We love this place! Everything is fresh and the«all you can eat» special is fantastic! Restaurant is clean and service is good. We can’t say enough about this place.

I’ve been to kodomo 3 or 4 times and they’re just getting better– the food is fresh, the presentation is point on and the atmosphere is inviting. Don’t leave without trying one of their awesome salads!

I’ve eaten here a couple of times and gotten the all-you-can-eat buffet. I really enjoyed everything, from the special sushi rolls to the beef drunken noodles. They have plenty of selections to keep you trying something new each time you return. Nice ambiance and the service was good. Probably my favorite sushi place in the area at this point.

We ate here a few weeks ago for the second time and I have to disagree with any negative posts here. This place not only offers all you can eat sushi but sashimi as well! I recommend that everyone order all you can eat if you want to share, as even if you order off the regular menu you will pay almost as much as the $ 22.00. I had gone to some other All you can eat sushi places in the city and they are priced at $ 28-$ 45 with the same rules about sharing and eating all you order. The presentation is great and tasted delicious. Will go many more times.

My first visit and I’m quite impressed. The motif is eclectic but friendly. Not at any time did I feel like an outsider. I had the buffet dinner and the choice of sushi was extensive. I had miso soup and edamame as part of my order and it was not salty at all compared with some of the other places I’ve been to. The sushi came in at the right time just when I was just finishing my miso soup. The dragon roll is a little cold but the taste is quite flavorful. The taste definitely reminds me of the dragon rolls from home in California. Overall the food was flavorful, eye catching, and mouth watering. I would recommend this place for a good location to have your sushi cravings satisfied.

Fantastic sushi at a super lunch special price. $ 8 got me two high-quality rolls plus a great salad and delicious miso soup. Pleasant atmosphere, and they’re entirely wheelchair accessible, too! Will definitely be back!

Great Asian food! I love the hibachi lunch special and their sushi. The service can be a little spotty sometimes but the food is worth it. Yum-o!

Food is okay. My husband, my daughter and I had lunch here. My husband ordered the All-you-can eat buffet which is $ 22, I ordered my own plate which was $ 18, and so did my daughter. My husband got a plate full of edamame and my daughter and I tried a couple of them. The waitress came to us to scold us. I can understand if We hadn’t ordered anything else and we had tried to eat all from one buffet, having been scolded. However, they should have common sense when a family that each member ordered a plate of almost the same value, can test each other’s food like any family would do. Never again will come to this restaurant. You can keep you edamame and buffet to yourselves.

Well where to start… On a semi busy night the water will be served in styrofoam cup’s surprisingly enough without a to go top. The multiple awkward waitresses will all ask for your order at different times even though the order was placed once already. Instead of all of the entrée orders for a party of four coming out at once they will come out with the speed of the seasons. As you progress with your meal«obviously» not being finished they will ask,” are you done, would you like a to go box?” And when asking to speak to the manager you will be directed to the«senior» sushi chef… I am not accustom to Japanese cuisine ettiquite so this maybe the way it works when asking if they know anything about the short black hair that was found in our hibachi noodles.

Food was delicious! We ordered from the $ 21 all you can eat menu and there wasn’t a bad plate. Service was horrible. They took forever to take our order and then needed to be reminded of some food they’d forgotten. A server had to be flagged down any time we needed something. Overall, service was very slow and disorganized.

Don’t let the strip mall exterior fool you, this Asian bistro is gorgeous. The décor is all dark stone, with large woven lamps, and sleek surfaces. We did the all you can eat menu, at $ 22.00 it’s a steal. The wonton and tom yum soup were great though my favorites were the vegetable spring rolls and the house salad. I’m picky about my finger dressing, this was blended to s month consistency and had a really bright pop of acidity. Delicious. The sushi we did primarily special rolls. They were all beyond delicious and exquisitely presented. My favorite had this slices of kiwi on top for a really fresh and lightly sweet hit of flavor. The staff was wonderfully efficient circling several times to refill water and were very quick with the check. I think I found my new sushi joint!

Lunch, very fine bento box. Lots of good food in the $ 10 range. Salmon teriyaki was superb, Thai red curry was good, they substituted tofu for the meat on request. Miso soup was large and with good insides, the baked tofu side is A-1, edame was real good, and more, and down a winner. The décor is ok, some cute twists, more importantly, the place looks and feels immaculately clean. Sometimes in Dutchess the restaurants have been musty smell, this one is a pleasure to sit and relax. They have thin soba noodles in a couple of dishes. That’s all we ate, so I can’t comment more. Service fine.

