Avoid. I think I’m going to be sick. The rice tasted absolutely horrible. Overcooked and possibly reheated. Soooo overcooked and mushy! Miso was watered down. The entire establishment had smell of sth rotten. I would’ve given my food back if I had been alone but my 4 yr old would’ve gone nuts. And I didn’t have the blood sugar level to deal with that. The food in general tasted like it had been reheated from a previous cooking. The miso had no flavor and tasted like it was reheated and over boiled. Even fresh INSTANT soup tastes better. The CA roll tasted like it was made with past due cream cheese. And the unagi nigiri sauce also tasted past due or too old, and was like eating a ball of mushy rice. The food was so bad, I didn’t even see a reason to complain. They would have had to make fresh batches of soup and rice and crab mix to fix it.

I was really craving sushi and I had a class in the next hour so I needed a quick and nearby spot and found this little restaurant right in front of my college. This is the first time I come here with my sis and she’s not a big fan of sushi but I am: D The place is fairly small, not a lot going on, one tv and fans that barely circulate the air. Ambience is dull and seems like a nice quiet spot to have a quick lunch There is only one waitress. Yup, one waitress for the whole restaurant(not that there was many people but really?) idk if she’s like the sister or wife of the owner, but she did her job fairly neat. We were greeted, told to take any seat wee wanted, but she didn’t give us the menu or items. You pretty much come in, grab the menu and chop sticks(no forks or spoons) on your own And sit wherever you want. Ight then. The waitress wasn’t friendly at all. Being the only waitress I understand why she is stressed out but damn a smile could be nice. And she was rushing too, I even tried asking her what the beatable role contained and she didn’t even want to explain and all she said was«salad inside» like wtf??? Yea nice now give me names and details please. She didn’t even bother to look at me, and kept insisting all there was inside was a salad. The only thing she did good was bringing us our food and water. That’s it. Nothing else. I ended up ordering the avocado sushi since she didn’t want to explain to me what type of vegetables go in the vegetable role and I also ordered vegetable tempura since I was craving veggies but, then again, no sushi explanation! The avocado sushi was only 6 cuts, they were small, and tbh didn’t even have much going on or flavor. I mean, it’s an avocado sushi, but that doesn’t mean it can’t have no flavor. They were small as hell too, and trust me six pieces won’t fill you up, like thank god I ordered the vegetable tempura The tempura wasn’t even that good. The fried batter was tasteless, not even flavored, just fried until all that was left was grease around the poor lil veggie. I love tempura, but this was just plain, not even crispy, and the portion wasn’t even a good size enough to grab. Most of the pieces were too big. I support small business, I really do, but unless you like a cheap quick meal then I don’t really recommend this spot.

The sushi was good, but not good enough to make up for the poor service. My friend and I dined here at about 12:30, and the place wasn’t very crowded. But since the sushi is fresh, it did take a bit before we received our plates. When my plate came, I let the waitress know that she had brought the wrong thing – a California roll – when I had asked for a cucumber roll. She argued with me, and showed me the ticket she wrote the order on, which also showed California roll. She took the order incorrectly, and was angry at me for her mistake. Through the rest of the meal, she did not say anything – not even«thank you» or «have a nice day» when we left – and she set the plates down on the table very hard when she finally brought the right food. If she had handled the situation more effectively and kindly, the mix up would not have been a problem-I’ve worked in a restaurant, and I understand that waitress and waiters, like everyone else, are entitled to a few mistakes. However, she handled this minor situation so ungracefully, that I doubt I would recommend Domo to anyone else because of the poor service. She really was quite rude. Ultimately, the sushi is good, so I may order takeout, but I wouldn’t eat here and be subjected to the poor dine-in service again.

This is my favorite sushi bar closest to campus. The prices are reasonable and the portions are quite large. I needed to take two bites to just finish one slice of their specialty rolls. I eat sushi regularly and I haven’t found other sushi restaurants that serve comparable portions. Miso soup is complimentary with orders but it has no flavor. It taste like warm water. Speaking of water, their tap water does not taste like drinking water. At best, the taste of their water is like melted ice. When it comes to putting ice into your drink, the staff is very conservative, as a result the water is never cold. The chopsticks here are not great but they won’t give you splinters either. Basically, just come here if you’re hungry for sushi but don’t go here looking for the ambience of a sushi bar.

Food is ok. The sauce that they drizzle over the Crazy and Crunch roll was not appealing. The shrimp was not fresh. I have had better Baked Salmon. Bento boxes were not«Happy» as other reviews has mentioned. Disappointed as the reviews was giving this place 4 stars.

Yum yum yum. This place is worth every penny when it comes to their rolls. They are filled with juicy crab. I like that the waitresses get you what you need and don’t try to act fake. They do their job and get you what you need. I can enjoy my space and quiet time.

Sushi place right next to my school! I like coming here before class so I can get my quick sushi fix. The sushi is pretty good & you get a bowl of miso soup with your order too. Yummmmm. Pretty affordable too & fresh.

