Very nice ambiance and they know how to cook crab very well. We have found the food here very good and the owner is always very nice. Great location where it’s easy to find parking and spend a night out with the family!

When I lived in Walnut Creek, I ate here probably once a week. Linda and her staff are incredible and they serve up the BEST Chinese food I have ever had… hands down. Since I’ve moved to another part of the state, I now compare all Chinese food to here and no one has ever come close to how yummy their food is. I definitely need to come back to the Bay, just to have some hot and sour soup, pot stickers, orange peel beef, and some honey walnut prawns soon… very soon!

The good: Nice décor, good wait staff and the best Hot & Sour Soup I ever had. The not so good: The food wasn’t bad but our egg rolls sat in the grease too long and rice was a little over cooked. Over all it’s just OK.

This restaurant is amazing! My wife and I happened to stumble across this gem while walking in downtown Walnut Creek. The first time we came, Irene and Linda were both so warm and inviting. The food was delicious and all at a great price. We came again the following weekend and were pleasantly surprised that both of them had remembered us. The wor wonton soup is my wife’s favorite, and I find it hard to go wrong with any of their very flavorful lunch specials. This has become one of our usuals, and I suggest you make it yours as well.

This is our favorite Sunday spot! Bottomless mimosas– $ 13 and $ 7 – 8 delicious/fresh lunch specials. Wor wonton is my go-to. I’m a sucker for a good soup and their wontons are so yummy and flavorful. Service has been phenomenal from day one and you feel so welcomed– Which is very rare nowadays. Don’t pass up on this spectacular restaurant!

The best service I had experienced in so many different places. We ordered Honey Walnut Prawns, pumpkin with prawns and chicken in curry sauce and also string beans。everything is just perfect. Service is very attentive. Highly recommended and can’t wait to come back.

Average Chinese food. Server was not so great but that might have been just him. Atmosphere was nice/casual.

Skip this place. Service was slow and inattentive. Asked for water and never got it. Took a long time to get apps(dim sum sampler) which was tasteless. Singapore noodles were missing something — maybe salt? Honey walnut prawns were OK but shrimp lasted like it was frozen and very few walnuts. Décor is dated, cleanliness low. In an area with tons of restaurants, this place needs a serious upgrade. Skip it.

Totally meant to Unilocal this the night I went! Ordered the chow mein noodles and they were a treat! Customer service is amazing as well. The owner went out of his way to introduce hisself to my bf and I, and he treats his customers like family. The restaurant is nice and cozy inside, but I sat on the outdoor patio for fresh air. Luckily it wasn’t too cold being that there aren’t any heat lamps. This place also has a bar and delivers.

Like several others, we decided to try this place after seeing it on Bay Area Check Please so I didn’t even bother with Unilocal reviews prior to the visit. My mistake. Prepared myself for disappointment when we walked in and I noticed there weren’t any Chinese customers. Needless to say, sorely disappointed in the food here. Honey Walnut Prawns was tasty but price/portion ratio was ridiculous. Remainder dishes(beef w green beans, general tsao chicken, salt pepper pork) were either overly sweet or just meh. Next time I’m in the mood for Americanized Chinese food, will just head to Panda Express(same food, less money) Service was adequate, thus 2 stars… Unfortunately, we won’t be back.

Salt and pepper pork was decent. General Tso’s chicken was not good. Chicken was very tough. Honey walnut prawn was good but pricey and portion was small. Coke tasted like carbonated soda. Service was good. Overall. Expensive for average food. Paid $ 72 plus tip. There are other places that have higher quality, great tasting food for amount around $ 50. Never again.

If you want to eat the American version of Chinese food then go to Yan’s, better than this place, even though neither of them can represent the real Chinese food. Simply the worst Chinese food ever!!!

Went here on a Saturday night and it was dead; I was about to find out why. We ordered the following: hot & sour soup, mu shu pork, crispy spicy fish filet, and beef tomato chow mein. –Service: Good –Hot & Sour Soup: Delicious –Mu Shu Pork: Taste was good, not too salty, but not enough pork. –Crispy Spicy Fish Filet: Too much sauce made it less crispy, and it was more sweet than spicy. –Beef Tomato Chow mein: It was drowning in the same sweet sauce as the fish. Disgusting! There are better places to spend your money. P.F. Changs is better than this place!

I confess I found this place on Bay Area Check Please! It looked super cute and the food looked delicious AND reasonable so I decided why not! We found prime parking in front of the restaurant and decided to eat outside. The waitstaff was very attentive and set up a place right away. We looked over the menu and I asked if they had a princess chicken lunch special(since it wasn’t on the menu) and they did! So I ordered that($ 8.50) and it came with either soup or salad and either white or brown rice. My friend ordered the honey walnut prawn special which also came with the above mentioned options. She also decided on potstickers as an appetizer. The hot and sour soup came out first and was delicious. It had good flavoring and everything was very fresh. Her potstickers came out next. They were very good and I loved the crispy texture. We had a few minutes to catch up while we waited for our entrees but it was a perfect amount of time to wait. Our waitress brought our main dishes and I was pleasantly surprised on the amount of chicken was on my plate(and a little disappointed on how few prawns were on my friends). The flavor in both dishes were fantastic. The princess chicken reminds me of a slightly spicy orange chicken. It was very good. My friends prawns were perfectly breaded and delicious! Overall I really enjoyed the service, atmosphere of the outside dining area, the value of the food, and most importantly the fresh and fantastic food! I’d give it 4.5 stars if Unilocal would let me. I will definitely be bringing boyfriend back!

