Real hand made yam and taro ball. Better then meet fresh. You must try it. Very testy.

I am from Taiwan, and I certified Bin Bin Konjac is the most authentic Taiwanese food in 626 area. Yes, I said the whole 626. Before I hype it up, allow me to explain: Food — 4 and half stars. First, I gave 4 and half because I gave Shimbala 3 and half. I was amazed by this tiny restaurant. A lot of so called«Taiwanese» restaurant always miss certain key ingredients and got lazy. Let me tell you what others are missing and BBK surprised me: 1. Oyster pancake: The quality of oyster defines this signature Taiwanese appetizer. BBK offers nice rounded and fresh oyster. Not nasty at all. I hope they can continue this way because others failed. 2. Shred Chicken rice bowl: this could be the most authentic dish in the whole menu. The legit chicken rice bawl would use the naturally steam concentrated chicken oil to flavor the steam rice in order to highlight the smell and taste. BBK is the only one I know who makes perfect chicken rice bawl. 3. Crispy pork in soup: wow! So flavorful. The dish is small but it packs with the essences. The fried pork is cooked perfectly. The meat would detach from the bone the moment you put it in your mouth. 4. Other dishes I order tonight are pretty standard: popcorn chicken(portion is large), vegetable stew, and dry noodles. 2. Location and service: 3 and half stars. It locates in the less popular commercial property close to Mt.SAC. The restaurant is very small. There was only one lady taking orders and serving on Sunday night. There were only 2 tables in the rainy day, and already took most of her energy. You will need to have some patience. It’s not the best place you want to go if you are in the rush.

Fastest wifi to be found. Like being at home Food is okay. Portions not the biggest. Drinks are a little pricy but come in cool cups. The service is really good and it is not very busy so you always get a seat

Came here after exploring the plaza. Found it to be pretty nice. The interior décor is so cute! Very cozy and warm. My friend and I ordered the lemon konjac, sweet potato/taro balls, and fried sweet potato balls. They were all pretty good. The fried sweet potato balls came with this sweet dip, and it tasted pretty good. Very unique. The taro balls had a bit of a tangy taste, but that might be just me. Anyways, a pretty good place, and definitely will come back!

Man, been here once and I love it already. Cute décor, clear menu, and really yummy Asian desserts. There’s some sort of clear jelly that I used to eat in China, but when the cashier let me sample the konjac, I realized it wasn’t what I imagined at all. It’s almost like coconut jelly but easier to bite through and a little more solid too. Honey konjac is just a little sweet and tastes great. I ended up with the cold tofu pudding with konjac and grass jelly. The sweetness, different textures, and deliciousness of all these made-in-the-shop ingredients made it a wonderful dessert. Grass jelly had the true taste of grass jelly, hard to describe, but definitely much better than the cans you buy in grocery stores. Tofu pudding was soft and silky. For first-timers, everything else can be eaten on its own but the tofu pudding needs to be eaten with the«soup» or else you will find it quite bland. Overall, it is just sweet enough to be considered a dessert, but not overbearingly sweet at all. Cashier was nice to explain a little bit about konjac and give recommendations(which I will get the next time I go back). Brings memories of dessert nights in China!

The Mango Punch is dope, man. I dream of the stuff. Though insistent to a certain degree, the staff is welcoming and courteous. Definitely a great aesthetic and atmosphere this place has going for it. Will definitely come back.

This place was alright, really cute place for a little date, pick your own seat i think and i’m not sure if you’re supposed to order first and then sit or what. anyways. girlfriend and i decided on the mango and konjac shaved ice. *shaved ice, not snow… I thought it was snow… meh. i think portions are a little smaller than those from other shaved snow places… meh we got it in a timely manner, mangoes and konjac with some condensed milk and a scoop of sorbet in the middle. be wary, the sweetener kind of sinks to the bottom so try mixing it if it’s not sweet enough. they had no problems adding extra condensed milk for us. everything was pretty good, konjac was pretty much just tasteless crunchy jelly. the sweetness was nice. went well with the sorbet and mango. but yeah. dont get it if you have sensitive teeth. sigh. anyway it was good. we got hungry later after we started studying(they have free wifi) and decided to get sweet potato balls… not really sweet potato… but more like deep fried mochi balls with a hint of sweet potato. came with a matcha dipping sauce and it was alright. i wouldn’t get it again. i tried it with pepper salt and it was pretty good. meh. nice service, nice place to chill on a summer day. will be back.

