I normally hate traditional food truck slop. However, the kobe beef burger was so incredible it belonged in a 5 star restaurant. Pricy at about 12⁄13 bucks, but it was good sized and high quality.

When I saw that there were sweet potato tater tots on their menu I knew I had to get them. I LOVE sweet potatoes. The tots were softer than typical tater tots made our of potatoes but I think it’s because sweet potatoes fry differently. The chipotle maple sauce was good but they put a little too much. Towards the bottom of my tray many tots were soggy from soaking in the sauce. But overall they were very tasty and great for sharing with others!

Loved my tempura-battered avocado tacos! So good. Spring rolls weren’t so good. I think they were a bulk frozen product, wish I’d gotten the manchego fries!

Coming from the Bay Area, I was excited to try some new food trucks. This truck was parked outside our hotel in Anaheim so I rounded up the family to try. I walked up to the truck at 11 and two people just looked at me while they filled containers inside. I only stayed and waited since my kids wanted burgers. After several minutes, a guy took my order with a long face. Two regular burgers and one order of fries for 37 dollars? The food came up in about 10 minutes so it must of been fresh. I asked for ketchup for my fries and it was like I asked for something crazy. A lady gave me ketchup but I obviously bothered her. Overall burgers were juicy, but the customer service was horrible. I think they may have partied too hard last night and 37 dollars not worth it. I will never be back after this experience On a side note, the other trucks that were parked with them were all very friendly since we ordered a variety from each truck… A little advice– a little customer service goes a long way.

One of my favorite food trucks in the LA area, bar none. The quality of their menu is top notch. The owner, Tony, comes from fine dining, and you can really tell from the care that goes into making their items. Honestly, it’s one of the few savory trucks in the business that actually deserve your money. A lot of thought and hard work goes into their items. Their staff is awesome as well, and willing to answer any questions you may have. I highly recommend the Lamb Al Pastor sliders, Manchego Fries, and Kobe Beef Sliders. I believe they also have a steak sandwich once in awhile as a special — it is a must buy whenever it’s available. And don’t forget their housemade limeades! Start a restaurant already, guys! ;)

The Slummin Gourmet truck represents what a great food truck should be! There have been tons of food trucks taking over cities across the countries, and many are mediocre or hit or miss. They don’t offer great food and just a long wait! The Slummin Gourmet shows you that great gourmet food can be had at a low price. I was in the San Pedro Art Walk this evening and came across this truck In the street by the major Art Galleries. I ordered the Kobe beef sliders with spicy sriracha aioli sauce and crisp greens. The sliders were out of this world heavenly! They were the perfect balance of char broiled, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The sauce complimented the char burger and the bun was warm, but not overly hot. It was just right so you could sink your teeth into the grilled onion and seasoned Kobe sliders and not get burned by a hot bun, and feel the tangy sauce in every bite! Seriously, these are some of the best sliders I have ever had in my life! The Maple and Chive Sweet Potato Tater Tots– WOW! Just like the name describes it, tater tots made from sweet potatoes and drenched in a maple bbq sauce that is both sweet and robust at the same time. it is sprinkled with freshly cut chives and some form of seasoned salt. They have bottled water and sodas, and they also take credit cards. It was very convenient since I was short on cash but still was able to pay with my credit card. I ended up paying about 17 bucks for this meal with a drink, but it was damn good ! There are many food trucks in the San Pedro Art walk, but this is one definitely worth checking out!

Had a chance to get dinner from this truck last Friday at the Filippi Winery. All the menu items sounded great. It was difficult to choose, but I ultimately decided to eat healthy and not so healthy. My healthy choice was the salmon tacos – delicious! And my unhealthy choice was the garlic manchengo cheese curly fries – worth it! Servers were nice, they even brought the food to our tables. Hope to catch up with this truck again soon to try out some of the other items.

Amazing food! Tried pretty much one of everything tonight at Filippi Winery. The Flat Iron Steak sandwich was tasty and incredibility tender. The Shrimp are served on a lettuce wrap and are so fresh and crispy. This is our favorite Gourmet Food Truck!

Just the best tasting and truly gourmet quality ever. Get the shrimp tacos. Or get the salmon. You’ll be pleasantly surprised and swear you walked up to a high end restaurant.

