Great fish tacos! Service was attentive and good, food came fast after ordering. Try the garlic fries too!

Everything about Walnut Creek Yacht Club is Five Stars! Exceptionally fresh seafood; extremely friendly and attentive staff; deliciously decadent desserts! My perennial go to restaurant for any occasion/celebration.

If you love oysters, look no more. The best oysters are large Chelsea Gem raw oysters, point Reyes are very salty. Smaller ones are good too. This is my 5th visit here and I love it. I recommend Halibut with creamy sauce, dayboat scallops(few but delicious), and swordfish. My husband is having mussels, perfect. Great atmosphere and friendly timely service.

Oh my! Do I love the Yacht Club! My husband and I have been here a handful of times. Every waiter we have had has provided us with excellent service and drink recommendations. My first visit I let my waiter know I wanted to try some oysters but was I’ve never had them before. He was nice enough to bring me a couple to try before I ordered. The food is top notch, drinks are delish and the service has never let me down.

If this review was written by either of my colleagues it most likely would be a 3 star, but it’s not written by them it’s written by me and I have a much higher standard for service then they do. When I go to any restaurant I expect a decent flow of service — take my drink order and have that served within a few minutes, return with drink and take my food order — whether it is an appetizer or an entrée — I expect that the food will be delivered within 20 to 30 minutes unless of course, like this place does, bread is served. However, after about 45 minutes I should have my food. The drinks should be replenished without me asking and once I am done eating — I expect my server to return to see if I want desert, which I normally do. I expect that to be served within 10 to 15 minutes. At no time or place should I have to be at a place for three hours to accomplish this — for Pete’s sake, my legs feel asleep from sitting there so long. Service in my opinion was horrible. The steak that was ordered was over-cooked — no surprise as they obviously took far too long with everything. The prices were far to high for the quality of the good and the strawberry shortcake, which the server said was her favorite was the worst I have ever had — no flavor and the shortcake was terrible. Even getting the bill and paying for it took too long. Parking — well forget it — I mean you are in California where parking is not always easy to find — thank God it wasn’t raining! If you aren’t in the main dining area and need to use the restrooms — it’s a walk back outside and into the main are, all the way to the back — though everything was clean — between the pricing, taste, service and speed — the decent cleanliness wasn’t saving them. The reason I wouldn’t return though is stricktly because of the horrible service!

Amazing, great seafood! Everything we had was delicious. We ordered oysters, crab cakes, ceviche, mahi mahi tacos, and had the bread pudding for dessert. The drinks are great too! I give this place an A+++.

Absolutely awesome experience. Another wonderful evening. This time, we were earlier than the normal Saturday evening diners, so we got a table right away(just before 6:00 pm). The servers were all fantastic. The clam chowder was the best I’ve ever had. period! Smooth, creamy, bacon, clams… a party in my mouth! Had the fish & chips. Again, the best I’ve ever had. Crisp on the outside, inside was tender beyond belief. Only downside was that they ran out of dungeness crab, so the wife was a bit let down. But, not their fault. Blame the crab toxins due to the algae in the oceans due to El Nino due to climate change due to global warming due to mankind… Anyways, everything was just awesome. 10+ across the board WCYC! Oh, and the bloody mary was great too!

Great atmosphere and the fish and chips were delicious,(not too greasy). Service was an experience and the reggae Christmas music was good vibes. Not the type of restaurant I would normally go to, but I was definitely not disappointed!

My hubby and I came here for Valentine’s Day lunch since we can hardly get away from our son! This is a perfect spot since it serves solid seafood and is not too stuffy. I wouldn’t call it romantic but it depends on what you are in the mood for. We started with their chowder soup to share and fish taco. The bacon chowder is a huge win for me. It is so rich and dense and who can resist anything with bacon in it? Fish taco is very fresh and light, which is different from the typically battered ones I have had in the past. My grilled Halibut fish with lemon butter and Asian garlic and sesame sauce was also really good. It is a very simple dish but the freshness really brings out the true flavor of fish. Overall, it was a great experience and price is fair. I would love to come back and try other dishes!

We’ve been here several times and it’s always enjoyable. Contrary to some reviews we’ve always had good service, good food and an enjoyable experience. It can get quite loud when the place is packed so don’t expect a quiet intimate spot to wine and dine. January is Lobster Month and I look forward to it every year. You have to be a member of their club(accumulating dining points) to partake in the annual lobster feast but you must make reservations early or you won’t get in. Can’t beat the price of the year($ 20.16, in 2016) for a pound and a half lobster, cole slaw and good fries! There’s a full bar with an incredible selection of wine, beers and cocktails, but it’s not cheap! On our recent visit I ordered my usual Grey Goose martini. It was perfect except when the bill came there was an additional $ 3.50 charge over what the martini amount for Grey Goose! Not a fan of that. Next time I’ll stick with a glass of wine.

The WCYC is one of my favorite restaurants in Walnut Creek. Great atmosphere, service and most importantly, food! I’ve enjoyed all dishes so far but my favorites are the steamer clam and/or mussels and grilled lobster. I looked forward to every meal here. Seafood lovers paradise.

Meh. Had dinner here and was expecting a great seafood meal, instead appetizer & main meal were greasy & soaked with butter, here are more details. My friend and I decided to grab dinner here. When we were seated we told our waiter we wanted separate checks straight off the bat. When we got our check at the end, it was one check. So much for listening to your customers. For appetizers ordered mussels & calamari. The calamari was ok, the mussels required tweezers to pick up them up since they were so miniature, and they were tasteless. My entrée was scallops with a side of brussel sprouts. To my disappointment it tasted more like butter. The sprouts were over streamed. Not sure how you can screw up cooking scallops??? I don’t think I’m coming back here anytime soon.

