It is now closed, but I will miss it much. It was my go to place for fixings for a quick healthy cost effective meal without any coupons or sales. It saved me from going the the very crowded highly priced local supermarkets

I am very disappointed to hear of the closing… I loved the selection of fresh produce and the convenience of not having to go to a supermarket.

The produce is usually very bad here. Like it has been sitting around for a long time. Celery usually looks yellow and old. We got apples that when cut open, were all brown throughout the whole fruit! I tried to cut around them but they tasted terrible, too. Eggplants are usually tough and have many seeds, and taste bitter. Their basil is strange. If you buy a package, it is full of dirt, and some leaves taste good while others taste bad – in the same package. When we buy basil at other stores, each pack has the same flavor not different. It’s also never that dirty, and tastes a lot better like basil should. I wouldn’t recommend going here unless they are the only store that has what you want.

Excellent place to get fresh produce and fruits. Very reasonable prices and a wide selection of items. Their melons are very fresh and sweet.

A lot of sketchy looking people work at the Golden Mango. They have bad produce, I wouldn’t tempt buying their meats and fish there if the produce is bad. I would go else to find good produce, fish, and meat.

if you cook your own asian cuisine, this is your best bet to get grocery in the hudson area. I use to drive 2 hrs to hartsdale to shop at H Mart and although the golden mango doesn’t carry everything I need, it’s big enough that I probably won’t be going to hartsdale as often. so glad this place is here and produce is cheap!

It’s less than 2 months since my original review, and this Golden Mango is starting to line up with the comments others have made about other Golden Mango’s — and that’s not necessarily good, especially if you want to shop here for produce. It’s still a great place to shop for Asian specialty items you can’t get elsewhere, but I’d stick to packaged goods, frozen goods, and less-perishable produce such as root vegetables. My previous visits had been on weekdays, and they were more likely closer to the days of the week when significant amounts of new produce came in. My most recent visit was on a Saturday, and it was evident a lot of the more perishable produce is simply kept out, at lower and lower prices, until it is either gone or totally unsellable. Green produce — things like zucchini, broccoli, some greens, limes, etc., were more like yellows, and non-green produce was on its way to green. There were several types of produce selling in 2 areas — today it was eggplant and red peppers — where the older produce was significantly cheaper and poorer in quality. As for the red peppers, I went for one of the«fresher» ones, and when I got it home and cut it open, every single well in the bottom was filled with green mold, and I could use very little of the pepper. I think people have caught on to this as well. There were relatively few people shopping for produce on a Saturday morning, which should have been busy. Compare that to Adams in Poughkeepsie(where I next visited) and it was practically standing room only. People will pay a bit more for quality produce they can trust. Golden Mango will still be part of my grocery shopping routine, but only for select items I can’t conveniently get elsewhere. I need to find out when their produce comes in. Pick your shopping dates — and your produce — carefully.