Hm, the pictures on here and food other customers got looks so good. I am definitely willing to try another item from them, but our salmon tacos didn’t taste fresh. They were also more of a thai curry flavor which I didn’t expect. The salmon tacos weren’t for me. I think we ordered the wrong item, now that I see these pictures and hear about the infamous lobster corndog. I just can’t justify fishy salmon. yuck.

I tried out this truck on the first day of wondercon and i was thoroughly impressed! My mom, friend, and i sampled a bunch of things and they all were super tasty! The pulled pork sliders were amazing, they were sweet and savory! They had a really good sauce and the meat was super tender! I thing they were some of the best food i had eaten at the con! The kobe sliders were also to die for! Im picky about meat, but these were really good! I liked the arugula and caramelized onions. I think a fried egg on top would have been the but alas there were none. The meatball sandwich had really nice flavor and was really good! The cheese wasnt super melty but it was still good! The garlic manchego curly fries were good! My mom liked those a lot and i thought they were pretty good too! My favorite side we ordered were the MAPLECHIPOTLESWEETPOTATOTOTS. oh dear god those things were amazing. My friend and i devoured those things they were absolutely amazing. They were sweet and spicy. The sweet potato paired so well with the sauce. I feel like i could eat those forever they were that good. In the end i would highly recommend this truck to anyone! It was amazing! I hope they plan on coming to wondercon 2016 in los angeles!

They describe themselves as a gourmet restaurant on wheels. I would have to agree. I have tried a couple different things, and was always satisfied. My favorite would have to be the lobster corn dog. You get one big fat lobster tail with cornbread batter and fried into a corn dog. Yes it’s as good as it sounds. I have also tried a greek lamb slider, walnut shrimp lettuce tacos, garlic manchego fries, and chicken wings. They were all really good but oh god all I can think about is the lobster corn dog. if it’s on the menu that day definitely get it. I wish the garlic fries had more garlic though. They also have a blueberry mint limenade that’s really good as well. The prices are on par with a gastropub. It’s pricy for food truck food, but the quality and taste is worth it.

You have been warned — this review may be hard for me to justify. I have been wanting to try this truck since I first stumbled upon them. Lobster corn, I must try! Today I finally got my chance to try the truck. Sadly they did not have my corn dog I have been longing to try so I had to settle for other items on the menu. I settled for their kobe beef oishi hot dog and made it a combo with a soda and their garlic manchego fries. Total it came to a little over $ 17, a little pricey in my opinion, but I was at the convention center and I’ve noticed trucks seem to raise their prices. Now for the confusing part of the review. I was not a fan of the hot dog. It was an amazing hot dog, in terms of the meat. Good flavor and awesome snap. My issue was in the toppings, something just did not taste right. I’m not sure if it was the nori or the wasabi mayo, but it wasn’t a great experience. Not so bad I couldn’t finish, but I wouldn’t order again. Even though I did not like it, it was clear they know what they are doing and are putting out quality food. I can’t wait to try something else. The fries on the other hand were perfect. Nothing to complain about. Perfect amount of spice and garlic. Crunchy and hot… mmmmm.

So good at the convention yesterday that we will be hunting down The Slummin’ Gourmet again today to get our fix. I’d like to say that I need to try something else on the menu but I may find that the craving for that Italian Meatball sandwich is too powerful to pass it up. And the Chipotle Sweet Potato Tots? Wow. Awesome flavor. Hope to see them again today. So much to taste, such little time.

These guys were parked outside the Anaheim convention center. I had the grilled salmon tacos for lunch. They were delicious! But, the real star of the meal was the chipotle maple sweet potato tots. Those were really great. Don’t leave this truck without those. And for dessert I shared a caramel filed churro. That was good, fried, covered in sugar… How could that be bad? The only gripe I have is the prices were definitely a bit steep. For the tacos, the churro, and a can of pop it was over $ 20. In my opinion that’s a lot for a food truck meal. But I do realize that we, the convention goers, are kind of a captive audience and many of us are having work pay for our meals… They probably know this and can charge whatever they want. I will most likely try something else on their menu for lunch tomorrow.