We were sadly disappointed with our meal. We had read rave reviews and saw the Check Please Bay Area review. We were hoping to find a «go to» Chinese restaurant to replace our beloved Yummy restaurant that closed a couple of years ago. In general we thought it was very mediocre and also too salty. The online menu looked promising. When we saw that they had dim sum we were excited to see that they even had veggie choices. We ordered the onion pancake, the veggie potstickers and the veggie buns. All were priced at $ 3.95 each. The onion pancake seemed to be undercooked on one side and overcooked on the other. It contained very few green onions and was also lacking in flavor. The veggie potstickers(3) were also not very flavorful and the noodle part was a bit tough. The veggie buns(2 per order) were tasty. They were smallish with a spinach filling. We all were served an iceberg salad with a couple of shreds of carrot. The salad was kind of drenched in the dressing. I ordered the Hong Kong style chow mien – crispy noodles with vegetables. There was a nice selection of vegetables – onions, carrots, bok choy, broccoli, mushrooms and snow peas in a nice sauce(although over-salted) on a bed of chow mien noodles only were vaguely crispy. I was hoping for a crispier, crunchier bed of noodles. Son ordered the Orange chicken lunch. It came with just rice. We thought it was suppose to come with soup AND salad, rice, a side of steamed vegetables and fruit. He thought the chicken was okay but he said the portion seemed small. Mr Rinky got the mixed veggies in garlic sauce lunch with brown rice. He thought it was meh. The servings were smaller than the Unilocal photos. The meal was a bit pricey for what it was — $ 43 for our meal without drinks. We left feeling a bit hungry and unsatisfied. The service was excellent – friendly and attentive. The ambiance was very nice too. Too bad the food was subpar. I should have read the reviews more closely. My Unilocal buds Brandi and Victor were right.

Pretty decent Americanized Chinese food. My bf and I ordered take out from here. In speaking with the lady on the phone, she sounded very friendly and was patient with my large order. Surprisingly, the order was ready in only 15 minutes. Between the two of us(please don’t judge as it was fat kid Friday), we got the Peking duck buns, pork lo mein, general tsos chicken, Mongolian beef and the crispy chefs shrimp. Everything tasted pretty good. My favorite was the lo mein as the noodles were really thick and chewy. It would have been better if we had eaten in at the restaurant as a lot of the fried items were a little soggy when we got the food… but that’s to be expected with take out. Next time we’ll be sure to dine in to see how that experience goes.

Food was solid Chinese-American fare. Mom and I dropped in around 1pm. We both got lunch specials. I opted for the garlic shrimp with a scoop of white rice. The shrimp were sauteed with garlic, celery, mushrooms, water chestnuts, carrots and Napa cabbage before being tossed in a clear cornstarch sauce. Mom got the lemon chicken with a scoop of brown rice. My shrimp dish was just OK. The carrots were just past al dente, exactly the way I like it. The onions were totally opaque and raw. They could have used a couple of more minutes cooking. Mom’s lemon chicken was nicely fried white meat. It was moist and not greasy at all. The sauce was tangy and perfectly saucy, not congealed at all. She got a whole lot more chicken compared to my 6 shrimp. Her dish was a better deal than mine. We had a choice of side, either a cup of hot & sour soup or a green salad. I wanted to get a side of hot, sauteed veggies instead since it was too hot for soup and I wasn’t feeling the raw veggies. However, when I asked if this was possible, the server didn’t understand my question. She called her manager who just kept repeating the same choices. After going back and forth several times, I gave up trying to explain what I wanted. Mom got the salad and I got the soup. The soup had a robust flavor and was chock full of bits of tofu, mushrooms and bamboo shoots. The lackluster salad was mostly iceberg lettuce with a few shreds of carrot for color. Paid $ 20 including tip for the 2 of us. Go for the food, resign yourself to uneven quality and rigid service, then pay the piper.

I think this place does a great job of striking a great pose for they way Chinese Restaurants should look and feel. Its very modern and well decorated, nice lighting and seating arrangements in their dining space. Parking is a hassle as Walnut Creek has definitely grown up in the last 10 years, and they are in the heart of downtown. Food was great, shrimp dumplings were fresh and tasty. They do Singapore style noodles which are amazing, quickly becoming my favorite Chinese dish. Beef with ginger and scallions were good– strong ginger, very strong. Had an amazing banana spring roll desert with ice cream. House wines and cocktails are a great price. $ 4 for wine, $ 6 for cocktails. Price is on the higher end for Chinese, but lower end for Walnut Creek. Check them out if you’re in the area.
