thing about this place is the name which they are not even worth keeping. Skip this place… the food is simply mediocre. It’s another«washed up» version of what real Italian food is all about.

Went there with a groupon. What a great deal! $ 60 wine credit and any 2 entrees for $ 69. The service was awesome, even though the place was packed. The hostess was very welcoming. The escargot appetizer was delicious and there was great bread to dunk in the garlic butter. I had the roasted chicken under a brick-flawless. My partner had the peppercorn NY steak which was done perfectly. By the time we left there was a line out the door! Thanks for a great dining experience, we will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I decided to try a new restaurant and we had been recommended to come here. We called earlier that day to make same day reservations and they handled that well. When we got to the restaurant they sat us down quickly and provided us with bread and water. I asked the waiter for some balsamic vinaigrette and he never brought any. Our food came out relatively quickly. My boyfriend had the three-cheese ravioli with red sauce and he liked his dish. I had the veal-filled tortellini with a light cream sauce; the tortellini was incredibly over cooked and was falling apart. The waiter never refilled our water glasses. And although we came On a Friday night, many of the waiters were standing near the waitress stand. I’d say my experience here was a little disappointing.

My absolute favorite Italian Restaurant in the bay. Try the gamberi scampi– and carpaccio, you will not be disappointed. The wait staff is friendly and personable and make excellent suggestions for wine pairing, or the various menu options to suit your palate. Every dessert I’ve ever had here is absolutely mouth watering. Doesnt get much better than this.

This is pretty much our go to restaurant. Love the service, love the food. Recommended to order our faves: carpaccio, escargot and the peppered steak and the lasagna. Still wanna try the happy hour sound like great pricing.

Bought the deal from Groupon. Reservation was easy, parking was not bad. Location was not hard to find. The ambiance was ok. It can be very loud inside. The setting was still nice even if it was small. Service was slow. It seems like they only have few staff to take care of the customers. It took us about 30minutes for our food to arrive. The person helping us kept on getting side tracked as well. For the food, the bread was ok. Their soup tasted like it was from a can. My wife’s pasta was good though. Going to my steak, it was not good. I ordered medium rare and it was not done right. It was medium well and some area are well done. When you bite the meat it is very noticeable that the meat fiber was hard already. Overall the experience was ok but the food is not that great so it is below average. I also forgot my scarf there and they said it is not there when i called so now i am assuming that it was thrown.

This place has some of the best soup I’ve ever had. It’s wonderful on a cold night and just love the French bread and butter that comes with it yummy. The lasagna here is out of control and fantastic. A bit on the pricey side but definitely worth splurging on once in awhile.

Montecatini continues to serve superb food in a convivial atmosphere. Four or us dined recently and had various dishes ranging from swordfish to rigatoni with sausage to pasta with seafood and lasagne. All expertly prepared and presented. Paired with great wines the meal was memorable.

I like this place! Been here quite a few times and it’s consistently good. My favorite entrée is probably the scallops. I also really like the tiramisu for dessert. And… the wine list is excellent as well!

Credit where credit is due is important. I’ll say this, Groupon is awesome, without it we would not have dined at this place. Groupon has definitely taken some restaurants off our future list, but has added many others, this is one of those places. After our great experience — from the décor, the small kitchen(which is actually great, just think of home cooking :-)), the lighting, bar, liveliness, etc. We can’t speak intelligently about the menu as we only experienced two dishes, but the food was perfectly prepared, the sauces couldn’t be better and the taste outstanding. And the young man that took care of us — Terrence — is a true professional in every aspect. In a ‘not over the top’ way, he made our night all come together. So — we’ll definitely check this place out going forward, maybe monthly. We had a great experience.

This is really a great restaurant. I am originally from upstate New York, and it had that kind of feel to it — not too fancy, but nice atmosphere, and gets the basics right. Reasonable prices. Veal Parm was fabulous and different — served with a tomato cream sauce instead of marinara. Calamari salad was outstanding, and reminded me of my grandfather’s. I wanted to try the piccata, b/c it looked really good, but my wife and I both wanted the Parm. Also, my wife thought the tiramisu was really good(a little different from what I am used to, and probably something that most people would like, though I personally thought it was a little too unconventional). Adrian at the bar was a great guy and was mixing drinks like he had six arms. Anyway, I don’t post often. I love Italian food, and this place really hit the spot for me. It’s the real deal, and I will be back.

Montecatini has been one of our favorite ristorante for years now but it has always had a high noise level and being somewhat of a seasoned citizen, the old ears aren’t what they used to be and while I can hear OK understanding in a noisy area is a challenge. We were taken there by our 30 something daughter on a Thursday and the place while crowded was not packed and I could actually understand the conversation hence the 5 stars rather than 4. We had reservations and were seated promptly. We had a groupon which was graciously accepted as was the promo photo on our phones for the free class of wine. Started with a Caesar salad and calamari salad shared by all. Wife had the sea bass I had the seafood linguine and daughter had the Lasagne. Sea Bass was good but not great and the other dishes were quite good. Tried three different deserts and all were good, What made the meal a five star experience was our waiter Juan. He was training a newbie and was especially attentive and helpful.

