Came here for lunch on Father’s Day because my dad wanted to try this place. The restaurant is in a pretty desolate area so there was ample parking. Venue: Open concept with huge windows so there was a lot of natural lighting. When you first walk in, behind the hostess, you’ll see a bunch of white bars that encloses a couple tables. I think they added this in case they have private/huge parties– I get it, but think it looks funny. Food: Your typical taiwanese/chinese café food. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad either. We also ordered the mango and strawberry shaved snow. The portion was huge and it fed my family of 6. However, they added a little too much condense milk which made it extra sweet. Customer Service: Very attentive and was able to provide recommendations to everyone. This place would be a good place to study. However, it wouldn’t be my first choice to go to fulfill my hunger.

Just came here for a nice breakfast, willing to try a new place. The open sign was on but the patio was roped off so we were a bit confused. An employee came up to start his shift and when we asked him if they were open, he mumbled something incoherent and walked inside, barely acknowledging us. We left and won’t be coming back. First impressions are important!

Food is decent and as expected for most Taiwanese cafes. Portion sizes for drinks and food are huge though. We had popcorn chicken, beef noodle soup, and taiwanese sausage & some sort of pork roll. For drinks and desserts, we had the Tropic Thunder, hazelnut milk tea, and shaved snow with red bean, mochi, & condensed milk. The beef noodle soup was late because of some issue with the noodles, but the waiters gave excellent service and gave us a free drink coupon for the wait. The waiters were very quick to refill water, take away empty dishes, and give us our check. All in all a great experience!

I am impressed by the menu at MJ… how do they keep up with everything they have listed??? Their selection of drinks and desserts is huge! I love it, but it’s also overwhelming. Overall, this is a solid place, and I enjoy it! It’s deserving of 3.5 stars, not 3.

Ive been here countless times and its either a hit or miss. I ordered pickup today and the food came soggy and gross on the bottom as u can see from the pictures. Was very disappointed by their minced pork noodle($ 7).

Extremely disappointing visit tonight. 1. Food came out before drinks even though we had ordered drinks before ordering food. 2. When drinks came, my Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea with pudding and boba didn’t have milk in it, so I told a server and she brought it back. 3. When it came back, it tasted like straight creamer with boba and pudding. Yum. I had my boyfriend taste test to make sure I wasn’t crazy. He thought the same. So I asked another server if it was possible to just add some tea in it because I couldn’t taste the tea.(Note: Osmanthus oolong milk tea is my favorite drink and I order it all the time) 4. This time, the barista thought she’d make a guest appearance in the drink fiasco. She proceeds to tell me that milk teas have milk in them, and if I don’t like the taste of milk, I should just order a tea without milk. Thanks, it really takes a genius to figure that out. I felt humiliated. 5. She told me to let her know if I don’t like it. I think even if it were the best Osmanthus oolong milk tea ever made, I still wouldn’t have liked it at this point. I was pretty upset over her demeaning lesson about milk in my tea. 6. Then I noticed that the chicken in my Katsu chicken was undercooked. Boyfriend tells server and server doesn’t apologize. He does ask if we want it cooked more but I didn’t want to risk the cook coming out with burnt chicken and telling me that if I didn’t want a cooked chicken, I should’ve ordered vegetables instead. I think if only one or two of these happened during my visit, I wouldn’t have been so upset, but it felt like something was wrong with every portion of my meal.

Love coming here for the fresh fruit tea and waffles. I usually get the mango green/back tea. They put real mangos in it. And I love the waffles that has the mochi texture.

This place gives me mixed feelings. First off the mochi waffles are bomb and the presentation of the it always gets its flash photography. and the drinks are delicious and can go to a XL size which is enough for you and your sweetie But the food is good but nothing special about it. I respect the food but for a brother that is not Asian, I get kinda iffy with some of the sides. Service is OK, some days are great and other days you feel like you’re bugging the waitresses and waiters too much. AND I LIKEMYWATERCOLDPLEASE!

Cutest place ever. I can’t wait to continue going so I can explore the menu! Their drinks are amazing, you just kinda wanna stare at them and not drink them. Until you realize it’s melting AND you’ve sunk the whole place with your watery mouth! The service is great, everyone is so friendly, it almost feels homey. Like as if you’ve gone every Wednesday at 8 o’clock for the past 3 years. Anyway, the drinks didn’t just look good they were delish, as well as there chicken wings(very very spicy), noodles, and fried rice. Over all it was a great experience, definitely coming back and took some ice cream macaroon sandwich things home for another snack tomorrow!

Place has gone down the hill a lot. Here on a Sunday night around 9 and half the fucking menu is not there. No hot pot, no beef stew rice, no fucking syrup for the drinks? No black pepper sauce or noodles for the sizzling plate. If the girlfriend didn’t already order, would of left. Should of known better to gone with the selected steak. Meat was harder than an erection on viagra, and half of it was inedible. The soup came out fucking cold, went to microwave it and it’s still miraculously cold. Beef tongue rice was alright, only positive thing sadly. Probably staying away for a while after this experience.

I like this location much more than the one on Colima, it’s a lot less crowded. My go to order for food is the spicy sweet chili chicken. It’s served with rice and the veggies they have for that day. Is just some crispy chicken covered in sauce, but I always get the sauce on the side. My go to drink here is mango green tea with real mangos! Never disappoints. Service is pretty good here as well, I feel like the one on Colima is a lot slower in service and in serving food.

