After some trouble of trying to get into contact, I finally received a call and was able to view and finally get an apartment for a good price, half broker fee, and in a nice area.

Wow talk about the most unresponsive company ever, I dont know why any landlord would ever list a rental property through these people, they NEVER answer or return phone calls, never answer emails — even just to say sorry already rented. I’ve called for weeks to try and look at an apartment they have listed with no response ever — stay away, especially if you’re thinking about listing through them… yeah you want me to give you a half fee when you suck? dont think so…

This guy rented me an apartment. I had a friend stay over a few nights. This guy calls me up swearing at me threatening to evict me on behalf on the landlord. I have never had to deal with anything like this before. When he called me I was literally speechless. He reported that back to the landlord as me being unable to explain this «terrible» problem I had caused. The landlord and the owner of Vanguard are irrationally angry over nothing. If you like dealing with crazy people who control who can stay overnight in your apartment this is the company for you. According to them this is part of Vanguard’s renters agreement.
Update:
This guy eventually evicted me because I had my friend over. The landlord told me that they had another tenant who had a girlfriend that he eventually married who was totally complacent with their «no friends» policy. Another girl that lived there while I did moved out. She told me the landlord yelled at her for breaking the air conditioner until she cried. The landlord eventually backed into my car and did serious damage, destroying the whole front bumper. I didn’t peruse anything because I couldn’t prove it was him, but it happened in his parking lot when no other tenants were in the building.
If you like dealing with crazy people, go with this company, and rent the apartments on Bacon Street in Waltham.

They listed an appartment on craigslist and I emailed them to asked questions about it. Back and forth emails that got NOWHERE.
I then emailed again because I had general questions about the appartment and I never got an email back.
I was dealing with Sue. BAD customer service and I much rather not be renting from them.

i rented an apartment from Sue at Vanguard in May of 2010. She was helpful, pleasant and made it a great rental experience. Even though someone else put in an application for the apartment i wanted, she called me a few days later to say they didn’t get approved and ask if i wanted to see it again. She went out of her way to help make the application go through — as a grad student, my credit report didn’t look so hot. And let me in to the apartment again before my lease started just so i could take measurements!

I saw an apartment listing of theirs on craigslist and emailed a series of questions to help determine whether or not I would like to view the property. They emailed me back two days later not answering any of my questions but instead questioning who I was. I answered back and have yet to hear from them. Bad customer service not even answering a single question. Very disappointing.