I tried one of their bento boxes meal and it was pretty good. I had chicken teriyaki with tempura. The tempura was my favorite. It was nice and crispy. However, I gave this sushi restaurant a 4 because I feel like they need more waitresses and waiters to provide better costumer service

Highly recommend this place(: the sushi is really good!!! I ordered a spicy tuna hand roll and it was sooo good. We also ordered California roll, baked salmon roll which was soooooooo good, and the first order from the tempura section. I like the fact that it’s located across the street from Mt.Sac. It’s a small business but the sushi chef for sure knows what he’s doing(: the waitress was very attentive. I let her know my boyfriend was allergic to soy and she took care of what was out in and in the rolls for us. Thank y’all. Y’all were great.

Okay I’ve been coming to Domo for over 10 years now. I practically grew up on their food. There is really no other reason for my consistent visits to Domo(and by consistent I mean weekly at one point) besides the fact that their food is always fresh and delicious, the price is reasonable, and the service is excellent. I believe Domo is family owned, and they truly work hard to make a living with their food and service. It doesn’t seem like they are doing this to get good Unilocal reviews, which is what a lot of businesses focus on nowadays more so than genuine customer satisfaction. On to the FOOD– I usually order the Chicken or Beef Udon, depending on what kind of a meaty mood I’m in heh. OK In *my* opinion, their udons are the best I’ve ever had. I know that’s saying alot, but after living in west LA for about 10 years, I realized that«authentic» Japanese udon really doesn’t taste that great to me, nor does overpriced(usually super salty or tasteless) udon offered at many asian restaurants in LA. I have yet to experience a restaurant that has put in as much effort into a simple, hearty bowl of udon. I mean come on, they add veggies, rice cakes, fish cake, tiny mushrooms, tempura flakes, in their delicious broth of noodles. Their meat is not dry and super tasty too. On top of that it’s about $ 7 – 8 dollars. My favorite sushi roll is probably the Hot Night Roll. I would totally recommend getting this! I also like the Golden roll which is a deep fried California Roll basically. Honestly, this is as good as it gets for the price you pay. It is one of my go-to restaurants in Walnut if I just want to eat some noodles or rolls. I’m really shocked this place doesn’t have at least 4 or 4.5 stars! Maybe I just haven’t tasted much outside of what I have ordered. In any case, Domo is awesome, and if you gave it a chance, you would think so too.

Are u craving some quick cheap sushi with almost non existent customer service?! Then this is the place for you! The place is not too bad, it’s ok. First time here, was going to go with a cheap California roll($ 4.508pc) but decided to go with the«Happy Box»($ 12.54) and it came with a lot of food! It came with a 3pc California roll, 1 pc tuna, 1 pc salmon, teriyaki chicken, tempura, salad, rice, tofu and an orange :) That was a pretty good deal and it filled me up. It was not the best tasting 5 star kind of thing but it did settle good in my stomach and it gave me variety which was good. If you’re looking for good customer service then don’t ever go here! EVER! The only thing the waitress or the chef said to me where«to go?»(No, I was eating there) The place was pretty empty so if you’re like me, killing time before class and are craving some quick sushi, try it out. It’s not terrible.

Randomly walked in on a Sunday night. It was just me and my 11 year old sister in law who was craving sushi but wanted it quick. Sat down, waitress was very nice and got our drinks quickly. Ordered our sushi which was just 3 regular rolls of salmon, tuna, and yellowtail that we only waited about 5 minutes for. She gave us some free miso while we waited which I thought was super sweet. Sushi was pretty good. Regular rolls are just the fish and rice rolled up. No extras, but they did put sesame seeds on there which added to it. Got mango and green tea mochi ice cream and they were both good. Overall after ordering 2 drinks, 3 rolls, and 2 orders of ice cream, it came out to about $ 25. Will definitely come back again.

Domo sushi is an excellent place to grub! I have been comming to Domo for years! The waitresses are very upbeat and friendly. The sushi chef always have a smile and says hello to whomever walks in. Customer service is excellent! The food is delicious! I tend to stick to what I like but I have tried their other sushi meals and they are delicious. Their prices are affordable.

I absolutely love Domo. They are down the street from us and we order out about once a week. The staff is very kind and the food is delicious. Their prices are really good too! Updated review: Their pricing always defers. I’m not sure why but I usually 2 orders of California Roll and it tends to be anywhere from $ 10 to $ 12, every time.

Oh dear, I guess we went in on an off day the second time. Sushi chef was so unwelcoming. I mean, I don’t expect him to do a tap dance, but Hello would be nice. He looked angry and scowling the whole time. My spicy tuna roll was so unappetizing. Tiny, with those stringy white bits throughout, and no, I mean NO flavor whatsoever. No bueno. Companion’s teriyaki beef bowl was not good either. Stick to the udon soups. The waitress — wife?- is very nice.

Second time in, called in my order for an Alaskan Roll(salmon over California roll) while stuck in traffic by Mt Sac. They said 10 min and I arrived in just about 10 min and it was ready! Fresh salmon roll! My order was as rung up and handed to me in a very timely manner. Total was about $ 10.50. I have No complaints about this place! I look forward to coming again! Happy customer! It makes my happy when I find good sushi spots!!!