Wow this place can get super busy on a Saturday! The drinks are so affordable and delicious. I didn’t get any of their food but my friends did and their meals smelt delicious! This is a really good place to have a study group. It was just quiet enough to concentrate but not deathly silent like a library. The only reason I am taking a star of is because one of the employees started, literally, blasting music when a group of five of us were the only ones in there. We weren’t being loud at all! Go ahead, love music & jam to this song! But this isn’t a club…

This place is right next to my work and I usually pass by but recently have been grabbing a quick bite to eat or something to drink. This place is very kind and has great service. I usually order the popcorn chicken and a milk tea during my lunch time. It is a little more pricey than the bigger tea shops but still worth it not to mention the customer service is well worth it! I recommend stopping by here if you’re either a student, a local or in the area. Great food, drinks and service, what more can you ask for?

This place has some of the most amazing Taiwanese desserts around. The cream milk is amazing that they use, along with the jellies. If you havent tried this place and you love sweet desserts, you gotta try!

Still cash only. Hubby and I went to Bin Bin Konjac a lot before and after we got married because konjac is pretty much no-carb and low-calorie. Which meant that I could munch on it, feel full, and not need to be too worried on my calorie count when I was on my keto diet. After coming off of the keto diet(though I’ll probably get back on it in a few weeks), we’ve leaned more towards a preference for konjac and grass jelly instead of boba and fruit bits. During the last few months when hubby and I were off of keto, we decided to explore a bit more on their menu. We’ve bought the cold potato ball soup(with boba, pudding, and red bean) for his parents, which they’ve always enjoyed(though the mention that the soup is very sweet because of the syrup that is in it). Hubby has become more creative and tried their red bean or mung bean smoothies, both which were very good and not too sweet. I’ve tried their basic teas(green and black), which has always been freshly brewed either earlier that morning, or earlier that day. Ingredients have always been good portion sizes, taste has always been consistent, and service has always been good. Haven’t tried the hot drinks or any of the hot foods(which look and smell delicious). Definitely an option once it hits winter.

— Locale Destination — It’s on Amar Rd and N Grand Ave in Walnut. It’s in a big shopping plaza on the corner. It’s right by «MJ Café & Teahouse». GPS on Unilocal App took me so wrong way — It’s right on Amar Rd and N Grand Ave. The décor is kinda«story book» like. Sorta cute. They got plugs and free Wi-Fi: password — strawberry. Cash only! Great customer service — very friendly and through. Lots of parking. They use real fruit and less sweetness for health — to keep the calories low(konjac has zero calorie). Even I feel I want more sugar, but the clientele prefer less sugar for diet/healthy dessert. Konjac is great alternative for boba — less calories with the similar texture. *** Konjac *** I was wondering what it was — I thought some sort of special dessert for Korean till I saw«蒟蒻» — it’s «konnyaku». Nothing special for Japanese… We eat this a lot. Konnyaku(Japanese), gonyak(Korean), pinyin(Chinese), also known as konjak, devil’s tongue, voodoo lily, snake palm, or elephant yam(though this name is also used for A. paeoniifolius), is a plant of the genus Amorphophallus. It is native to warm subtropical to tropical eastern Asia(from Japan and China south to Indonesia). In Japan, there are two basic types of «konnyaku» cakes — white and black used for cooking(for hot pot etc.). We also have a sweet dessert version for juice and desserts. Pushing the cake through a grid of sharp blades at the end of a wooden box gives noodles, called«shirataki». We enjoy the texture, though it doesn’t have a taste. It has zero calories — it’s often used for diet. — Gluttony Expedition — Konjac milk tea: Not sweet. Now they upgrade to the bigger size on the food order!(Regular size price would be the large!) Milk tea isn’t sweet. Konjac isn’t tasteless by itself. They put it a lot. Meh. Mango fruit punch: They use real mango — you feel the tiny mango bits in it. I’m not a fan of «fruit punch» in general, but I like this. Fresh strawberry slush: they seem to use fresh strawberry. They drizzle condensed milk. Not too sweet and tasty! Honey lemon Konjac: Nice flavor with subtle sweetness. Wish it were a bit sweeter. They haven’t had it on menu yet, so they’re only available in a small container. Small one is like $ 4, and big one was like $ 9 or so. The server was so awesome, and let me taste those new«konjac» products: Goji berry Konjac: nice! Pineapple konjac: Not bad. Grass jelly w 2 choice — I picked«konjac» and«taro/sweet potato ball». Jelly wasn’t too bitter, good sweetness, a lil too soft for my liking but good. Taro was in the rice cake ball — good. Sweet potato ball was sweet n good. Konjac just adds texture. $ 3.99. Light dessert. Not bad. Popcorn chicken: It was more meaty than usual. I tried it with non spicy. It’s ok. The sides were just ok. But it was cheap — so, not bad as a whole. Pork chop: It did smell«pork» and its seasonings didn’t seem to help solving the problem. Side eggs w corn was ok, cabbages were warm(I’m not a big fan of cold side dish for this type of dishes) and not bad. Pass. — Conqueror’s Deduction — I’m rather«healthier» eater in general. I sometimes eat bad stuff for Unilocal and out of my adventurous curiosity. I’m not a fan of «too sweet» dessert. Even I think these need a little more sweetness. You’d probably want a lot more than I do. They do it on purpose to keep the calories down for their clientele. People, stop being so fat so that they could give me more sweetness ;p These konjac would be a lot better if they were a bit sweeter. Their drinks are good except for milk tea. Those are the one with the right amount of sweetness. Desserts are light and healthier. Foods were just so so. Decent free Wi-Fi, great customer service. Why not you like?