Love MJ Café! Highly highly highly recommend the matcha Mochi waffles… sounds strange, but they are so delicious! Also love to get the fried rice and hot braised food bowls. Excellent flavor on everything. I’ve come here numerous times and have not been disappointed! Highly recommend. Only drawback is that it has a ‘B’ rating which makes me uneasy…

They have one of my comfort food which is fish cake and I love their menu though sometimes there are too many to choose from. I love their winter melon milk tea, their papaya milk, avocado milk and rose milk tea. I’m sure I can find other things to order here since I just love milk teas and they have so many variations. The missing star is for the fish cake I ordered that I specifically ask to be mildly spicy but the person either forgot or was just chili powder happy.

Good ol’ comfort food and drinks with a side of slow service. MJ is a great place for food and drink, but this location in particular seems to have slower service despite being larger and nicer than other MJs I’ve been to. As mentioned, get your fix of comfort food here. Everything is sort of cheap unless you go for the sizzling plates(which I recommend trying at one point in your life). Rice or noodles, you can’t go wrong. Drinks can be hit or miss though; so know what you want and be wary that you don’t panic order on some strange drink with no flavor or texture(I totally didn’t do that). Also as mentioned, even though this MJ is larger, so is the business; you’ll find that it’s crowded so you can expect a wait(even when it’s not crowded, it’s still a wait). I don’t know what it is with the waiters but they seem disinterested and thus are a little more sluggish when they go about their business. Regardless, MJ is an acceptable experience if you don’t mind setting aside 1 – 2 hours here.

I decided to update my review since I haven’t been here in so long! I moved to West Covina and it’s been a little harder to come this way but I must say I am forever in love with this location. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for about a year now and we always have excellent customer service! There is one server I have forgotten her name but she knows my boyfriend and I by name. Moving from Alabama this was my first little go at some good Asian cuisine and after trying many other places I always fall back here because I love the ambience and the food is delicious My goto drink is the Brown sugar milk tea with boba, xtra large please! My go to dishes is either the Hotpot or their Japanese Seafood Udon noodle which I must say are the bombdotcom.(Yes I said it) I have tried other dishes as well but these are my favorite! Oh yeah let’s not forget the brick toast! Yasss! Melt in your mouth good! Keep up the good work guys! Your service is much appreciated:)

I adore this location! The staff is very helpful and kind! It also doesn’t get as packed as the Rowland Height location! I always come here to work or have a group dinner! My top go-to is their fresh green tea mango with half sugar or their Oreo Mochi waffle… I’m seriously salivating right now. Also if things aren’t to your likings they are more than happy to exchange it! Beware their mince pork dishes is not ground pork. It’s a combination of pork belly fat and pork meat stewed. So if you have high cholesterol I’d suggest you steer clear. Also their beef is really chewy for some reason. I’ve had it two ways. Once with the braised combo and once with the hotspot. Parking is a breeze and it’s very clean! I’ll be back for the Mochi waffle! *Drools*

Cute little shop! I’ve been seeing pretty foodie creations all over Instagram and this place lived up to their hype. I came here with my friend just to catch up and fulfill our sweet tooth cravings. I can’t remember the exact name but it was like Oreo blast or something like that. Mochi waffles with vanilla ice cream. The waffles were chewy on the inside and crunchy on the outside and adding the vanilla ice cream and drizzles of chocolate syrup only made it better. And Of course they decorated our plate for the season, Instagram worthy. The store was bright, cute, and clean. Lots of tables. It’s the perfect place to catch up and hangout with friends. The only complaint I had was service was a little slow. I’ll definitely be back to see what new cute little designs they have for me next time! **10% off with Unilocal check in or with student id **

I always come here to catch up with friends and eat their amazing mochi-filled waffles! I always enjoy seeing how the servers decorate our plate of waffles and ice cream. Normally I would order their Matcha Waffles, because it seriously is matcha madness with matcha everything. Definitely try the other flavors as well, they’re all REALLYGOOD! ** If you’re ordering this, order it right away! Takes at least 15 minutes usually. My second go-to is their caramel milk drink with pudding and boba! A bit on the sweeter side, but still yummy. If you’re planning on sharing, try getting the XL size. It’s the size of my face! Their service is a hit or a miss. Sometimes they’re forgetful, like bringing us just the plates without utensils when our food arrived. Yes, I will be eating with my fingers.

Wide selection of Food and Drinks! This location is very close to home and grabbing a bite or drink doesn’t require a lot of heavy traffic. Space is great for large group gathering and there is outdoor seating. Place is well-lite and clean. The wide range of food and drink choices cause me to be indecisive when ordering. I love their fresh juice drinks and when i feel like tea, my favorite drink is the oolong tea float(yes ice cream tea float– and it’s yummy). They have wonderful choice of sandwiches, rice dishes, sizzling plate foodies, and desserts. One of my favorite dessert is the thick toast marshmallow. Must try! A great place to study and do homework. Don’t forget to check in to get discounts on drinks! Would definitely come back. Recommended: tea, juice, dessert, large group, hangout, study.

Although the service attendant was very helpful and patient on explaining each and every questions and concerns we may have. I still can’t give them a 4 star for their VERYVERYVERY sluggish service. My parents got their order of sandwich after the kids were done with their Fried Rice and Noodle dish. The Dessert, took literally 30 minutes to get to us and their excuse was that it takes time to heat up? Than another 5 minutes for the utensils for the desserts! If things came out at a more timely matter i think it would of gotten a full 4 stars from me.