When you have to wait an hour for a salad and a burger. Something is wrong. I used to really enjoy the WCYC. It was my favorite higer-end place for seafood in the East Bay. But the last couple times we went, and the last time specifically the service was incredibly insanely slow. We waited over an hour for my plain burger and his salad to come out. And when it did, my burger was bloody in the middle. Not even close to the medium well I’d asked for. We sent it back and low and behold it took another 15 minutes to get it back. Which, I guess is nice, that they made a second entirely new burger for me and that ya know… it only took 15 minutes that time But honestly, and maybe I’m rather low class about this. But either nuke my burger so I can have some food — or bring something out for me to eat(bread, a cup of soup, etc.). A hour to wait for such simple food is ludicrous and they fact they made me wait another 15 minutes to fix their mistake was simply irritating. Had the waitress been anywhere in sight I would have asked for more bread, but no. The service every time I come back is farther and farther downhill. I think this is the last time I’ll be back.

Came here since my husband friends recommend to try this resto. We came for one of my bday celeb lunch. Our server was nice & helpful since it’s our first time here, the lady at the front not so much. That’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. She was annoyed that the 3rd party is a toddler & that I’m asking for a booster seat! Anyways, it’s Fresh seafood I really like what I have which is Bluenose bass & polenta fries. My husband had the King Salmon & sautéed spinach with garlic. He like his food and said he will come back again. My princess had Chicken skewer+rice, we asked how’s her food. Her response was«good!» Overall, the food was all fresh except that the lady in the front annoyed me… No one can discriminate my kid.

I have got to say I have been wanting to try the mahi mahi here for over a year but we never made it in due to the fact that we have a little one and thought we would get some not so pleasant looks bring a toddler in. So finally, we made reservations to celebrate our wedding anniversary; our first ever solo dinner date since before our daughter was born almost 4 years ago. This place did NOT disappoint! Our whole experience was pleasant, the service and hospitality was the best I have experienced in a long time. The food was amazing. We started with the calamari and it was super fresh and nicely battered, so delicate and delicious! I got the mahi mahi blackened and my husband got the sea bass with the lemon wine sauce; both pieces of fish were cooked perfectly and the polenta fries cooked a bit crispy-Amazing! As if we didn’t eat enough to or drink enough, we ordered dessert-the warm brownie sundae and they surprised us with a complementary crème brûlée which was gone in less than a minute. Definitely the best seafood place in East Bay. The only downside was the tables are really close to each other, you can pretty much expect to hear all conversations around you, which kind of makes the experience a tad less enjoyable for date night.

I went here the other day with friends and enjoyed a delicious meal. The food is very on point. I ordered a Caesar salad to start, and mahi mahi in lemon butter caper. They give you options of various sides, and I chose the potato au gratin dish. The potatoes were very rich and delicious, plus they had a nice kick with the jalapeño. The mahi mahi was fresh and I almost wanted to lick the plate with the lemon butter caper. The only thing that keeps this place from getting more stars was the service. Seth our server said it was a busy night, but we waited almost 45 minutes for our food, then he didn’t bring out all desserts at once. The dinner took well over 21 ½ hours, and it was because of the service. He was apologetic, but I don’t expect dinner should take that long. We also had to ask other runners to help us with bread and water because he wasn’t being attentive. Overall, good food but slightly poor service.

Our service was horrible but the food made up for it. We waited forever for our drinks, taking the order… We were there 90 minutes longer than we needed to be in all. Our«bar backs» were way more attentive than our primary server. if we could. we would have given them our server’s tip. With that said. the food was on point. The girls and I got an oyster variety which was a great way to start off the meal. My girl and I did some side dishes and plates. Crab cake were meh. but the polenta fries were perfect. crispy outside and soft inside. The spinach was also delicious. The mac in cheese was gone… Our other friend’s mahi mahi with mashed potatoes was to die for. Will come back perhaps on a weekday to try it again when it is less busy. if that is possible(all table were filled on our way out)

The look on my face when we showed up for our reservation at 2:00 only to have the hostess tell us that the restaurant was closed for a private party must have been priceless. We gave her the reservation time and the name and she quickly apologized then escorted us to the Aft Deck. The Aft Deck is a separate dining room on the side of the main restaurant. A little smaller and highly nautical themed. We were told to take a seat anywhere so we decided to sit against the back wall near the entrance to the kitchen. It was a very quiet day in the Aft Deck with only two other parties dining in. After staring at the menu for quite sometime I narrowed my choices down to two options. The Local Pacific Albacore Tuna Melt and the Idaho Trout BLT Sandwich. The BLT won and I added a cup of the West Indian«Pepperpot» soup. The trout BLT was pretty spectacular. The fish filet was thin it’s true but it was also very flavorful. Any more then that would be too much. The bacon, tomato and lettuce were true compliments for the trout. They add their own mayonnaise which was delicious as well. The sandwich does look flat and I admit I was a little skeptical at first. But once I devoured the thing I realized it’s not always about the size of the sandwich. Savor the flavor. The«Pepperpot» soup was delicious. Shrimp, chicken, fish with tomatoes and a lime on the rim. They don’t say what kind of fish, just«fish». Judging by the taste, my guess would be Cod. Either way it was delicious. The soup had a great kick that was just the perfect amount of spice needed. It did get spicier as I ate on and on a cool winter day it was exactly what I needed. The service was pretty good. We had two waitresses waiting on us. One was more inexperienced than the other. She made small mistakes like bring food to the wrong table which is a mistake every server makes. The other waitress had a great attitude, and when a problem was brought to her attention she was quick to have it fixed. The experience wasn’t 100% amazing, but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and can’t wait until my next visit.