This place is okay to me. It’s sad how there was no one there eating around lunch time. They’re known for konjac, this type of jelly that has health benefits. It’s not too sweet too. They also provide free wifi and other small Taiwanese dishes. Their service was pretty good. I like how they’re willing to give a small sample cup of most of the drinks available. If you like matcha, their matcha green tea with konjac is pretty good. Their green milk tea is definitely not too sweet so that’s perfect if that’s your preference. Overall, this place was pretty average. They’re doing cash only for now until they get their credit card machine installed. Sad they don’t do stamp cards anymore too.):

Maybe it was just a slow Monday and we arrived a hour before they close… This place has such a big menu including almost all types of Taiwanese traditional dessert that lot of people might never heard of… so promising to be good… had the hot grass jelly w/konjac and yam/taro balls. It was served lukewarm which was not suppose to be. The flavor was very watery. The yam/taro ball were hard without the chewy texture, it had been sit there for a while. $ 1 milk tea with konjac… since it is $ 1, not too much to complain about. Overly too sweet and did not have any tea flavor to it. I also tried the mango konjac juice which was very sweet. We were expecting it to be a smoothie but it was just like a watery juice. I couldn’t really taste any natural flavor in it even though it has fruit fiber in it(not like from fresh fruit but can) . The service was very friendly…

Konjac is ZERO calories? According to . That’s a bonus! If someone can verify that. This is one of the better alternative to the sugar-soaked tapioca balls(not sold here). Although I still love both. I remembered I was very disappointed when the location in Rowland Heights closed years ago and all was right with the world again when I discovered this location! Which is also much closer to home and so now I have to practice self-control and not over do it. The one and only drink I absolutely love and order is #16 Strawberry Konjac, which is basically blended strawberries slush with konjac and a splash of condensed milk. The fresh blended fruit and subtle sweetness makes a perfect combination and a refreshing drink with the occasional chewy konjac to keep things exciting. One additional star would be automatically given for the free wifi but max rating is 5. The establishment is pretty clean but I just pick up a drink and leave so I can’t say anything about the state of the restroom. Since it is never crowded when I go, that’s also means parking is very easy. Tip: Ask for stamps on a stamp card for your orders to redeem a free drink after 10th stamp. 集滿10個印章送飲料一杯。

When I went inside, no any other person… Also… I thought their prices are low. The rice is ok… But when I got the drink! OMG! The drink was not really like its name! Where are my favorite taro ball?! Just three little ones that in a mini bowl! Where are the grass jellies?!Nothing! Just some red bean and green bean soup! I feel cheated! ヽ(‘´)ノ Finally, I can understand, why their prices are low… because the food are terrible… In fact, I just wanna say, I won’t go here one more time!

Service is a bit slow. I don’t understand how food comes out faster than premixed drinks and desserts but whatevs. Ordered the pork chop fried rice — friend complained that it was sweet(must be the sauce?) and that he’d order something else the next time were in the area since everything is so reasonably priced. I had letter A in terms of dessert. I think it was the green tea shaved ice with konjac and red beans. The shaved ice was a bit sweet even without any condensed milk but the konjac was yummy! Prices are cheap and the employees are very personable. Great pit stop spot if you’re in the mood for some konjac!

I love the consistency of the konjac! I ordered the milk green tea with konjac($ 2.50) and it was very good. More of a matcha flavor than a regular green tea flavor, but it was nicely creamy and a little sweet. The konjac floats though, so at first I was drinking a lot of the liquid portion and not getting any konjac cubes. At the end, I was left with a pile of the jelly cubes. I noticed that the cups are smaller than the cups from normal boba places though(like a tall at Starbucks), which upsets me. Also some of the konjac cubes were so big that they could not fit through my fat straw and I had to open the lid on my drink to pick at them. The desserts seem decently priced(*eyes the 2.50 konjac-redbean-barley one*) .I think next time I come I will order something I can eat with a spoon … FREEWI-FI !!! Yip yip !! And they have startlingly adorable Christmas poster on the wall featuring Santa, a snowman, a reindeer, and a penguin!!! I am a big fan of Christmas 365 days of da year ~~

What is Konjac? It is a type of jelly with purported healthful benefits. It’s light and doesn’t taste like much but has a nice delicate texture. If your are having a sweet tea drink might as well have it be healthy. The barley and red bean options are also interesting for dessert and easily associated with healthful properties.
