Went to Walnut for antique shopping. Heard this place was good. Good chicken and noodles. We had both desserts — triple chocolate cake and the peach cobbler, both with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Couldn’t decide which one was better! Glad we stopped.

Wow, just delicious. I know a local who recommended this place and told me Friday night is prime rib and Saturday is baby back ribs. Ended up making it Saturday while camping at Prairie Rose State Park 8 miles north. Got a full rack for DW and I and couldn’t finish it. Just delicious. The baked beans were really good too. For those who like a buffet, they had a well appointed one with a nice looking salad bar, fried chicken and smoked pork tenderloin. We didn’t partake but it was tempting! To top it off we had peach cobbler ala mode that changed our lives, yum!!! Oh, and the bill was half what it would be in the city. Out of the way place but worth your time. Enjoy!

The most moist broasted chicken… great stop for a home cook meal off the side of the interstate. Waitress said they have great prime on Friday and ribs on Saturday. Plan to try them out next trip through.

OHMYGOODNESS! Y’all have to eat here. We just had the best seasoned, never frozen, beef burger piled high with yummy sweet onion, lettuce, tomato, and dill pickles, love that they use only fresh ingredients and do not salt their fries. GOSEEPATTY! They are a lil sweet spot right next to McDeath/McMakesYouFat. The passenger lot is paved and there’s a small trucker parking lot that is owned and maintained by the Super8 behind the restaurant, which needs to be leveled, but that really doesn’t matter if you drive a rig.

Do not even think about stopping at the McDonald’s next door when Emma Jeans is open. Great place to stop on a road trip. Service is fast and friendly. I had the steak sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Nicely seasoned, very tender, and cooked just exactly like I ordered. It was Sunday and they also had a buffet which many people seemed to be enjoying too.

If you are traveling I-80 through Iowa, do NOT pass this by! At the Walnut, Ia exit, next to a McDonald’s, is this amazing little diner! The service is efficient and friendly, but the food is beyond delicious! Picture eating the best roast beef dinner your grandmother ever made, and this is it! Homemade, tender and absolutely fabulous! And even the half portions are generous!

Very average food experience as well as their service. Small portions. We left the place feeling hungry.

It’s a diner in all its glory with friendly service, clean facilities, and decent food. I had the BLT with homemade chili. Both were great. Next time I’ll get the chili and pour it over some fries :-). The hubby had a French dip. The beef was nice and flavorful(of course I sneaked a bite), but since it was chopped, it was a little hard for him to dip. I don’t think he minded too much though. We both highly recommend stopping here if you’re making the long trek through Iowa. Also it appears to be locally owned and operated. Finally, I always love a place willing to give a to-go cup for coffee.

It is middle of nowhere and we got two choices: Mcdonalds or Emma Jeans. We are glad that we chose this one because the food is really good. I ordered Stand By for breakfast. I really like the sausage and hash brown. The coffee is pretty good too. It is a family restaurant: one is serving and another lady is cooking in the kitchen. Worthy a try on your way!

I was staying at the Super 8 behind this restaurant. I decided to try this local eatery because it was so convenient. I got a plentiful dinner platter for a very affordable price. It was clean and the service was good. Only small issue was my steak was slightly over what I wanted it be cooked but it was still good. I would try again if I was going somewhere in the area. It is very close to I-80.

Great food and clean and modern place. Only complaint was the service is slow and they weren’t busy.

Surprisingly really great testing food! This place is middle of nowhere, all around you is nothing much farm land, and we happen to stop by for some gas and decided to check it out, and what a treat it was.