Came here a few nights ago for a celebratory dinner. It seemed like a busy night so we expected delays, even with a reservation. We were seated promptly and probably not even greeted until 15 minutes after to get some drinks started. Our server seemed to be very flustered and inattentive to us throughout the whole meal. Made us feel invisible. I ordered the veal parm which was very delicious, however my side veggies were very undercooked. We had to literally beg for our waiters attention to 1. take our orders 2. See a desert menu. Our dining time was close to 2 hrs! Even on a Wednesday… As first timers we were highly disappointed in the service. To not even glance our way as we’re seated in the middle of the restaurant right next to all your other tables you are providing service to is just plain rude… We definitely felt ignored or forgotten multiple occasions.

Oh, Montecatini… it’s certainly has been a while. It had been a good while since my last visit here years ago, so when my honey and I were deciding where to eat for our anniversary, Montecatni came to mind. We made prior dinner reservations for 6:00 p. m on a Saturday night. The place was absolutely bustling with people(always a god sign) however, we were seated fairly promptly. Service from the hostess was extremely warm and friendly upon greeting and seating. I believe ownership changed from what I had heard and what I could see, for the menu seemed to have more selections then what I remember — still all fantastic sounding though. Wine selection by the glass on the other hand, was nothing spectacular, for they seem to only have a small, less than stellar selection-but still not bad. I started off the evening by selecting a glass of Italian red wine that I cannot recall the name of. It was only $ 7.00 and was actually recommended by our server. It was a nicer dry wine, with a nice undertone of fruit — not bad. For an appetizer, I ordered the Escargot. The Escargot turned out utterly fantastic tasting! Rich and savory in flavor, and cooked to a tender perfection! For our main dishes, I went with the Lasagna and my honey went with Pollo Alla Schiacciata –Brick pressed baked half chicken with fresh rosemary, garlic. My lasagna expected wait time is 30 min. It seemed we received our food sooner than that though, and both dishes arrived stellar looking. My lasagna not only looked spectacular, but tasted phenomenal! All the flavors just exuded quality and effort; the creamy Bolognese sauce was rich and savory and the pasta was cooked to perfection. My honey also absolutely loved his half chicken, which did look quite appealing. Our server was also extremely friendly. So, from my first visit up and tell now, it certainly seems they have not changed much; for the food, ambiance and service, is still spectacular. Can’t wait to dine in again :)

I like this place. It has a TV so I can glance at sports. Nice old school décor. Small and personable The wine list is not extensive but the 2013 Belle Glos Pinot was a great price at a restaurant The staff was friendly and pretty good but the food was very good We started with the prosciutto that was terrific with the light mustard sauce The escargots were delicious and bread dip worthy The veal saltimbocca was so good For dessert we had them make an affogato that was pretty good All in all I was happy

Loved the place for the comfort Italian food. It’s been open since 1989 and business is still strong. The décor reminds me of old-school Italian places back east. Entrees were $ 20 – 25 range. Pasta dishes were $ 15 – 20. Happy Hour every day until 6pm. The lasagna was very good. Soft, cheesy and comes in a tomato cream sauce. The linguini pomodoro was excellent as well. Will definitely go back.

I came here with my family to celebrate my 24th birthday. I didn’t know what to expect since this was my first time coming here but considering the good reviews that I read before hand, I decided to give it a chance. I made reservations for 7:30pm and we got here at around that time. We walked in and we were waited to be greeted and seated. What I am assuming who was the assistant manager or one of the managers was running food back and forth to tables and asked us for how many, I told her we made a reservation and she said she would be right with is. The kitchen was right at the entrance, which I thought was a bit odd for an Italian restaurant, the bar area was a decent size with tvs, the place was a bit on the smaller side but it had a cute, cozy, romantic feel to it, with the lights dim and everything, which was nice. We were seated in our table had birthday confetti spread down the center of it which I thought was a very thoughtful touch. Our sever came to our table at a reasonable time manner and asked us if we wanted to order appetizers and wine. We did and we were satisfied with the wine and appetizers. Our food came out in a reasonable manner(considering it was busy that evening) and was 100% satisfied. We kept getting refills and our plates taken as they were empty, which was great customer service. Overall, I was happy with my experience there, food was awesome and I would come back! Definitely try this place out if you haven’t already!

Although this place is small it packs a big punch with its tasty food. It’s pretty hard to find authentic Italian food here on the west coast but this place get it pretty close. The setting is intimate and a bit tight but that’s made up by the good service and good food! The bread was fresh, and my veal pasta was delicious. I also tasted the pasty with Italian sausage dish and that was delicious too. I’m very pleased with this establishment.

Came here on a Saturday night with a group of eight. Service was good… Very friendly and knowledgable staff. Food was good but nothing worth writing home about. The restaurant could use a little updating and something to help with the noise level because it was very loud. Overall this place was ok. I’m won’t go out of my way to come back.
