Beyond the absolute kindness and generosity of the staff, the space was spectacular. In particular, we had the pleasure of being there during a pre-WWII kimono trunk show. The bathhouse itself is incredibly beautiful. Authentic, filled with light, and all the modern amenities to make the experience perfect. A truly wonderful experience that I will repeat again, hopefully very soon.

This is a beautiful Japanese bathhouse in a historic town along the Sacramento River. The Japanese bathhouse was lovingly restored. They offer lodging and massages can be arranged ahead of time. There is a quiet garden for picnics or ceremonies.

Fantastic experience at Miyazaki BathHouse and Gallery. We enjoyed a night in the lodging, the place is unique, well decorated and you feel that the time has stopped. We have spent an evening in the bathhouse and we had the place for ourselves for 2 hours. Montserrat took the time to explain in details how it worked and everything was available to make our experience rich and special(relaxing music, spa products, moonlight). We loved it and we will definitely come back

I am so impressed and beyond happy with my experience this morning! Montserrat and Deborah went above and beyond, from the moment I called to make the appointment to giving us a tour of the osinto and accommodating us 110%. Co-owner Montserrat graciously received my call to make an appointment a month ago, as their calendar quickly fills up for weekends. She not only took the time to converse with me but also genuinely cared about how I heard about them. She told me their simple reservation policy and ended the call with enthusiasm. Today my bestie and I arrived 15 minutes early, as suggested, and received a very thorough tour and explanation how to have a proper osento experience. They offer salt scrubs made in-house to enhance the steam room as well as eucalyptus and rose petals for $ 5 each. Your two hours start the moment they leave the small building, and you’re free to roam about the cabin at your leisure. You can alternate between the hot soak, cool shower, and steam room all while hydrating with water or caffeine-free tea. Their lounge area is a great place to pause, shut out the world, and let the detoxifying effects work their magic. A few tips for your visit: — Bring plenty of water!!! You’ll need it to replenish the constant sweating from your hot treatments. — Bring healthy snacks/food! The body loves nothing more than nourishing eats while relaxing and releasing toxins. — Remember your moisturizers and any facial products you use. Don’t forget to remoisturize your skin after sweating any form of product away for almost 2 hours. Montserrat and Jeep truly have a gem hidden in Walnut Grove. I want nothing more than their treasure to do well, but I don’t want to share this oasis with anyone either ;-)

Lets start with the owners; after all they are responsible for creating and maintaining the environment and atmosphere. Montserrat and Eugene(Jeep) are just two of the loveliest, down to earth people; good, gentle souls who love what they have created and take pride in what they do. I have been twice and will return again. What a relaxing, beautiful and spiritual way to spend 2 hours. Such a wonderful space; great salts, scents, water and steam. They have restored a historic place and created their own place of magic. Wonderful people create wonderful places; that’s that. Thank you!

Four friends converged on the bathhouse last weekend for an overnight and we’re already talking about when we can return. Monserrat and her husband were very gracious hosts and answered our pre-visit emails in a timely manner. What is offered is so much more than what’s described on their website, so be prepared to be taken care of in the most thoughtful way. For starters, the lodging is charming, unique and very comfortable for four people. I can attest that the bed was very comfortable, with none of that weird sagging in the middle which forces you to brace yourself from rolling somewhere unwanted. The friends on futon declared it to be very comfortable as well, and we enjoyed lounging in the living area and kitchen area, which is quite spacious. Our time in the bath was extremely relaxed and enjoyable. You get to use not only the bathing area, but also to relax in the gallery itself – what indulgence! We were offered ice cold drinks and use of the many different salts, though we were too chicken to test them out. Walnut Grove itself is small, though worth a walk around the neighborhood. Decent pizza and breakfast are within walking distance, though you may want to bring your own drinks or snacks to maximize time in the charming upstairs rooms. A lovely, hidden gem!

What a gem this is. From the beautiful, if rugged, Sacramento Delta — you enter another world at Miyazaki Bathhouse. Lovingly and artfully restored by two visionary artists, Miyazaki is so serene and relaxing. We spent two hours — from the steam room, to the hot bath to a brief nap on the Tatami mat in the Gallery. It was precisely what we needed to relax and refresh before beginning a long week. We will return, most certainly. I highly recommend this unique escape, in a surprising location. Only 30 minutes from Sacramento — you’ll be delighted you made the trip!

The wife and I spent two hours relaxing in this beautifully restored bath house. The original tiled baths are in a large wood room with two great skylights, They get you started then leave you alone for two hours. You set the water temperature and level. There is lavender and rose petals for the water and an amazing salt scrub. The steam room is nice and a good place to apply the salt scrub. Two baths can be set at different temps to let you alternate hot and cold. You have access to an adjacent tea room and kimonos to wear, plus you can plug your iPod into their speakers. It’s a great place for two but big enough for eight. This is private soaking not communal soaking. Montse and Jeep wiil make your soak a pleasant experience.

I went to hear Betsey and Beau sing their original songs at the Miyazaki Gallery. Fabulous music. Fabulous art to enjoy while sipping hot ginger tea. Luxuriated in the hot waters of the beautifully restored Japanese baths adjoining the gallery. The Miyazaki is the center of what feels like being in a time machine… stepping back into the 1930s-40s…what a find this place is. Jeep and Montserrat have created a sweet jewel of a place to spend an evening or a week. Lovely old world elegance.