After moving to this area from Staten Island nearly 2 years ago, we have been in a constant search for our«favorite» restaurant of each type of food. Sushi was a bit of a struggle at first, my wife is a vegetarian, and I am not. Having gone to a few locations that did not offer any veggie options, we were left disappointed. While Kodomo only has a few veggie rolls, its enough to satisfy my wife. Overall I have been very satisfied each time I go here, so much so that it has become our«go to» location for sushi and have brought friends and family here. They recently introduced a «all you can eat menu,» and I admit that I have taken advantage of that for sure. The rolls are fresh, as is the sushimi. I’ve never had anything that did not taste right(and I’ve been to quite a few sushi locations that have left me questioning their quality). The décor is pleasant and comfortable. The staff is very friendly, however when they are busy they appear quite overwhelmed and service tends to slow down a bit(this wouldn’t hold well in NYC, but upstate is more acceptable). If you’re looking for a place in the area for good sushi, I definitely recommend Kodomo. They have other Chinese, Japanese, and Thai meals for those that just can’t bring themselves to try sushi!

I was really excited about Kodomo — relatively new to the area from NYC so a good sushi place was at the top of my list of places to nail down, plus the sushi is solid and there are some unique special rolls that are particularly good. What really got me excited is they have an all you can eat sushi menu — however I’ve tried it a few times and every time they leave out parts of the rolls which has just gotten frustrating at this point. The first time every roll was missing tobiko and various toppings that really make the roll for me. The second time I mentioned it as nicely as possible, and we received rolls missing actual key elements within the roll. I still feel like for price and the all you can eat aspect that Kodomo may be the best game in town, but this experience has me looking to try a few more and make sure.

Mellow, simple ambiance with an often clever menu and attentive service. Though they have an «all you can eat» menu option, I always stick to the main menu as the offerings are more interesting. Some VERY interesting and tasty house rolls, artistically presented, like the«Whiter Geisha»(Spicy salmon, shrimp tempura, mango & avocado wrapped in sesame soybean) and the«Foxy Roll»(Salmon, yellowtail & avocado top with spicy tuna and crunch served with eel sauce) are stand-outs. Parking takes a couple seconds to figure out, as you have to go around back to find it, but good things come to those who wait…

My first visit & impression was one of intimidation. Tacked up on the entrance is a large sign entitled GUIDELINES. «No sharing, all you can eat, but do not waste food.» Common sense for most but this is not Fort Knox. The place has a modern look and is clean. We chose to order the ALLYOUCANEATSUSHI for $ 21.95. You get little paper menu’s and order by marking off your choices and handing over to the chef or waitress. Food is artfully prepared in a timely fashion. VERY fresh and flavorful. It gets only 3 stars because of the intimidation factor. I was sure the«sushi Police» would appear if I left a grain of rice on my plate or tasted a friends Edame!

Great, clean and tasty food! This is probably the best sushi place in the area or NY for that matter. I had«all you can eat» and the menu has very wide selections. Everything that I ordered were cooked with a great care and consistently good(not many places can achieve that). The tempuras were crispy and light without any oil presented on the plate! If this place is nearby me, I would go there every week. I had to lower the rating due to the slow service on my second visit. It was unreasonably slow(it took 1 ½ hrs to get the rolls)

Coming from San Diego my wife and I are extreme sushi junkies. I rather not share some the bills we’ve had at the end of the meals lol. The first time we dined here the rolls and service were 5 stars. We still can’t figure out if everything was as good as it tasted, because we had been deprived of sushi for a few months. I’m going to just say it’s was a breath of fresh air lol. Now, the second dining experience was this past Valentines day. The place was at its capacity, which is good to see, but they only had two guys in the back making sushi. The service was terrible That night. You almost had to trip the waiters to get their attention. Anyways, they had a special going for the night. All you can eat rolls for $ 21, not a bad deal, except It took forever to get the first rolls served and the second rolls took just as long. I almost feel as if they were trying to stall the customers out with slow service because it was all you can eat. That’s just looking at it from a business perspective. Let’s not get it twisted though. They did make up for the slow service with a $ 5 gift card at the end of the meal and the food was still bomb. This is my goto sushi spot.

Great food and great service! Try the satay chicken, miso soup, Moscow roll and teriyaki chicken. They gave us a great fried fish appetizer on the house as well.

This new sushi place is fabulous. I loved the décor and the atmosphere. Everyone was VERY friendly and the sushi was fresh and delicious. I definitely have a new favorite in the area! It’s easy to miss, but it’s across the way from the home depot plaza, over by McDonald’s and BadAss Coffee — where Boston Market was years ago and most recently a Rib restaurant. DEFINITELY recommend trying it if you’re a sushi lover like me!
