Sophie’s Collection

To celebrate our 20^th wedding anniversary, my husband purchased a new ring for me. We had a diamond but wanted a custom setting. Sophie’s knowledge, pleasant demeanor and competitive pricing caused us to choose her. We were very pleased with the outcome and have appreciated getting to know her and Brian. Her sister in law, Ruby, a certified gem appraiser, referred us to Sophie and I’m so glad she did!

My fiancé and I had been shopping for what felt like forever and where getting no where. We found Sophie’s collection nearby and decided to go look. She asked us what we wanted and our budget then set an appointment for us the following weekends so she could go shopping for some diamonds for us. We came back and was blown away by the gorgeous diamond she found in our price range. She was straight forward and taught us everything we needed to know about diamonds, we got to look at them through every tool she had and fell in love with one. From there she custom designed exactly what I wanted while staying in our budget and even our time line. We got the ring in two weeks and it is more beautiful then I can image. She even cleaned the current ring I was wearing for us. Now I have my own custom ring to show all of our friends and family at our engagement party this weekend!!!

Sophie is amazing! Before today I wasn’t a customer, but I had a ring that was much too tight on my finger and I needed it professionally removed. I called Sophie 20 minutes before 6 pm closing and she said she could help me. It was a pretty gnarly situation so she had her husband come back to the shop just to help me! He was such a sweet man and they stayed 20 minutes past closing to assist me. They only charged $ 25 for the removal, and it was completely painless. I may have it resized which she quoted at only $ 45-​$ 50. It really speaks to how fantastic their customer service is that they would go above and beyond for someone who wasn’t a previous customer. They could have easily turned me away but they didn’t, and I will definitely be back!

I discovered Sophie’s Collections from a friend’s recommendation several years ago. I have become a loyal customer ever since. Not only do I take great satisfaction in an excellent selection of custom jewelry, but most importantly, I find the proprietors, Sophie and Brian, to be very knowledgeable about their quality of inventory. After a disappointing purchase/​return experience with online engagement ring shopping, I compared a couple local jewelry stores and decided to have our engagement ring/​wedding bands custom made by Sophie’s Collection. Sophie was very friendly and extremely patient (I am super picky and both my fiancé and I are incredibly indecisive). After showing her what we have in mind for our design, she guided us through all the measurements and details to have our ring custom made. Both Sophie and her husband were very experienced with diamonds and the diamond they helped us picked is the best I have seen at the similar price range. In terms of pricing, Sophie’s price is very reasonable in compare to other jewelry stores I have visited, if not better.

Shopping for an engagement ring was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Luckily I had some close friends recommend an awesome jeweler up in NorCal. Sophie gave me a live tutorial on what each rating meant and took the time to show me the subtle differences which helped me choose the perfect diamond for my fiancée.
She has thus helped myself and two close friends find perfect diamonds for our engagement rings. We couldn’t be happier with the custom settings which Sophie and Brian created to match perfect diamonds. They are worth the 6 hour drive up from SoCal and will continue to recommend them to everyone in the market for jewelry.

Great place for all your jewelry needs. Sophie has a very nice collection of unique pieces where you won’t find at your typical Macy’s, Zales, and etc., not to mention some pieces she designs herself!

I came to Sophie Collection after having a horrible experience with another local jeweler. The owner, Sophie is so nice and friendly. The owners have been in the jewelry business for over 30 years and they know their jewelry. Her prices are very reasonable. My husband and I had her make our custom wedding bands and my engagement ring. I still love my ring 10 years later! I go to her regularly to have my jewelry cleaned, fixed and to purchase new pieces. I have sent my friends and family there too. Nordstrom in Walnut Creek has also used her to repair jewelry for their customers! For a reliable and honest jeweler go see Sophie!

Sophie Chen is the owner, and seems knowledgable, plus speaks Cantonese, which I guess is good if you want fine jewelry outside of dealing with jewelers in Chinatown.