I cannot say enough how much my husband and I LOVE this truck, so much that we had them cater our wedding! We first tried them over a year ago at a random food truck event. We were first drawn in by their tagline«fancy without the schmancy» We went around to other trucks but ultimately kept coming back to this one! We tried the kobe beef sliders, brie and steak quesadilla, garlic fries, and maple glazed sweet potato tater tots. We loved them all. Those tots are deadly, you just keep popping them in like popcorn! From there, we would scope them out wherever they were. Even the desserts are amazing… try the custard churro(I just don’t understand how it can be so crispy and delicious but not greasy?!) and bread pudding!(I don’t even like bread pudding but I love theirs) The flavor profiles, presentation, unique combinations, and quality ingredients are something I would not think to find in a food truck and what always bring us back. It was the most amazing experience for us and our guests and best wedding decision we made. If it was one thing we wanted our guest to remember from our wedding was the good food! On the menu was the walnut shrimp tacos(GIANT shrimp in a beautiful lettuce cup), polynesian pulled pork slider, kobe beef slider, mango and chicken quesadilla, curly fries and of course, the sweet potato tots. Our wedding was over a month ago, and we still have people telling us how amazing the food was. To sum it up, TRYTHISTRUCK! you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is amazing and the food is definitely«fancy with the schmancy»

This place takes sliders and tacos to a whole new level. I still can’t believe they can create such delicious and beautiful dishes out of a truck. Sorcery. Pure sorcery. It is on the pricier side, but that’s because they use top notch ingredients and most of them have quite a lot of layers. Well worth the cost in my opinion. Scallop Sliders: +Huge jumbo scallops that are seared properly with that fragrant crust. +Accompaniments don’t overpower that delicate sweetness of the scallops. Al Pastor Slider?(Lamb sliders): +Juicy, sooooo juicy. +That avocado mash really brightens up the slider as well. +Then there’s the sauce. I could eat anything with that sauce, so delicious. Fritto Misto: +Lightly battered, and fried golden brown seafood. +Properly drained of excess oil. +Super fresh seafood. Walnut Shrimp Tacos: I rather like this dish, it is like peking duck lettuce cups, but with honey walnut shrimp instead. +Very refreshing +Fried rice noodles add a nice crunch while being flavor neutral. +Butter lettuce, the best kind of lettuce. Garlic Manchego Curly Fries: The only time you are reminded you aren’t in a fancy restaurant is when you chow down on this. Flavor packed fries that pairs perfectly with a nice cold soda. Thoroughly impressed with The Slummin’ Gourmet, I will be back.

Wow. That Al Pastor lamb slider… I literally repeated«omg this is amazing» or «omg I love lamb» after each bite until my friend told me he got the point. Hehe. SOGOOD! Let me describe this heavenly slider: it’s a juicy perfectly spiced lamb patty topped with spicy pickled onions, a super TENDER slice of grilled pineapple, and a fat dollop of creamy guacamole and sandwiched between soft little buns. Perfection. The spicy onions(usually found at taco stands) added a nice kick that was perfectly balanced by the guacamole and the sweet and tangy pineapple gave the slider much more depth. The first slider I had was so delicious that I found myself ordering another one even after eating half a TJ’s woodfire pizza(also delicious) that very same hour. However, my second slider was disappointingly not as juicy as my first one so I’m not sure if they are very consistent, since my friend said both the sliders(that we ordered at different times) he ate were dry. We also ordered the manchego garlic curly fries which I will most likely skip next time. I personally thought there wasn’t much flavor and that the fries were kind of dry. But maybe I was already too full at that point? Anyways, I definitely recommend you to try that Al Pastor lamb slider, and hopefully yours is as juicy as my first one was!(And don’t get mad at me if it isn’t! :D)

I for one loved the Slummin’ Gourmet truck. My friend and I visited the food truck meet in Cypress, Ca last night(2÷18÷2014) and came across a non-burger truck… the Slummin’ G. The menu looked a little extravagant but after seeing the Walnut Shrimp Tacos(I love Walnut Shrimp from the sit down Cantonese/Chinese restaurants) I knew it had to be in my belly! One look at the two Walnut Shrimp tacos wrapped in butter lettuce(not tortillas) I fell in love immediately. After my first bit, I was again head over heels! Loved it, loved the slices of melon and the sweet walnut and shrimps! Another food truck to check off my list! Keep up the good work you 3 working the truck!

Found them at the Tuesday Night round up at the Home Depot in Cypress. First got the garlic manchego curly fries. They were great and tided me over until I could figure out what else to get amongst the other trucks. Ended my dining adventures with their incredible crispy walnut banana bread pudding. It came with a side of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and mint. That, by itself, was worth it. I will be searching them out again.
