Quest Cleaners

Don’t go to this place unless you want to repeatedly have your instructions ignored. I asked for my shirts on hangers, but they repeatedly come back in more expensive boxes. I have talked to the owners twice. Still boxes. They promised to redo and have them back the same day. I did not see them for a week. Frequently do not deliver on time. Save yourself a headache and stay far away from this place. Worst dry cleaning experience I have ever had.

My husband just sent out the suit and pants that he wore at our wedding to get dry cleaned. He just got his drycleaning back today and only got the suit back. The pants were not there. As you can imagine, he is livid. This was a custom-​made, very very expensive suit and the pants are now gone. I tried calling the phone number on Quest’s website but no one answered. I will try calling again tomorrow. If they find the pants asap, I will add the updated info to this review. But if not, please do yourself a favor and do not use this service. It is convenient that they pick up and drop off for you, but losing the most important piece of clothing that you own is not worth it.
Update: It’s now been over a week. I spoke with a fairly nice guy there and he seemed genuinely sorry that the pants had been lost, but again, did nothing to fix the situation. He said he looked everywhere for them but could not find them. He kept asking me to double check to make sure I didn’t forget to put them in the bag to be sent out for drycleaning. This felt insulting to me. Of course I checked and tore apart my whole apartment looking for the pants! I’m not dumb and this sounds like they are blaming the customer for their mistake. How would I possibly forget to put a piece of clothing in the bag? Also, my apartment is about 600 sq ft. It’s not like something can really get lost here.
He also said that the manager would call me back. I have yet to hear from the manager. I tried calling again today, no answer. I would much prefer that they find the pants for the sentimental value (this was the suit that my husband married me in), but at this point, I would settle for at least an offer to pay to get them replaced. I will update again if I finally get ahold of the manager.

Service not completed on the day it said it would be. I think it’s over priced and the buttons on my top were melted to the shirt material. Awful. I’ll never go back and risk my clothese being ruined. I haven’t even looked at my other articles that were cleaned here yet. I’m afraid as to what I may find.

I left a black suit to be sent out and cleaned (through Kirkland Cleaners whom the company contracts for their dry cleaning)…this was on a Saturday (due back on Tuesday), not a problem in the world with this as I have done that before. My suit was lost. It took another three some odd weeks to get something back (this is after being told I would receive a call from the company manager, which never came). I got a suit back, and as soon as I saw it knew there was something wrong… it did not look like the suit I gave to this place nearly a month ago, but I am a happy-​go-​lucky man content to have his suit back. Needless to say the suit was not mine, and too small (I am a 42 and the suit I eventually learned was a 41). I have been in conversations with the company owner regarding this issue, and let me say it has not been a pleasurable experience. I have been accused of tampering with the suit tags for my benefit (where they found the sizing information was in the jacket), and for being a dishonest person. There have been a number of promises made to rectify this situation (monetary being one), but the latest being the one I would like to share with Unilocalers… I was asked to meet with the owners seamstress to have the suit jacket taken out, and to receive a credit with the company. I don’t feel this is suitable compensation, as I would never wear this suit that has caused distress, nor knowingly use a business that called me a liar to my face (well over the phone). I honestly have to thank the lord above the suit in question was not the more expensive ones in my collection.

Unlike the previous review, I am referencing their walk in service. Ridiculous location, behind an office building on a weird street in the weirdest part of Waltham, which is weird to begin with.
Competitively priced (1.50 or so per laundered and starched shirt) and they do a great job, without pressing out the collar so you look like Huggy Bear, which is what most other cleaners do. Great spot treatment where needed.
4 days wait time, but you could pay extra for rush service. I may try to have them pick up next time, but they did a great job for me.

This review has been a long time coming, but I gave this place three strikes before declaring how horrible they are with their office pick-​up and delivery service. Don’t get me wrong — if you’re looking to just drop your clothes off and have them cleaned and then go and pick them up again they might work out for you. But don’t expect them to outshine any other office dry-​cleaning service.
Why not?
For starters, in order to wash the clothing the driver needs to make sure that they come on every scheduled day. Our office failed to send something out for only one week and the driver decided to skip us on his route the next week. For a company that promised to come every Tuesday and Thursday — regardless of the volume of things going out, this is unacceptable.
Assuming that they picked it up, it usually helps if they bring you your clothing back. A co-​worker decided to use their wash and fold laundering service and only got half of his clothing back on two separate occasions. Both times, we placed a call to the cleaners and they scrambled to find the remainder of his clothing. Another co-​worker didn’t have anything dropped off at all and when we called they swore they didn’t have it — only to drop it off on our next scheduled pick-​up day without an apology.
Now, it seems that they can’t get the billing aspect of their operation right either. Being the office manager I had only had to deal with these issues by way of having to solve them for my colleagues — until two weeks ago when I was mysteriously billed for dry-​cleaning that I didn’t send out. They claim it was because a co-​worker sent their laundry out using the bag with my name on it… a bag that has not left the office since the day they signed us up for the program. They than ask me to find out whose laundry it was that they charged me for but promised a credit by end of day. That day was a week ago. It took 2 more phone calls for them to promise me the credit by end of day today.
In summary: Quest may be good for their walk in service as they seem to be able to clean and press things well. But if you were considering them for their door-​to-​door service, you might want to save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.
